Death of Imperial Yak Mourned on Social Media
5575.7.17. - Gongmangdo - In the wee hours of the early morning, news broke from the Kofitalk account of His Grace Baek Dohoon, confirming the death of the KGB's endearing Imperial Yak, Dhondup. The response from citizens was swift and mournful, with many reminiscing about how they had seen the beloved bovine personally. Dhondup, born in 5547, was given to the Imperial couple as a wedding gift and became central to the Crown Prince's childhood growing up. Dhondup was prominent not only within the walls of Jesu Palace, but was a frequent visitor to Gongmangdo's Petting Zoo, where he connected with young Baegukese children from all over. He lived to the age of 28, a good number for a Yak in captivity.
Others, however, did spoof the deceased animal with internet memes, some referencing Dhondup's origins as a state gift from the Xsampan Democratic Republic. One commenter, for instance, wrote the following in the Luthorian language:

It has become a fashionable meme on the Baegukese internet to refer to the Zhi'bde Rgyal'sgo Square Incident when discussion is about Xsampa. It references a massacre during a student demonstration in Metz-Leonid's Zhi'bde Rgyal'sgo Square in 5354, when students calling for political liberalization and unification with the then-extant South Xsampa were arrested or massacred en masse by the Communist Government. The episode is harshly censored in Xsampa even today, so memes mentioning it mock the political repression that exists in communist Xsampa.
Nonetheless, the lovable Yak who frequently made his rounds at the Gongmangdo Petting Zoo will be missed by the people, crown and nation.

Myeoggi Man Stopped for Riding Tiger on Road
Mr. Heukchi Bitgaram (42) was stopped and arrested today by Mirikapa County police for attempting to ride a Dovanian Tiger alongside the highway as if it were a car. The Dovanian Tiger, known nationwide as the Horangi and locally as the Beom, is the co-national animal of the Kingdom of Great Baeguk alongside the Reindeer, appearing on Baeguk's Coat of Arms. The Tiger has immense cultural significance, as in traditional mythology it is believed that the Kyo people are descended from the woman known as Donyeo, who was originally a Tiger. Despite its' long and storied history living alongside all Baegukese people, the Dovanian Tiger - once widespread and even running wild in Gongmangdo - was driven to critical endangerment in the 21st and 22nd centuries under Egelian Colonial Rule, with Egelian noble families and rich tourists often going on extremely destructive hunting trips for their hides. Though post-independence conservation efforts did for a time revitalize their range in the nation, the rigorous industrialization and deforesting that accompanied Baeguk's 54th century economic revival has once more seen the Dovanian Tiger classified as endangered. Currently they are only known to inhabit the remote crevices of the Jangcheong Mountain Range in small numbers.
As a result of the need to conserve and protect the few that remain, the capture and holding of Dovanian Tigers is strictly forbidden by law and can be punishable by a fine up to ㉤30,000 Circuses and/or jailtime up to a year. Mr. Heukchi was later released from the station as a free man, but his Tiger was confiscated and the police declared their intent to resettle it on protected reserve territory. Mr. Heukchi told The Gongmangdo Times that he plans to dispute the seizure of his pet at court. Public outcry on the internet has called for the return of the Tiger, but so far the Mirikapa County PD have given no indication over any changes to their plan to work with Myeoggi Province authorities to return the beast to the wild.

Lodamun-Baeguk Summit Held, Talks Abound of New Military Cooperation
Dramatic advance in a non-traditional but rapidly improving relationship
Lodamun and Baeguk hold a long history of relations, but besides moderate amounts of mutual trade with each other it has not traditionally been considered a strategic partnership of critical importance to either party. However, with Lodamun's growing strength and Baeguk's critical position near the White Ocean (known formally in academic circles as the Ocean of Freezing Cold Blue Wet Stuff), the calculus of diplomacy has shifted and both nations have sought closer ties. It was thus that today concluded the summit between the two governments wherein Prime Minister of the KGB Gwisil Gowoonyaesol met her counterpart the Lord President of the Lodamese Commonwealth, His Excellency Mr. John Haney.
Discussions were hosted by His Imperial Majesty the Hwamu Emperor at Beonyeong Palace, which was the main venue for the events. Lodamunese delegates were invited to try traditional palace cuisine and to saunter the beautiful grounds of Beonyeonggung, Baeguk's largest Imperial Palace, with a grand banquet at Yŏnghoeru pavilion. Yŏnghoeru is famous for its position surrounded by an artificial lake and of its splendid Cheonggiwa blue glazed roof tiles. Besides this, His Excellency Mr. Haney was also invited to tea at PM Gwisil's residence, the Teal House (Byeokwadae).
Discussions proved fruitful, with the two nations agreeing to establish lines of rapid communication to notify each other mutually of vessel and aircraft movement in seas and skies within their respective vicinities. Whilst this was the only concrete agreement to be signed and ratified between the states, it is believed that the two parties informally discussed military coordination and future base sharing agreements. Parties from Lodamun are also said to have been moved up the government's list of preferrable partners for arms trades, though case-by-case review is still required by law. At this time The Dankioray cannot confirm any claims beyond those corroborated by the Lodamese and Baegukese governments.

With the election of Ŋōņim Çubaʒalaki (Co-Prosperity) to the position of Mayor of Ilbae, defeating his opponents incumbent Ikəwkə Sə̄ksənur (Ind.) and challenger Park Himchan (Hongik), Ilbae Metropolitan City continues a trend with what is now its' 4th ethnically Alakasiptil mayor in a row. Culturally Alakasiptil (also known as Penru) identity continues to be prominent in the local politics of Rokgi Province, where the community is most strongly concentrated. Mayor-elect Ŋōņim thanked Seveki-Buga, also known as Osikta Amin (Star Father) for victory in what was a tight three-way electoral race. It is believed he will govern as a moderate center-right liberal on a tighter budget and weaker social spending; with Ilbae having infamously overspent and required central government funding to overcome deficits garnered under populist outgoing mayor Ikəwkə.
Public Condemns Yeudi Ambassador for Resurfacing Comments on Dhondup
Social media is ablaze with fury at the Ambassador from Beiteynu to Baeguk, Yaakov Lichtman, over apparent jokes he was discovered to have made a decade ago over the death of the beloved and missed Imperial Yak, Dhondup. This week new footage was discovered from a day after the news broke of Dhondup's death. In the scandalous footage, Lichtman can be seen laughing uproariously, making jokes in the Yeudi language about the Yak's smell, weight, and how it was comical to see the Baegukese distraught over the death of a "stinking emo cow". The public, largely wary of past Yeudi influence in Baeguk and also emotional on the issue of Dhondup, has been vocal about their desire to see Lichtman expelled. However, the KGB government has thus far taken no action against Lichtman, and it is likely nothing of diplomatic or legal consequence will occur.

Diplomatic Row as Jesu Palace Expels Beiteynuese, Xsampan Dignitaries
5586.6.22. - Gongmangdo - Severe controversy has been sparked following diplomatic disaster at the tea pavilion of Jesu Palace during a banquet held by his Imperial Majesty the Hwamu Emperor for foreign guests in celebration of the traditional Baegukese and Alakasiptil holiday, Muchun. Reportedly, upon spotting Xsampan ambassador to the KGB Woenang Trengwa, Beiteynuese ambassador to the KGB Yaakov Lichtman made what were blatantly offensive jokes about Yaks, a treasured national animal of Xsampa and a symbol of Xsampan diplomacy. This was especially sensitive because Lichtman was caught on tape earlier last year making crude jokes and remarks surrounding the death of Baeguk's late imperial yak Dhondup, who was a gift from Xsampa.
Ambassador Trengwa took offense and began to make obscene gestures at Lichtman. What followed was a messy fight with the imperial cultery, during which Lichtman managed to shatter a crystal glass upon Trengwa's skull, causing blunt trauma and cuts. Lichtman was then bruised by some of the Xsampan delegation before the Hwarang Corps present could successfully intervene and restore order. Both Lichtman and Trengwa have been expelled by the KGB Government, which expressed great frustration at the breakdown of decorum at a state function. The KGB Foreign Ministry clarified that it was taking the health of both ambassadors very seriously and called the flesh wounds to Trengwa "deeply regrettable". Both are expected to easily recover and return to their nations.
Many observe Baeguk's current diplomatic relations with the outside world as a delicate balancing act between the major power blocs of Terra, and Beiteynu and Xsampa's tense relationship as important trading partners with the KGB have made navigating between the two as difficult as being a "shrimp whose back breaks in a fight between whales", as an old Kyo proverb goes. It remains to be seen if this incident will have any longterm effects on either Baeguk-Beiteynu (拜哱 關係) or Baeguk-Xsampan relations (拜嶄 關係), but Jesu Palace invited Beiteynu and Xsampa both to appoint new diplomatic personnel for approval by the KGB Foreign Ministry in what appears to be a hopeful belief that the status quo will be speedily restored.

Though, as members of the West Dovanian Union Baeguk and Kazulia have very close channels for interaction and communication, the holding of exclusive bilateral summits within the WDU is common practice to intensively discuss one-on-one relations. Baegukese MDPs Denounce Bakufu Military Faction, Call for WDU to be Ready to Suspend Sekowo
The new radical party swept Sekowo's local elections last month, calling for the reorganization of the nation into a Shogunate. Opponents fear that, should the BMF gain national power, Sekowan democracy could collapse.
Gongmangdo - The Halls of the West Dovanian Parliament was incredibly tense today as Member of Dovnian Parliament (MDP) Yiri Jaechan formally moved to propose a resolution that would condemn the BMF's political initiatives to re-establish a Sekowan Shogunate. The proposed resolution would furthermore bind the WDU to temporarily suspend the Union membership of any member state under a military government. Finally, the legislation also committed the WDU to temporarily relocate its Executive Offices to Skalm. Though Heimeikyo remains the de jure Executive city, supporters of the bill argued that it could be under the risk of arrest should Sekowo's political system rapidly change. Proponents thus declare that Kazulia, which is politically and economically stable, should become the temporary home of the President until Sekowo is secured. Yiri's proposal was supported by 9 of the 15 Baegukese MDPs allocated to the parliament and was fiercely debated among all national delegations.
The Bakufu Military Faction, or BMF (Sekowan: 幕派, Baku-ha) is a new political party just formed weeks ago, whose stated mission is to stand for " the restoration of the ancient shogunate in Seko". Many fear that the BMF could be harboring extremist and anti-democratic ideas and seek to spread them across the WDU, although the party itself has not explicitly advocated for any concrete policies yet. Though the BMF remain political outsiders with no representation in Sekowo's national legislature, the Diet, yet, many fear that they could easily sweep the upcoming national elections in 5593 and oust the currently stagnating and unpopular liberal government.
Should the resolution pass West Dovanian Parliament, then Sekowo could very well find itself temporarily suspended from WDU membership and benefits should the BMF win next election.

GONGMANGDO CAPITAL CITY - The outrageous decision of the "Prosperity" government's decision to send 450 young Baegukese to potentially die and intervene in an internal conflict on the Majatran continent, oceans away and posing no threat to the KGB, has sparked fierce resistance among the Baegukese people who yearn for peace. The incompetent and aggressive globalists of the neoliberal establishment have caused an outrage among the citizenry through their rash and impulsive desires to peddle weapons and sedate any forces standing up to their world order.
Member of the Social Democratic Party of Great Baeguk (SDPGB) and Sage from Myeoggi Province, Buyeo Dolgaebaram, rose among many in opposition in both houses of the Senate to protest the egotistical decision by Prime Minister Eulji Iseul and her neoliberal cabal to send young men and women to die overseas in a nation that has done nothing to Baeguk. Speaking before, Sage Buyeo declared thusly:

The SDPGB continues to appeal the matter to His Imperial Majesty the Emperor Hwamu, who still holds the authority as the Head of State and Commander in Chief of the Royal Army of Bae to reject the motion and ground the so-called "relief forces" in Baeguk.
