ROMULA - It took just six months for the Third Government led by Valeriano Giunio to enter a climate of permanent tension. After a long and arduous formation, marked by negotiations that dragged on throughout November and December, the government now appears more fragile and divided than ever, caught between divergent ambitions and conflicting interests within the majority itself.
The situation was complicated already at the moment of the outcome of the legislative elections, which saw a significant decline for the liberal parties and a significant gain for the Hosian Democratic Union. The new balance has forced Giunio to recalibrate the coalition's dynamics compared to the previous legislature, once again contending with the influence of the Hosian Democrats.
One of the key points of the government's program, strongly supported by Democracy & Freedom and by Giunio, is the broad privatization plan in non-strategic sectors, intended to leave full scope for the market. But this very measure is generating the first rifts within the majority: the Hosian Democrats have said they are ready to impose limits and conditions, opposing any ideological drift that could damage the social fabric or essential services. This conflict risks paralyzing the government's action, caught between neoliberal orthodoxy and solidarity-based caution. To complicate matters for Giunio, the UOD appears increasingly close to winning over the Liberal Republican Party.
The atmosphere is further tense due to the unrest among the main unions. The historic General Labor Union (Unione Generale del Lavoro, UGL), strongly linked to the Hosian democrats, has become increasingly critical of the government. While the UOD has openly sided with the union, calling for a dialogue, the D&L and the more liberal fringe of the PNL are firmly opposed to any compromise that calls into question the labor reform approved in 6550.
The labor reform could be a key negotiation, triggered by an unexpected rapprochement between the PNL and the UOD on another issue: the new Defense Program, which, according to Giunio, would represent the definitive step toward restoring Istalia to the ranks of the major global powers. Opposed by D&L and the Liberal Republicans, the plan could gain the support of the UOD in exchange for an agreement with the unions, an exchange that would call into question the architecture of the labor reform and is generating strong discontent. However, Giunio, under pressure from PNL hawks and military circles, would be ready to yield to the UOD.
As if that weren't enough, another issue threatens to inflame the coalition: the UOD's request to revise the income tax reform approved in the previous legislature. The goal is to increase the so-called "solidarity contribution" for high-income earners and ease the tax burden on lower-income earners, a measure fully in line with the party's hosian social identity, forcefully reaffirmed after the election of its new President, Carlo Malerba, at the recent National Congress after years that saw the party move away from the liberal positions it had taken in the 30's and 40's.
Six months after taking office, the Third Giunio Government has yet to achieve true internal cohesion, and the climate among the majority partners remains fraught with mistrust, backroom negotiations, and the threat of a latent crisis. With allies increasingly distant on all the main issues on the political agenda, the question is whether the government will be able to survive the entire legislative session.
As stated by many expertises before the elections, the government's stability will depend entirely on his personal mediation skills. But in such a fragmented and fluid environment, even the proverbial skill of the Minister Secretary of State may not be enough.

ROMULA - The Secretary General of the Socialist Democratic Party, Fabrizio Moccia, has announced the launch of an ambitious initiative aimed at international cooperation between democratic, progressive, and environmental left forces.
During an interview on the sidelines of the National Steering Committee meeting, Moccia revealed that the PSD is building a dense network of contacts with like-minded parties in other countries around the world, with the aim of creating a transnational association capable of uniting social democratic, green, and progressive interests in a common front.

Moccia confirmed that initial contacts are already underway with political forces in various parts of the world. Among them the Workers' Party of Independents and Laborers of Rildanor, Dignity and Progress movement in Valruzia, Gaduridos' Pan-Seleyan Social Democratic Party, the dundorfian Social Democratic and Green Parties, and the kalopian parties Oikologoi and Anipotakti Aristera, the latter representing the environmental movement and the radical democratic left, respectively.
According to several observers, the Socialist Democratic Party, one of the parties with the broadest popular support in Istalia, one of the most populous countries in the Western world, could aspire to a leading and leading role in the emerging international coordination. With the largest membership among Istalian political forces and a well-established and well-funded structure, the PSD presents itself as one of the potentially most influential players in this initial phase.
However, Moccia's proposal, which has already sparked debate among the global left, faces a complex geopolitical reality. In particular, concerns are growing within the Istalian PSD over the ambitions of some hegemonic parties in socialist nations, which showed interest for the organization but which appear already intended on pushing the nascent association toward a structured alliance between socialist states, rather than an open and pluralist network of parties.

ROMULA - The Government has officially announced the upcoming state visit to the Republic of Gaduridos by Minister-Secretary of State Valeriano Giunio and His Imperial Highness Crown Prince Tommaso. The latter will officially represent Emperor Alexander V as Head of State for the first time, as the Imperial House recently announced he is unable to travel abroad.
The visit will take place in the Gadurian capital of Gadur, on the island of Marligantos, and represents the culmination of over a year of contacts and negotiations between the two governments. The focus of the trip will be the definition of a new bilateral economic and trade agreement, which is expected to mirror those already signed by Istalia with numerous countries in the northern Seleyan area. The shared goal is to promote the free movement of goods and capital, increase economic exchanges, introduce common guarantees for investments, and sign agreements on taxation and the prevention of double taxation.
According to sources close to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the agreement being prepared with Gaduridos will further strengthen the Istalian trade network on the Seluyan mainland, consolidating the country's position as a leading economic player in the region.

A deafening silence has swept through Istalia's major cities, ports, mines, and stations: the largest general strike since the beginning of the third Restoration has virtually paralyzed the country for twenty-four hours, leaving behind empty streets, idle factories, deserted train tracks, and signs of profound discontent. According to data provided by the unions themselves, average participation exceeded 78% of registered workers, with peaks exceeding 90% in the automotive, public transportation, and especially in the mining sector, which is now the beating heart of the protests and poised to lead the workers' struggle.
The National Mining Union (SNSM), the undisputed leader of the protests, announced that over 95% of its members had turned out, blocking entire mining districts and forcing numerous companies to suspend production. Rail and air transport were also severely disrupted, with worker participation described as "unprecedented" by industry authorities.
In several cities, from Torre d'o Sulento to Caleon, there were moments of tension and sporadic clashes with law enforcement, particularly in front of prefectures and industrial plants where pickets attempted to prevent non-members from accessing the site. Security forces, despite being deployed in containment mode, maintained a cautious stance, and incidents were limited to isolated incidents without serious consequences.
The mobilization, jointly called by the Istalian United Trade Union Confederation (CISU), the General Labor Union (UGL), and the increasingly powerful SNSM, is the largest of the numerous strikes and demonstrations that already marked Istalia during last year and half, called in response to the growing difficulties experienced by millions of workers in an increasingly deregulated labor market to whom, after a year from the previous elections, the Government hasn't given any answers yet.
In recent years, the long series of reforms promoted by center-right governments has introduced numerous liberalizations, making hiring and firing more flexible, weakening collective bargaining agreements, and encouraging a more flexible employment dynamic, but often at the expense of stability and worker security.
From the stage in Square 2th of May of Milona, CISU Secretary Simonetta Terzi forcefully declared:
Quote:Growth is not enough without justice! The economy can thrive even while jobs struggle, and that's exactly what's happening in Istalia. But we cannot accept and allow benefits to fall just to a privileged few, profiting at the expense of workers. This is the time for protection, fairness, and the valorization of the role and voice of workers!
According to numerous analysts, the explosion of union mobilization is not an isolated phenomenon, but part of a broader reversal of trends, as social economist Daria Mezzini explained:
Quote:After decades dominated by policies geared toward efficiency, public spending containment, and market competitiveness, we are now seeing a political, social, and economic climate, both nationally and globally, increasingly open to social, redistributive, and community demands. What happened today in Istalia is the result of an accumulation of unrest that has exceeded the threshold of tolerability. Workers, even in a growing economy, are not seeing their conditions improve. And the unions have seized the moment to regain their central role.
Government sources confirm that the strike has had a strong impact on the internal dynamics of the majority, further increasing the tensions between the liberal bloc and the Hosian Democratic Union. According to some rumors, these pressures are reportedly pushing a Giunio who had already softened on the issue for some time, to give in to the positions by the UOD which is pushing for an agreement on a collective bargaining reform, a project that, indeed, the Patriotic Front wanted to approve in the first years of the Imperial State but that then it was put aside with the liberal shift of the party reformed into he National Liberal Party. Negotiations between the partners are expected to be extremely tough. Giunio, however, is further pushed to sit down with the unions and give in to the UOD by the latter's promise to support the next Defense Program that the Minister Secretary would like to pass in the early months of next year.
So we will have to see whether the Minister Secretary will be able to convince Democracy & Freedom and the Liberal Republicans as well, although with the latter the UOD has long been implementing a persuasion strategy in this direction, but what is certain is that the unions emerged strengthened not only by record turnout, but by having demonstrated, through action, that they can bring the country to a standstill.

ROMULA - In a solemn declaration read before the foreign press and key accredited diplomatic correspondents, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Chiara Silvanin (PNL), on behalf of the Government of the Imperial State of Istalia and of the Istalian Imperial Crown, wished to formally apologize to the Government of Kalistan and to Her Imperial Majesty Empress Mary I Ananto, following the diplomatic controversy sparked by Istalia's announcement of an upcoming state visit to Gaduridos and the proposal of a bilateral trade agreement with that country.
According to reactions from Kaliburg, the visit was planned without proper coordination with the Viceroy of the Kingdom of Gaduridos, the Empress's representative in Gadurian territory, and without prior consultation with the Imperial Government in Kaliburg, which holds exclusive jurisdiction over foreign policy, security, and international economic relations for all member states of the Ananto Empire.
The Foreign Minister stated:

In keeping with the principle of maximum transparency that guides our diplomatic action, we nevertheless believe it is our duty to emphasize that a significant role in the misunderstanding was played by the prompt willingness shown by the authorities in Gaduridos to host and organize the state visit. This circumstance contributed to strengthening, albeit erroneously, the perception that this initiative was in line with the customs and margins of autonomy normally recognized to local governments. Istalian diplomacy acted lightly, without malice or intent to bully, but this does not diminish the responsibility nor the objective value of the violation committed, for which we express our most sincere regret.
For this reason, the Government of Romula has decided to suspend and postpone all official visits to Gaduridos, and to give absolute priority to a diplomatic mission to Kalistan, led by His Imperial Highness Grand Crown Prince Tommaso, representing Emperor Alessandro V. The Prince will be received in Kaliburg on an official visit to meet with Her Majesty the Empress and the Empire's institutional leaders.
During the statement, the Istalian Government was keen to clarify that there has never been, nor is there, any hostile intent or interference on the part of Istalia towards the Anantonese Empire or its territorial articulations.
Quote:Istalia has never pursued, nor does it pursue, a hostile or oppositional agenda, much less the construction of an alternative hegemonic system in the region. On the contrary, driven by a cooperative spirit and a sincere desire for dialogue, Istalia wishes to clarify that its diplomatic and commercial actions are in no way intended to act as an alternative, competitor, or threat to existing regional cooperation structures. Our goal is not to create an "economic empire" that overlaps with existing realities, but rather to forge commercial ties based on reciprocity, respect, and mutual benefit.
The accusation, made by some Kalistani representatives, of wanting to create a global economic network under Istalian control has been defined as "unfounded and harmful". The Government of Romula has emphasized that Istalia's economic and diplomatic strategy is based on maximum transparency and respect for the political, economic, and cultural diversity of its interlocutors.
The government therefore decided to firmly reject the harsher interpretations coming from the press and some Kalistani institutional figures, according to which Istalian foreign policy is imperialistic in nature or aimed at imposing unbalanced treaties to the exclusive advantage of Romula.
Quote:The trade agreements that Istalia has signed in recent decades have always been the result of careful, transparent negotiations based on equal footing. The Republic of Valruzia, the Democratic Republic of Xsampa, and numerous other interlocutors belonging to different political systems, from liberal democracies to socialist regimes or absolute monarchies, have been able to directly verify the good faith and openness of Istalia's diplomacy, which has always respected the economic, social, and cultural specificities of its counterparts.
A significant portion of the clarification was therefore dedicated to the so-called "Vintalli issue", namely the perception, widespread among the Kalistani public, that Istalia is attempting to assert a privileged or exclusive cultural connection with the island of Vintalli, which some in Kalistani have portrayed as an attempt at "appropriation" by Istalia. In this regard, the Government expressed regret for the apparent misunderstanding:
Quote:Istalian academic institutions, always driven by a free, independent spirit and devoted to historical research, pursue solely the goals of research and cultural exploration. Interest in the Vintalli language and its origins is nothing more than an expression of this desire for knowledge, and certainly not a tool for propaganda or cultural hegemony. This is not a political claim, but rather a desire to explore, with scientific rigor and collaborative openness, the ancient connections that crossed the Anantonese Ocean in ancient times. Our linguists and archaeologists have focused on analyzing the influences of Ancient Vinesian, Selucian, and Proto-Aegelian, fascinated by how these languages succeeded so much at the expense of the older "native" languages. They have never denied, but rather enthusiastically acknowledged, the rich and varied contributions the island has experienced over the millennia. All of this reflects a love of knowledge, and certainly not an attempt to rewrite history to their own advantage.
The statement also emphasizes that numerous Istalian universities and research institutes are ready to share their findings and collaborate with academic institutions in the Ananto Empire, in a spirit of respect, equal exchange, and cultural cooperation, as has already occurred in the past in the fruitful debates fondly remembered by Istalia on the ancient relations between the Selucian Empire and the ancient Anantonese Empire, on the chronology of events in northern Seleya, on the interactions with merchants, explorers, and adventurers of the ancient Estalian Merchant Republics, and many others.
In conclusion, the Istalian Government expressed the hope that the incident could be transformed into an opportunity to revitalize relations with Kalistan, overcoming mutual prejudices and misunderstandings that have grown over time.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, concluding, stated:
Quote:Perhaps this crisis could represent a turning point, the opportunity to overcome the mutual preconceptions that, over the years, may have polluted the perception of others' intentions. Istalia, as it has always done with every nation at the negotiating table, is ready to listen, understand, and act with respect, transparency, and a constructive spirit.
With measured but firm words, Romula finally made an appeal:
Quote:In today's complex and fragmented world, we need cooperation, not suspicion. Istalia reiterates its profound respect for Kalistan and the Ananto Empire, the same respect it has shown all our interlecutors. Istalia hopes that this incident may be an opportunity to re-establish relations with Kalistan and perhaps embark on a path that can help both our nations rediscover the friendship that once bound our two nations, which today seems as distant and remote as the relations between Istalia and Vintalli, a friendship that Istalia has not forgotten and remembers fondly. We are ready to do our part.
Probably this will be the last official statement by Chiara Silvanin as Foreign Minister, most of the junior parties of the Government and the opposition united in asking her to resign, and a surely it's a significant political blow for Giunio, who, however, by personally opting for the path of apologies and reconciliation, could even transform the crisis into an opportunity for the country to reestabish relations with Kalistan and, who knows, perhaps even sit in the future at the negotiating table with Kaliburg.
The ball is now in Kaliburg's court. But a message has come through from Romula, loud and clear: Istalia wants peace, respect, and cooperation, and will do everything possible to demonstrate it with deeds.

CAŁEON - TEA (Tecnologie Elettroniche Avanzate), the well known Istalian microelectronics engineering giant, today unveiled the TEA "AEON V1RGO", the first model in a new generation of microprocessors set to rewrite global standards for performance, efficiency, and affordability. With this announcement, TEA not only officially enters the post-nanometer era, but is doing so as a leading player, promising a disruptive impact on the entire technology ecosystem.
The new AEON V1RGO is a concentrate of advanced engineering: built on a 3nm-class EUV manufacturing process, it uses a multi-tiered chiplet architecture, with the high-performance Nirurta-X core and the high-efficiency Falcon-L core, capable of handling mixed workloads in critical environments, from data centers to edge devices. The chip is equipped with 16 Nirurta-X cores and 32 Falcon-L cores , for a total of 48 logical cores on HSA (Heterogeneous System Architecture) architecture; 1 TB/s of internal bandwidth thanks to the new TEA-telo 5 bus; TEA-Oculus x8 integrated GPU, with 128 graphics cores and support for Ray Tracing, DirectCompute and 8K rendering; dedicated on-die AI module, for local real-time inference; superior thermal efficiency with up to 20% lower thermal dissipation than current top-of-the-line products thanks to dynamic workload management and power gating technologies; native support for DDR5-X RAM and PCIe 5.0 and CXL 2.5 interfaces.
The AEON truly appears to be a true engineering masterpiece, ready to go where no microprocessor has yet dared.
But the TEA AEON V1RGO is just the beginning. The AEON series represents a scalable modular platform designed to cover every area of modern computing: from workstations to ultra-light notebooks, from smartphones to embedded devices for home automation and robotics, and even next-generation consoles. Each chip in the family will be designed to integrate customizable features, with support for hybrid operating systems, AR/VR technologies, machine vision, blockchain computing, and even high-precision military or scientific simulation environments.
During the presentation of the V1RGO processor, TEA executives emphasized how the company is already focused on the next technological challenges. While the V1RGO represents the state of the art in Istalian microelectronics, TEA is already developing a new generation of key technologies that will evolve it, like the transition to the 2nm-class EUV+ process, with higher density and lower power consumption; the adoption of CXL 3.0 for more efficient memory sharing between CPU, GPU, and accelerators; the design of the new TEA-telo 6 bus, with internal bandwidth exceeding 1.5 TB/s; a new generation of high-performance Nirurta-Z cores, based on advanced superscalar architectures; and finally, a new generation of the TEA-Oculus GPU, with native support for 12K rendering, dynamic ray tracing, and machine learning hybrid shading. This is accompanied by the increasingly advanced integration of neural modules, with neural-scale AI engines designed for real-time edge inference.
But the AEON family is just one of the projects on which TEA is investing. Derived by the AEON but with its own architectural identity, there is the developement of "MORFEON", a next-generation neural processing unit dedicated to accelerating AI and machine learning processes, designed with a dynamic synaptic neural architecture. Developed in collaboration with VerTech, MORFEON will be able to train and infer deep, dynamic neural networks in real time, directly on-device; manage advanced computer vision, including holographic and three-dimensional environmental recognition; support hybrid and quantum convolutional neural networks; and provide native support for integration into autonomous robotic environments, intelligent biomedical devices, and automated driving platforms.
The collaboration between TEA and VerTech, which began years ago, is thus establishing itself as one of the most fruitful in the global tech landscape. Among the most striking results of the TEA-VerTech collaboration is the experimental "Somnium" processor, a prototype hybrid quantum microprocessor, which two years ago has captured the interest of the scientific community and enthusiasts of the so-called quantum awakening.
Based on topological-state photonic qubits, the Somnium processor marked a key moment in the transition between classical and quantum computing. No longer a mere proof-of-concept, the Somnium is now at the center of the parallel but complementary "QEURON Project", involving the University of Buria and the Institute for Advanced Computational Research of Milan (IRACM), a QPU based on the quantum circuit and quantum logic gate-based model of computing.
The University of Buria is currently developing, together with IRACM, the "Mentia" platform, a modular distributed supercomputer with a projected computing power exceeding 150 exaFLOPS, designed to integrate hybrid quantum architectures and the Somnium-derived processor it is expected to become its beating heart within the next three years.
In parallel, the "Verbum" supercomputer, designed and built by VerTech with the cooperation of the most prestigious university and reserach institution, and largely financed too by the State, as an exclusive platform for evolutionary simulations, neural prediction, and autonomous computational ecosystems, will also integrate the new quantum-technical architecture currently under development that could make it become the most powerful of its kind. The "Verbum" will be available to VerTech, of course, and therefore to institutional players, research centers and other companies. But VerTech isn't stopping there and predicts that as the technologies improve, different types of quantum processors to be born from the cooperation with TEA, from 5 to 20 qubits, will be available for public use through its cloud.
Both projects will be incorporated into the emerging "Rete Supercomputazionale Diffusa Istaliana" (RSDI), a distributed infrastructure capable of connecting universities, research centers, industrial laboratories, and public and private AI networks in real time.
This impressive acceleration has undoubtedly been made possible by TEA's industrial policy, which has fully verticalized its supply chain. Thanks to strategic investments in rare earth mines, clean extraction technologies, and proprietary refineries, TEA guarantees autonomous and sustainable access to key resources such as neodymium and dysprosium. This approach not only lowers production costs but also guarantees unprecedented strategic resilience compared to global industry giants. In other words, TEA is independent and can afford to offer the best at unthinkable prices.

ROMULA - After months of negotiations, both between the political forces and with the trade unions, in a vote that marked another moment of intense tensions within the majority, the National Congress approved the collective bargaining reform. The law represents a turning point in relations between workers and businesses, significantly strengthening the influence of trade unions and creating a structured, binding, and centralized system for negotiations on key labor issues.
The reform introduces stable and regulated mechanisms for bargaining between employers' organizations and worker representatives, setting new standards for the drafting of national collective bargaining agreements, the definition of reference wage scales, hiring regulations, and an automatic mechanism for adjusting wages to the cost of living and inflation. This framework aims to ensure greater legal certainty, fair pay, and worker protection, but critics argue it risks tightening the labor market and increasing costs for businesses.
At the forefront of the reform push is the Hosian Democratic Union, which has long been expressing growing dissatisfaction with what many of its members have called a "hyper-liberal drift" within the center-right coalition. According to Hosian Democrats leaders, the balance between social ethics and economic pragmatism was eroding, to the exclusive advantage of business interests. With this law, the UOD sought to reaffirm its roots in a social vision of the economy, consistent with its Hosian-popular tradition. Party sources explained that it was no longer possible to continue sacrificing fundamental values for superficial cohesion, and that the growing union mobilization of the past two years, culminating in the two general strikes that paralyzed the country last year, could not go unanswered.
At the center of everything, once again, was Minister Secretary of State Valeriano Giunio, forced to navigate a delicate balancing act between the growing demands of the UOD and the unions on the one hand, and the resistance of two minor allies, Democracy & Freedom and the Liberal Republican Party, on the other. For weeks, Giunio attempted negotiations, offering amendments and reassurances. But according to leaks from parliamentary sources, he was prepared to go much further: on at least two occasions, he threatened to resign and trigger a government crisis if the law were defeated or further watered down.
In the end, D&L and PRL gave in, supporting the reform with evident reluctance and undisguised unease, although UOD agreed to several concenssions to the allies, among which the most relevant they agreed to drop their demands for income tax reform and especially for increasing the solidarity tax. Giunio and PNL, on their part, promised to expand the privatizations program also in some of the strategic sectors and in granting more decision power to D&L and PRL in the future appointments of managers of state-owned companies, also because Giunio has been working for over a year also in convincing the allies in support the new Program for the Defense.
In any case, Giunio, at least for now, has achieved a significant political success. He responded firmly to the social protests, contained the UOD's centrifugal forces, and minimized the possibility of a fracture in the coalition. It remains to be seen how long this precarious balance can hold.
The trade unions, for their part, welcomes the reform, calling it a historic victory after years of marginalization. And while some observers already see the agreement as a high price for the coalition's stability, others see it as a sign that, under Giunio's leadership, it is still possible to reconcile seemingly irreconcilable interests, at least until the pressure exceeds the leader's ability to contain it.
The opposition's reactions to the collective bargaining reform have been varied and, in some cases, strongly ideological. The New Communists have hailed the success of the large-scale mobilization that saw workers, students, and university students take to the streets, emphasizing that "workers, if united, can overcome even the strongest and most blind resistance". At the same time, however, they have not spared criticism of the government and even part of the unions, accusing them of "sitting down to negotiate an agreement built on the unfair capitalist system and serving to continue to preserve the privileges of employers and the capital".
The Democratic Socialist Party has a different position, justifying its abstention by stating its belief that more and better can be done. For the Social Democrats, the approved reform represents only a first step and does not structurally address the fragilities of the labor market, which now requires a modern and comprehensive Workers' Statute.
The Greens, who in part voted in favor, were the least critical: they called the text an important step forward, while reiterating that the country needs a change of direction and a government truly receptive to the strong demands coming from below. These demands, according to the Green Party, are not limited to jobs but also involve rights, the environment, and social relations, signs of a ferment that is sweeping across Istalian society.

Istalia and Badara sign a historic agreement for the construction of a new space center in the Badaran archipelago

In an agreement described as "historic" by both diplomatic authorities, the Istalian government has signed with the government of Badara the lease of a vast area of approximately 250 square kilometers located in the south of the northern island of the Badara archipelago. The area will be designated for the construction of an ambitious new space center for the AISA (Istalian Authority for Space and Aeronautics).
According to a joint statement, numerous infrastructure facilities will be built on the site, including several launch pads, a mission control center, a 4,600-meter-long runway, a large advanced radar installation, and other technical and logistical support buildings. AISA specified that additional facilities, already planned, will be built in subsequent phases based on future operational needs.
The new center will be used for civilian and commercial missions, as guaranteed by the Istalian government to the Badara authorities. In exchange for a significant reduction in leasing fees, Badara will be able to use Istalian satellite infrastructure for radio and television networks and internet services free of charge. Istalia will also undertake to develop and launch of a certain number of satellites into orbit for direct use by the government entities and privates in Badara. The site, however, will be disponible to international cooperation and the AISA is ready to the establish agreements with other foreign space agency for the utilization of the site.
The announcement comes at a time when AISA, like the Joint Command for Space Operations, is expanding its activities. The "Paolo Tarso" Space Center on the coast of northern Alaria and the "Aquila" mobile launch platform are reaching their structural and operational limits. In particular, the Aquila platform is unable to support launchers beyond a certain size, while the Paolo Tarso Center is under increasing pressure for both civilian and military launches.
Another key factor in the decision is AISA's desire to significantly reduce launch costs. Moving part of its operations closer to the equator, and therefore to latitudes more favorable for orbital launches, represents a strategic choice. Badara, located on the Southern Tropic, was identified as the ideal nation for both geographical and geopolitical reasons: long-standing friendly relations, existing cooperation in various sectors, intense commercial activity, and logistical proximity.
In parallel, the Paolo Tarso Center will see the construction of a new dedicated port facility, equipped with covered loading docks directly connected to the launcher assembly facilities. Two ships, a primary and a secondary, will ensure maritime connections between Alaria and Badara, supported by a fleet of cargo aircraft managed directly by AISA.
The military space component will also benefit from the operational rebalancing made possible by the new site. With the gradual relocation of a significant portion of AISA's civilian and commercial operations to Badara, the Joint Command for Space Operations will be able to make greater use of the Paolo Tarso Center. This will allow for more effective planning of strategic missions, tests, and satellite positioning operations, freeing up valuable resources and infrastructure capabilities previously shared with the civilian Agency.

Government presents the “Defense Program 5700”: a new decisive step to full effectiveness of National Defense

ROMULA - Finally, after months of debates within the majority, concessions and promises made to the liberal allies, and the intense personal committment of Valeriano Giunio, the government has officially presented the “Defense Program 5700”, defined by the Ministry of the Secretariat of State as "the guiding star for achieving the full efficiency and effectiveness of the National Defense". A new ambitious initiative that follow the first White Book of Defense and which aims to definitively bring Istalia back to the strategic-operational standards that in the past made it one of the main military powers on the planet.
Confirming the scope of the program, the Defense General Staff has hailed the program as a decisive step towards the full maturity of the Defense system, underlining how in many areas the Istalian Armed Forces already compete at high levels with those of the major global powers.
An important section of the Program will be dedicated to the introduction of unmanned systems, both reconnaissance and attack, for all branches of the Armed Forces. These devices will be fully integrated into the Integrated Tactical Information Network (RITI), providing real-time data essential for operations and multiplying intervention capabilities in increasingly complex scenarios.
Specifically for the Army, a new attack helicopter and a modern Main Battle Tank will be developed. The land component will also benefit, as said, from the integration of tactical drones for reconnaissance and offensive action, as well as a new transport aircraft which will be developed for both the Army and the Air Force. The MBT, as already confirmed by the Defense, will be equiped with the new 120/55 gun and METEORA guided munition recently tested by OTO Al-Mehare Armaments.
The Imperial Air Force, in addition to the aforementioned transport aircraft, will receive a new tanker aircraft by Ajax Aeronautics which has already announced its intention to use the order by the Defense to relaunch an entire project for a new civilian aircrafts family, which developement began already under the Socialist Republic, when the company was under state ownership, but than it was suspended due to the Peninsula War.
As for the combat aircraft, important developments concern the controversial Ajax F-52 “Tuono”, the flagship of the New Generation Air Combat System. The initial order, due to the explosion of costs, has been drastically reduced to just half of the planned aircraft, although rumors says that it could be further reduced to just a third. The criticisms, forcefully advanced by UOD, D&L and PRL, but also by a part of the PNL, have further intensified in the last sessions of the Budget Committee of the Congress. The Hosian Democrats, that granted their support to the Program after the Collective Bargaining Reform, this time found themself alignd with the other two junior parties, which already accepted with reluctance and that now are waiting for the Privatizations program.
Thus, to contain costs and support the F-52 with a more versatile platform, the development of a new multi-role fighter will be started starting from pre-existing projects never realized. Accredited sources speak of the Leonardi PNFP-300, conceived under the Seventh Republic and further developed during the Socialist Republic, when Leonardi had been integrated into the state-owned company "Industria Avionica Nazionale". The new fighter will be more compact and less performing than the F-52, but optimized for air-to-ground missions and equipped with cutting-edge sensors and high stealth. The new fighter will be able to cover very diversified roles, such as fighter-bomber, for support missions of the ground forces and even intelligence missions.
The Program also foresees massive investments for the Imperial Navy obviously. The second production phases of the Audace class frigates (further 8 units + 4 optional) and Soldati class (16 new units, of which 8 in full version, 3 in light+ version, easily convertible to the full version, and the rest in light version) will be completed.
Furthermore, the development and future construction of:
- 16 stealth submarines with independent air propulsion, in four different lots. Air-independent propulsion has already been widely exploited in the past by Istalia, which has built several excellent vessels of this type, but DIRSAD will have funding to develop and then test, probably in the last batch of the project, a new propulsion system considered much more performing.
- 4 Merevino-class Logistic Support Ships, the result of a Leonardi-DIRSAD project originating in the First White Paper of Defense;
- 3 new amphibious assault units: 1 multi-role LHD and 2 LHP (respectively inspired by the effective historical Impero-class and the Ardito-class);
- 2 new helicopter carriers specifically designed for anti-submarine warfare.
- Preliminary studies will be funded on a new class of nuclear-powered attack submarine.
To ensure the operational effectiveness of these new platforms, a new multi-role helicopter will be developed suitable for utility, SAR, reconnaissance, but above all ASW, ASuW, command and troop transport tasks. A second, lighter utility helicopter will be produced for all Armed Forces, police forces and civilian agencies, including a commercial version.
A central section of the Program will be dedicated to the development and updating of advanced missile systems, including:
- air-to-air, air-to-ground, surface-to-surface, surface-to-air missiles;
- cruise, anti-ship, anti-ballistic and anti-satellite systems.
The production of guided ammunition for naval artillery will also be relaunched, a tradition of Istalian excellence, now updated with the most modern technologies and also adapted to new anti-aircraft systems and land-based guns.
Finally, the DIRSAD will begin the research and development of a supersonic weapons dedicated to all the Forces, from cruise missiles for the combat fighters of the Air Force to anti-ship and surface-to-surface missiles for Navy and Army, in response to the developments of similar weapons by other powers and which currently are considered as one of the most concerning development of the military technology. The DIRSAD, in increasing the kwnoledge and the know-how over this technology, will start also a program to develop effective counter measures for such kind of weapons, in the form of "hypersonic-killing missile", although the research will investigate also the possibility to use directed-energy weapons to shoot down hypersonic weapons.
The “Defense Program 5700” represents not only a strategic investment for national security, but also an industrial and technological driving force. The government expects a strong employment and technological return for Istalian industries in the sector, and positive impacts also on the civil market, thanks to dual-use applications and technology that can be converted and apllied for commercial uses.
