RE: Istalia - XanderOne - 16-11-2025 Istalia condemns the Selucian regime: "Crimes against humanity, Istalia will not remain silent" The Government takes a very strong stance following the revelations of the internment of the Yeudi population by the military autocracy of Emperor Scipio and about the menaces over the Migrant Pass July 5688 ROMULA - In an extraordinary press conference held at Palazzo Antinori a few days after the elections, the reconfirmed Minister Imperial Secretary of State Marina Cantalamessa appeared before the cameras and the national press to announce an official, total and unequivocal condemnation of the Selucian government. Gravely, Cantalamessa declared: Quote:The news, which only recently emerged, of the progressive internment of the Yeudi population in veritable concentration camps is a horror that the world cannot ignore. On behalf of the Imperial Istalian Government, I state with absolute clarity that Selucia has committed crimes against humanity." The Minister Secretary then delivered a harsh indictment of the current Selucian leadership: Quote:The brutal coups that led to the autocracy of the self-proclaimed Emperor Scipio represent now not only a violent attack on the legal order and the very dignity of the Selucian people but also an attack to the dignity of human life itself. His regime is disavowed by Istalia as an interlocutor and a legitimate government. The facts speak for themselves: political persecution, bloody repression, mass deportations. Cantalamessa emphasized that the authoritarian drift is not only dangerous within the country's borders, but has now taken on a destabilizing dimension for the entire region given the threats by Selucia regarding the Migrant Pass, crucial maritime hub for global trade flows. Quote:We will be unwavering on the threats to the Migrant Pass. Whoever thinks of threatening the security of the Pass threatens the security of the world. Istalia is ready and determined to act, coordinating with its Majatran partners and the states in the Migrant Pass area, to guarantee freedom of navigation and contain the bellicose aims of the Selucian regime. The Istalian government and public opinion have been clearly shocked by the revelation, which emerged recently only thanks to dissident and external sources and then the pompous propagandistic declarations of the government , of the inhumane conditions faced by the Yeudi minority in Selucia. Cantalamessa emphasized how this was made possible by the widespread system of censorship and isolation established by the Selucian regime, revealing the concerning pervasive control established over the country. Quote:A dictatorship that manages to filter information and isolate an entire country from the world is, by definition, a threat to peace and stability. Concurrent with the political condemnation, the government announced a package of harsh economic measures:
On the measures, Cantalamessa stated: Quote:We will not allow our Nation and our economy to, even indirectly, support a regime that practices systematic persecution and we hopes that other willing countries are ready to adopt similar position to put further pression to the regime. Then, concluding the conference, the Minister Secretary of State addressed a message of solidarity to the Yeudi people: Quote:Istalia express all its solidarity to the Yeudi people and offers all the support and assistance necessary to put an end to this crime against humanity. We are talking about over a million people whose rights, serenity, safety and very survival are now threatened. With such a statement, the Cantalamessa Government thus marks one of the strongest and clearest diplomatic stances adopted by Istalia in recent years, opening a new rift with Seluncia, after the crisis over the tarifs on the Migrant Pass, and placing the protection of human rights and regional security at the center of its agenda. RE: Istalia - XanderOne - 16-11-2025 L'OPINIONE|A new polarization between the consolidation of the Greens and the rise of the Nationalists The 5688 elections mark a political turning point: PSD and PNL are in crisis, the Greens' Movement strengthens its leadership, while the Istalian National Front surprises with a success among the military by Luigi Menichetti, political science full professor of the Enrico Bergson University of Romula ![]() CORRIERE D'ISTALIA
POLITICS
August 5688 - International Edition
The recent elections have undoubtedly offered many food for thought to experts and analysts, proving, more than the previous round, to be a true turning point for Istalian politics. Corriere d'Istalia therefore asked its editorialist Luigi Menichetti, full professor of political science at the Enrico Bergson University in Romula, to comment on these recent elections. Menichetti observes that these elections have offered a clear glimpse of the transformation underway in the Istalian political landscape. It is not simply a redistribution of consensus or a physiological change in leadership: what emerges is a profound recomposition of political poles, the significance of which transcends the electoral contingency and is projected onto a historical and cultural level. The PSD and PNL are undoubtedly the biggest losers in these elections. Once the hegemons of their respective camps, both are now suffering internal crises, defections and a loss of identity. The PSD, once a cornerstone of Istalian progressivism and a privileged interlocutor of unions and the social world, appears split between a segment perceived as too closely aligned, and therefore obscured, with the Greens' positions, and a wing more nostalgic for a "more socialist" socialism, yet still seeking a modern, innovative approach that can compete with the Greens' current reformist momentum. The result is a party that is currently struggling to define its own political space in a context where the reformist axis has decisively shifted toward Cantalamessa and her Greens' Movement. The PNL's crisis is a mirror image, but unlike that of the PSD, it has been dragging on for many more years. Obviously, like the entire opposition, it has suffered from the decades-long hegemony of the progressive camp, however, it also appears unable to recover from the loss of the political depth and charisma of Valeriano Giunio, the man who truly redefined the party's positions and objectives, but who, however, likely sowed the seeds that led to the split two years ago. Once a pillar of Istalian liberalism, the party now appears caught between two fires: on one side, the Hosian Democratic Union, which appeals to conservative and moderate voters with a language rooted in Hosian Democratic values, a decidedly more incisive dialectic and better equipped to counter left-wing hegemony; on the other, the Istalian National Front, which has eroded its right flank by attracting nationalists and sovereignists dissatisfied with the party's centrism and pragmatism. The PNL, for the moment, therefore, appears still deeply entangled in internal reflection on its identity and incapable of countering its direct competitors. These phenomena are the result of Istalia's political polarization, which for at least two legislative terms has progressively shifted from the traditional, predominantly economic, left-right axis toward a new and more complex paradigm, pitting environmentalist progressives and social liberals on the one hand, and traditionalist nationalists and moderate conservatives on the other. Those who find themselves lost and isolated within these alignments today are the liberal parties, too progressive for the conservatives and traditionalists, and too liberal for the moderates, in an Istalia that seems having internalized its own socioeconomic model, where extensive welfare, cross-class and cross-category solidarity and the widespread distribution of prosperity no longer represent a political exception, but a true national culture. This "new" left, led by the Greens' Movement, is no longer an expression of "traditional" socialism or classical solidarity: it is a force that combines pragmatic environmentalism, a regulated but strong market economy, social concern and civil rights, with a vision many define as "post-ideological". In this sense, Cantalamessa has transformed the Greens' Movement into a political laboratory, where progressive and liberal ideas coexist with a strong sense of collective responsibility and social solidarity. From this perspective, the Greens' Movement is welcoming the most interesting and dynamic political and philosophical debates and reflections in the Istalian political and academic landscape, becoming a laboratory for the expression of alternative, unconventional and innovative ideas and experiments. On the other side, the UOD has consolidated its position as the new conservative pole, representing a composed and institutional right, rooted in the Hosian Democratic tradition but attentive to national sovereignty and identity values. Its growth is part of a trend of "regrouping moderates" seeking a coherent and recognizable point of reference that can effectively challenge the hegemony of the left with clear and solid values. In this scenario of redefining the balance of power, the success of the Istalian National Front deserves a special mention. The Italian National Front, which won 19 seats on its debut, caused a sensation, surprising observers and analysts, not so much for the quantity of votes, but for the quality and distribution of support. Indeed, the number of votes obtained among the military is significant, where the party achieved a surprising result. The FNI has thus brought to light a compact bloc of officers and veterans within the Armed Forces, who for decades had remained politically marginalized, crushed by the dominance of more moderate and institutional views. Now, however, that segment appears to have regained its voice in a party unafraid to advance a strong, imperial and identity-based vision of Istalia. Should the left be concerned? Or perhaps Istalian politics as a whole? The FNI presents itself as the most radical party in the current political landscape, with an aggressive, strongly sovereignist and patriotic rhetoric. During the election campaign, it did not hesitate to express controversial positions on both domestic and foreign policy. Yet, some observers have pointed out that the FNI has also been "the least hypocritical": it seems, in fact, that the party has espoused a "worldview" in which national interests come before all other considerations and where one should not be afraid to declare and support them openly. The FNI has explicitly stated its desire for an Istalia that is not afraid to adopt any means to assert its interests "in the face of barbarians and rival powers", promoting even a openly hegemonic and imperial Istalia, equipped with a strong and assertive armed forces, as the way to defend and boast Istalian interests. A party that, according to several analysts, "will need to be monitored closely" to determine whether it represents a temporary phenomenon or the beginning of a new era of Istalian nationalism. RE: Istalia - XanderOne - 16-11-2025 Istalia extends an olive branch to Kalistan: “Let’s work together for the Selucian Yeudi”
Minister Secretary Cantalamessa's unexpected move opens new diplomatic avenues. Could the Yeudi crisis become an opportunity to mend relations with Kaliburg?
August 5688
ROMULA - With an unexpected move that surprised observers and analysts, both at home and abroad, Minister Secretary Marina Cantalamessa contacted the Government of Kaliburg directly to discuss the humanitarian crisis engulfing the Yeudi community in Selucia. This decision comes in the wake of Kalistan's immediate and harsh condemnation of Scipio's regime. The Istalian government was among the first to follow Kalistan's example, openly denouncing the treatment inflicted on the Yeudi population and as confirmed by Antinori Palace, the Executive considers it "imperative to build the broadest possible front in order to increase pressure on the Selucian regime". During the special press conference called to respond to the press, Cantalamessa stated: Quote:Despite the tensions and misunderstandings that have strained relations with Kalistan in recent years, our countries have long shared the same sensitivity and willingness to combat abuses and crimes in the area of human rights. Sources close to Antinori Palace highlight how Cantalamessa is clearly seizing the moment to extend an olive branch to Kaliburg and initiate the much-needed thaw in Istalian-Kalistani relations. This move could therefore pave the way for reopening dialogue with a kay partner in northern Seleya. RE: Istalia - XanderOne - 17-11-2025 Cantalamessa begins his second term with a reform in the relationship between work and life
The 35-hour workweek trial begins: less stress, more time for yourself, family and community
Minister of Labour and Employement Ahmad Nasri presenting the 35-hour wrokweek to the press
October 5688
ROMULA - Few months into its second term, the government led by Marina Cantalamessa is launching a new national initiative aimed at improving citizens’ daily well-being. Emerging as one of the most anticipated and discussed reforms during the election campaign, presented with the slogan "New Work, New Life", the initiative marks the beginning of a national trial of the 35-hour workweek. The initiative, which for this first trial will involve major industrial areas and advanced service sector hubs, aims to reduce working hours without reducing pay, thus promoting a healthier work-life balance. The government has provided incentives for businesses participating in the program and a monitoring system capable of measuring the effects of reduced working hours on productivity, well-being, employment and job quality. Minister of Labour and Employement Ahmad Nasri, speaking to the press after the reform was approved by the Imperial State Council, summarized its objectives as follows: Quote:We want to demonstrate that prosperity is not measured solely in hours worked or profit margins, but in a society's ability to give its citizens the time to balance work, education and social life. The measure is part of a broader vision of personal and social well-being, consistent with the government's philosophy. In addition to reduced working hours, the program includes complementary measures to enhance the time freed up from work, such as:
The initiative will also be accompanied by a "National Quality of Life Education Program", promoted by the Ministry of Education and National Culture in schools, universities and the media to spread a new culture of time that is not only "productive" but above all "livable". The reform, therefore, is not just a technical experiment on the labor market but also a cultural reform that aims to rethink the relationship between productivity, happiness and time. For many observers, the decision to inaugurate his second term with this measure has strong symbolic value: it signals Cantalamessa's desire to root his political action in a more human and social dimension, after a first government that focused heavily on growth, innovation and economic sustainability. RE: Istalia - XanderOne - 17-11-2025 Istalia promotes a common international initiative against the Selucian regime
Romula is already getting in touch with the governments of half of the world annuncing also its support for the selucian opposition movement of the Restorationists
October 5688
ROMULA - Sources close to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have confirmed that the Istalian Government has launched a round of contacts with governments all around the world to promote a common initiative towards the Selucian regime. In light of the widespread outrage from numerous countries around the world over the persecution of the Yeudi-Selucians, Istalia is promoting the coordination of the diplomatic activity with its most important partners to offer a common and unified response and strengthen efforts to put pressure on the regime and assist the Yeudi population. But Istalia is not only involving its partners: as it happened with Kalistan, the Government reached even Vanuku to propose Wiel to join the initiative. As firmly underlined by Minister Secretary of State Cantalamessa herself, summoned the press after the Government confirmed the launch of the initiative: Quote: The fate of one million human lives outweighs petty quarrels and the self-serving interests of any nation. We are resolutely convinced that, beyond tensions and disagreements, there exist shared moral and ethical principles on which there can be no divergence, only unwavering concord. Istalia, should the regime not yield, does not rule out joining forces to promote all possible assistance to relocate the Yeudi, although Romula emphasizes that the relocation of those people would still represent a failure and set a dangerous precedent, ignoring the right of individuas and community and which could encourage other similar regimes in other contexts and situations of ethnic tension to reach agreements for further forced, but international sanctioned, deportations. Furthermore, Istalia wished to express its objection to the rumored possibility of military reactions against Scipio's regime. In recent history, explained the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the casualties and geopolitical consequences of other military interventions, which subsequently became occupations and resulted in decades-long partitions and divisions, have been severe and considerable. Given the already unstable situation in northwestern Majatra, the geostrategic and trade importance of the Migran Pass and the absence of a truly well-defined international consensus of nations or major powers capable of adequately coordinating and balancing efforts and outcomes, the consequences could be extremely unpredictable and destabilizing. At the same time, however, Istalia has reiterated that neither the regime nor Scipio can be considered legitimate interlocutors for any form of agreement, and views regime change, together with an end to the persecution of the Yeudi, as "inevitable" for the future of the country’s international relations. For this reason, in conjunction with the announcement of the joint international initiative, the Istalian Government has also formally pledged its support for the Restorationists, the growing opposition movement to the regime that has already completely dissociated itself from the persecution of the Yeudi community. Istalia is determined to support and promote internal change, generated and supported by the population, which can offer a suitable alternative to Scipio's regime and with which, therefore, a new bridge can be built for a new dialogue based on cordiality and a spirit of peaceful coexistence. According to experts and analysts, Imperial State Intelligence has already been activated to assist the Selucian opposition, and it is very likely that the Restorationists can already count on solid financial and organizational support. The Government, in light of the growing protests in Selucia and the regime's evident growing precariousness, expresses its confidence that the joint international initiative will be instrumental and fundamental in ending over 20 years of autocracy and political and ethnic persecution. Finally, the Government once again expresses regret that for too long the international community, including Istalia, has failed to recognize this situation, which cannot be solely attributed to the regime's extremely pervasive and its well refined security and censorship system. A "mea culpa" and a warning to the entire international community? A regret for the times when international organizations existed to monitor and report precisely these realities? Istalia's foreign policy is undergoing a full-scale transformation, and analysts and observers are reflecting on the next moves of this Istalian international momentum. RE: Istalia - XanderOne - 18-11-2025 Monetary Policy: Government and Imperial Bank working on a strategic reshaping
The intensive talks are aimed at redefining the instruments and objectives of national monetary policy in light of the reforms introduced last term and in preparation for future ones
![]() Palace of the Imperial Central Bank of Istalia January 5689
ROMULA - The Government, through the Ministry of Finance and Treasury (MINFIT), the National Agency for Management and Amortization of Debt (ANGAD) and the Ministry of Economy, National Industry and Trade (MINECINC), in recent weeks has intensified talks with the Imperial Central Bank of Istalia to define a reshaping of national monetary policy, deemed necessary in light of the new economic context and the financial and structural efforts initiated during the previous term.
The reforms introduced in recent years, from the expansion of the green economy and finance to initiatives aimed at consolidating the Imperial Lira's role and international credibility, require a strategic reshaping of monetary policies that will accompany both their consolidation and the preparation of future measures the government intends to implement. The National Agency for Management and Amortization of Debt (ANGAD), by now a historic pillar of the Istalian financial system, plays a central role in this discussion. For nearly half a century, ANGAD has coordinated State borrowing and public debt management. His expertise in raising and managing resources for debt repayment is considered essential to ensuring credibility and long-term sustainability. ANGAD presence at the technical discussions, internal sources explain, is considered crucial to ensuring that any adjustment to monetary policy is fully compatible with the sustainability of public debt and the reputation for financial discipline that Istalia has built over the decades. Coordination between the Government and the Central Bank is described as "constant and highly technical", with working groups involving expert officials from the Treasury, ANGAD, Minister of Economy and the Imperial Bank's monetary policy departments. Minister of Finance and Treasury Angelo Mizzella (MdV) told the press: Quote:Istalia's macroeconomic framework is solid, but requires continuous updating of monetary and financial management tools to support the pace of innovation, environmental transition and international economic evolution. Valentina Malicchi, Minister of Economy, National Industry, and Trade (PSD), added: Quote:Joint work with the Imperial Bank will allow us to maintain a favorable environment for industrial growth, investment, the development of strategic technological supply chains and the modernization of the production system. According to experts close to the working groups, among the proposals currently being considered and most widely considered is a revision of the inflation margin, with a potentially more flexible fluctuation band designed to more precisely manage potential external shocks, align monetary policy with the pace of economic growth and industrial innovation and allow for better coordination with the government's fiscal and industrial policies. Some Imperial Bank officials believe that moderate flexibility could strengthen the institution's ability to respond to sudden changes in the global context without compromising the currency's credibility. Another proposal that, according to sources close to the experts, is being evaluated with interest is the introduction of modulated-rate refinancing operations tailored to the economic sectors involved, offering more advantageous conditions to financial institutions supporting strategic investments, such as those related to energy transition projects, technological innovation and applied research initiatives and high-productivity industrial development programs. Imperial Bank sources have reported that this greater "operational refinement" could help avoid distortions and precisely direct credit toward activities considered systemically important and structurally growth-oriented, while maintaining an overall prudent monetary stance. Alongside these proposals, discussion is underway regarding the opportunity to strengthen the liquidity management system through a more structured corridor system. This would strengthen liquidity management tools through a more dynamic operational framework, capable of more frequently modulating the rates applied by the Imperial Bank and rapidly intervening against potential inflationary pressures or excess liquidity. At the same time, there is broad consensus on the need to update the macroeconomic prudential framework: given a highly dynamic domestic finance, itìs considered necessary to increase countercyclical buffers for banks during periods of expansion, strengthen risk assessment criteria in highly volatile markets, and closely monitor the evolution of sectors most exposed to potential speculative phenomenon. Regarding public debt management, coordination between the Imperial Bank and ANGAD is expected to evolve, with the goal of refining the timing of bond and other government securities issuances, further diversifying the investor base and carefully assessing the impact of the recently introduced green and social bond issuances on the yield curve. According to a MINFIT official: Quote:The international solidity and credibility of the Lira and Istalia's ability to attract capital will depend on the country's ability to ensure a fine balance between innovation, predictability and financial discipline. Experts and analysts have welcomed the initiative with interest and are mostly positive, although there are also more cautious assessments. Among the positive aspects considered by many economists, reshaping monetary policy would enhance its ability to accommodate the economic cycle and incentivize structural investments, emphasizing that the growing complexity of the productive system requires a monetary policy capable of adapting, acting and reacting with greater precision and timeliness and effectively coordinating with fiscal and industrial policies, increasing thus the resilience of the banking and financial system. However, among the most critical aspects cited by the more cautious observers there is the risk that greater flexibility in the inflation target could be interpreted by markets as a loosening of monetary discipline. Still others highlight the risk that differentiated rates between sectors could distort the credit market or generate perceptions of favoritism. Finally, some analysts fear that excessive coordination between the government and the Imperial Bank could be interpreted as a potential interference in the independence of the monetary institution, which remains an essential pillar of the Istalian system. More detailed analyses, thus, have drawn clear recommendations: any update to monetary policy must be accompanied by clear, consistent and transparent communication. Institutions should ensure that the new approach fully respects the independence of the Imperial Central Bank and therefore regularly monitor the effects of the new measures on credit, inflation and productivity. Maintaining ANGAD's strong role as a guarantor of public debt sustainability will also be crucial, further consolidating Istalia's reputation as a disciplined, innovative and financially stable country. The involvement of social partners and key economic actors will also be crucial. According to several economists, monetary policy reform in a country with Istlia's economic and financial weight must be constructed as a gradual, coherent process, well-integrated into the national strategic framework. Over the coming months, the work carried out by the Government and the Imperial Bank is expected to be refined, allowing the reform package to begin moving toward adoption. RE: Istalia - XanderOne - 18-11-2025 Flash meeting in the Solocasie between Cantalamessa and Lazarescu
An unexpected summit between the two Heads of Government on the mounting tensions over the Selucian crisis: security, regional stability and strategic cooperation at the heart of the confidential talks
![]() The Villa were Minister Secretary Cantalamessa was spending her summer holidays
January 5688
BAGNI DI SAN DAMIANO - In a meeting as sudden as it was unexpected, Minister Secretary of State Marina Cantalamessa hosted the Prime Minister of Deltaria, Marin Lazarescu, yesterday at the villa set among the gentle hills of Bagni di San Damiano, in the Solocasie Islands, where she has been spending a few weeks on holiday to escape the summer heat of Romula. Sources confirm that, after a series of lengthy phone conversations with the Deltarian leader that had occupied her throughout the week, Cantalamessa eventually decided to invite him for a direct, face-to-face discussion. The meeting, which lasted nearly all day and was shrouded in the utmost secrecy, reportedly focused on shared security issues and, above all, the international implications of the Selucian crisis. Recent escalations, increased violence and global reactions appear to have prompted Romula and Tsargad to intensify dialogue with a view to further, deeper strategic cooperation. In recent months, with the approval of the SOMECO reforms and the activation of the new joint sanctions mechanism against Scipio's regime, Deltaria, Istalia and their partners have embarked on a path of increasing diplomatic, economic, industrial and commercial coordination and integration. However, the "noble-minded yet chaotic" international reaction triggered by the atrocities committed by Scipio’s regime in Selucia, with countries from across the globe poised to deploy ships and troops to the region in an uncoordinated manner, has heightened fears of further uncontrolled destabilization in north-western Majatra. According to sources close to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, concerns are growing in Romula that Selucia could turn into a new "Amudim" or a new "New Endralon & Kizenia": an additional geopolitical hotspot in Majatra, marked by devastating internal fragmentation and potentially conflicting foreign interventions. The disintegration of Selucia's central authority and the proliferation of armed factions raise fears of uncoordinated international actions, driven by divergent interests, with consequences that could shape the global, and particularly Majatran, geopolitical balance for decades. During the meeting, Cantalamessa and Lazarescu carefully considered not only the interests of the two countries but also the broader Majatra context: geographical, historical, ethnic, cultural and geostrategic factors that will shape the future of the continent. Lazarescu left that night for Deltaria, taking off from the small yet busy international airport of Porto San Filippo, the same airport where he had landed. His sudden arrival and departure caused considerable disruption to the island’s logistics and to the many tourists currently flocking to the archipelago, all caught off guard by the unexpected invitation from the Minister Secretary of State. So far, no official statement has been released or leaked from the two governments. But the meeting in Solocasie, sudden, informal but also highly relevant and symbolic, could mark the beginning of a new phase in Istalian-Deltarian relations, with the long shadow of the Seluncia crisis acting as a catalyst. RE: Istalia - XanderOne - 18-11-2025 Istalia officially recognizes the Homeland State of Amudim
The beginning of a new era of peace and stability is the Government's wish and hope, strenghten also by an exhortation from the Emperor to the nations of Majatra
February 5689
ROMULA - In a statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Relations, the Imperial State of Istalia announced its official recognition of the reconstituted Yeudi nation as the "Homeland State of Amudim", calling it "a historic step towards peace and stabilization in northwest Majatra". In the statement, the Istalian Government: Quote:Expresses the most sincere hope that the rebirth of the Yeudi homeland represents the definitive end to a century of instability and tension, wishing the new state lasting peace, prosperity and a future based on dialogue and reconciliation. Also, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasizes: Quote:The reunification of the Yeudi nation can usher in a new, revitalized phase in continental diplomatic relations, contributing to détente between the region's major powers and restoring the centrality of political and economic cooperation. The statement, however, comes amid the ongoing serious crisis in Selucia, where the country is now torn between warring factions, while the fate of the Yeudi-Selucians remains uncertain and exposed to the persecution by the Scipio's regime. The Ministry of Defense has confirmed that preparations for an air-naval expeditionary force, centered around the LHD Invicta, flagship of the Imperial fleet, are well underway. The unit, which will be escorted by destroyers and frigates, will set sail to secure and expand humanitarian corridors for the evacuation of Yeudi refugees fleeing the violences. The Invicta will be dedicated to humanitarian operations but will also serve as an operational platform for the air component, which, along with the other naval units, will monitor the safety of maritime traffic and will be deployed to contain any aggressive sorties by Selucian forces. The Defense General Staff announced that it is already in close coordination with its Deltarian counterpart, while the Government is launching a round of consultations with the region’s key diplomatic chancelleries to organize and coordinate the Multinational Naval Mission planned as part of the International Joint Front against the Selucian Scipio's regime. And in a further statement came just few hours ago, Istalia explicitly invited the Majatran powers and the states in the area of the Migrant Pass to join the multilateral operation, "driven by noble intentions, aimed at protecting human lives and reaffirming the fundamental principles of the international order". The Government has emphasized that such collaboration could represent a first step, an opportunity, to initiate a gradual easing of continental relations and to symbolize the solemnity and seriousness of the Istalian appeal, His Majesty Tommaso V instructed the Government to conclude the note with a brief message penned personally by the Emperor: Quote:The establishment of the Homeland State of Amudim offers a rare opportunity to renew relations among the nations of all Majatra. It is up to us, Majatran people, to seize this opportunity and transform it into the foundation of a just, stable and lasting peace. RE: Istalia - XanderOne - 19-11-2025 Breaking News|Nation in mourning: Emperor Tommaso V has died
The entire country mourns the sudden passing of the Sovereign at the age of 83. Empress Eleonora I ascends to the Throne
![]() 24 April 5689
REGGIO INGRIS - This morning, Istalia awoke to news that has shocked the country and left it in mourning today: His Majesty Emperor Tommaso V has died suddenly at the age of 83. The official announcement released by the Imperial Household announced that the Emperor was found lifeless in his study at Villa Annamaria, the family's private residence in the Appian countryside. His personal valet, who was bringing him a herbal tea, discovered him around 11:30 PM. The Sovereign was sitting at his desk, poring over some documents he was consulting. Alerted immediately, doctors could only confirm his death, which, according to reconstructions, occurred between 10:00 PM and 11:30 PM. Specialists, who examined the body overnight at the Reggio Ingris Civic Hospital, reported that death was caused by deep vein thrombosis (DVT) in the lower limbs, with subsequent paradoxical cerebral embolism through a possible patent foramen ovale or another cardiac shunt. Doctors emphasized that this type of event, although rare, can occur in elderly individuals due to increased vascular fragility and a predisposition to hyperthrombocytosis and venous stasis, which increase the risk of sudden clot formation. Sources close to the Palace reported that His Majesty appeared in good health and fully active in his institutional duties. Just a few days ago, he received the Minister of Foreign Affairs and several ambassadors in Romula, as part of a series of meetings dedicated to the international cooperation over the Selucian crisis. "Nothing suggested such an outcome", declared a senior court official. According to the service personnel and tthe Empress, his Majesty spent almost all the day working at his desk: the prolonged sitting position could have ttriggered the vein thrombosis. The news of the death deeply shocked Empress Melissa, who was at Villa Annamaria with the Emperor. Within an hour, the residence was reached by Grand Crown Princess Eleonora, who arrived with a small procession and was welcomed with all the honors, being the new reigning Empress of the Istalians and Sovereign of the Imperial State of Istalia. According to dynastic protocol, Eleonora became Her Most Excellent Imperial Majesty Eleonora I at the very moment of her father's death. This morning, before the High Council of the Crown, the solemn signing of the Act of Accession to the Throne is scheduled, formally sanctioning the transfer of power, that will be transmitted today to the National Congress for registration in the national registers. For the moment, flags on public buildings across the country have already been flown at half-mast, while the Government has proclaimed twelve days of national mourning. In the official statement, the Imperial Household announced that tomorrow the Emperor's remains will be transferred to Romula, to the Quattroregni Palace. There, the body will be laid to rest, dressed in his beloved Navy uniform, as per the Emperor's instructions, and placed in an oak and bronze coffin. Then the body will be placed on the funeral catafalque in the Throne Room, which will remain open for four days, allowing citizens to pay their last respects to the Sovereign. The solemn state funeral will be held on the 30th April in the Basilica of All Angels in Romula. The highest officials of the state, military representatives, religious leaders, and official delegations from around the world will be present. Tommaso V will be remembered as an Emperor capable of interpreting the Monarchy as a living presence in society, not only symbolic but also concrete, with an authoritative and solemn voice that was not afraid to speak out at crucial moments and on matters of the highest national interest. Her reign represented a period of stability, growth, and cohesion for Istalia, marked by a profound respect for institutions and a constant commitment to promoting the values of national unity and civil progress. Under his reign, the Crown maintained and increased its active role in the country's moral and social affairs, supporting cultural, environmental, and philanthropic initiatives. In foreign policy, Tommaso V distinguished himself as a staunch supporter of Istalian diplomacy, promoting relations of cooperation and friendship between nations. With her accession to the throne, Eleonora I inherits an immense responsibility, but she can already count on a strong emotional bond with her people and an image of a wife and mother devoted to her family. Known for her commitment to the arts, education, and charity, the new Empress has always shown a particular sensitivity to social and environmental issues, embodying the image of a modern, caring, and supportive monarchy. The Imperial Household confirmed also that, as per the wishes expressed by Tommaso V himself, a solemn enthronement ceremony will be held for the new Sovereign, to be held within four months of the state funeral. The event was conceived and desired by Tommaso V to reflect "the dignity and solemnity that the Crown must embody as the supreme symbol of national pride". ROMULA - A majestic silence enveloped Romula today, broken around 10:00 a.m. by the sound of bells throughout the capital, which began to ring in mourning as the funeral procession of the late Tommaso V left Quattroregni Palace for its final journey. The city seemed suspended in time, even as nearly a million people poured into the streets to pay their last respects to the sovereign who passed away suddenly a few days ago, in a tribute of emotion and respect that united an entire nation. Flagpoles, lampposts, and balconies everywhere were adorned with black drapes and black-bordered national flags and imperial banners, while along the route only the solemn music of military bands, the marching of soldiers and the rhythmic clatter of hooves broke the silence. The Imperial coffin, resting on an ancient cannon carriage drawn by six black horses, advanced slowly, preceded and followed by platoons from the Armed Forces and escorted by mounted Imperial Guards. Behind the coffin, on foot, followed the Imperial Family: Empress Eleonora I in the front row, alongside Empress Dowager Melissa, both in veiled black gowns. Prince Consort Marco and the couple's children were just behind them, followed by the rest of the Imperial House, including the Grand Dignitaries of the Crown. The procession, which passed through the main streets of Romula to the Basilica of All Angels, was accompanied by funeral marches and military dirges performed by bands from each branch of the Armed Forces. The solemn music, amplified by the streets of the city center, blended with the soft weeping of the crowd. Upon arrival at the Basilica, the coffin was carried inside by officers of the Imperial Navy, Tommaso V's beloved chosen corps. The entire nave, draped in black drapes and Istalian and imperial banners, was packed with the highest officials of the state, the entire National Congress, religious, academic and industrial representatives, and, of course, the official delegations from every continent. The numerous foreign heads of state and sovereigns who flocked to pay their last respects to the Istalian Emperor are a further testament to the respect and authority Tommaso V has earned, even internationally, recognizing his commitment to promoting dialogue and diplomacy, as well as his determination to defend the honor and dignity of his country and his people. Among the guests, the following certainly stood out: King Leon Alexander of Egelion and New Endralon/Kizenia accompanied by Royal Councilor of Egelion Catalina Mondragon y Astures and the Foreign Minister of New Endralon and Kizenia Cezar Istrati, the Head of the Presidential Council of Nadiya Eva Maria Frolova and the former Tsarina Anastasia Alexanderova, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Empire of Kalistan and Ananto Sir Thomas Harney, the Director for Foreign Affairs of Narikaton & Darnussia Dirk van Held, Emperor Richard II and Empress Valeria of Luthori, accompanied by Prince of Orange William and Princess of Orange Mary and the Prime of Mordusia Denny Woodfort, the Prime Minister of Pontesi, President of Valruzia Urzsula Pawlik, Queen Arianna of Hutori, the Federal President of Dundorf Wolfgang Prawius, the Premier of Xsampa Sherab Aurousseau, the President of Kundrati Alaiza Kubitchek and the Chancellor of the Republic of Badara, Abdul Jabbar accompanied by the Foreign Minister Salman al-Makhtoum. As the Empress and the Imperial Family went inside, the entire Basilica rose to its feet and solemn bows accompanied them to the altar, both sad and profound for the body, filled with reverence for the new Sovereign. The ceremony was officiated by the Bishop of Romula and Primate of Istalia, Monsignor Emilio Poretti, joined for the occasion by the Patriarch of Istalia, Solentia, and Quanzar, His Eminence Samir Twal, who came from Solentia to impart the final blessing. During the service, a choir of one hundred voices sang hymns and anthems that marked the various phases of the service, contributing to a solemn yet emotional atmosphere. After the funeral service, the coffin was carried outside and placed on the state hearse to be carried to the Imperial Mausoleum, parading through the city and crossing the river toward Michele I Imperatore Park, escorted by a second procession. Guests were taken directly to the Mausoleum, while the Imperial Family awaited the body at the entrance of the park. There, the coffin was placed back on the gun carriage, and once again followed on foot by the Imperial Court, it traveled the final kilometer and a half to the Mausoleum escorted by the inseparable imperial guards and a final military honor guard. A farewell secular and state ceremony was held in front of the entrance to the Imperial Mausoleum. This time, it was led by the Archchancellor, who, in his closing commemorative speech, remembered Tommaso V as: Quote:A sovereign who lived the majesty of the Crown as a service and the glory of the Empire as a daily sacrifice. Finally, only the Imperial Family and the High Dignitaries of the Crown followed the coffin into the Mausoleum, witnessing the descent of the coffin into the imperial crypts where Tommaso V will rest alongside the august remains of his predecessors. After the ceremony, Empress Eleonora and the Court returned to Quattroregni Palace, where a standing reception was offered to guests in the gardens. National mourning will continue for another six days: flags will remain at half-mast, civic and religious events will be suspended or reduced and public broadcasting service presenters will continue to wear black attire. All state officials, from ministers to magistrates, from military to civil servants, will wear black armbands, visible sign of their collective participation in the nation's grief. With the burial of Tommaso V's remains in the Imperial Mausoleum, a significant chapter in Istalian history definitively closes. The Emperor, who with authority and sensitivity brought the Crown to the center of the country's civil and moral life, left a strong, respected and beloved throne to his daughter, Eleonora I. And while the lights of Romula's monuments, historic buildings, bridges and skyscrapers were turned off for a night of remembrance, a tearful Nation bid its beloved Emperor farewell for the last time. |
