RE: Likatonia - Veljko Bojovic - 03-01-2025 Progresiva Hosts Forum on Peace Amid Northern Seleya Tensions Clovisport—In the midst of escalating tensions in Northern Seleya, Progresiva held a high-profile forum today to address the crisis sparked by Kalistan’s attempted annexation of Athosia. The event featured party leader Djordje Miketić, Progresiva’s foreign policy expert Nemanja Plavšić, and Kalistani peace activists Élodie Durand and Mateo Fernández. The forum, titled “Pathways to Peace: Diplomacy in Northern Seleya,” was attended by political figures, diplomats, and activists. Progresiva aimed to use the event to promote peaceful resolutions and call for stronger regional cooperation to counter growing instability. Miketić Condemns Aggression In his opening speech, Djordje Miketić strongly condemned Kalistan’s actions, labeling them a “direct threat to the stability of Northern Seleya.” Miketić stated, “The people of Athosia deserve sovereignty, not domination. This is not just about Athosia—it is about ensuring that no nation can rewrite borders through aggression.” He also criticized the silence of major international powers, including Alduria, Luthori, and Gaduridos, for failing to address the crisis, while reaffirming Likatonia’s commitment to supporting Baltusia’s sovereignty. Plavšić Proposes a Path Forward Nemanja Plavšić, Progresiva’s foreign policy expert, provided a detailed overview of the regional implications of the crisis and proposed concrete steps to address the conflict. Among the key proposals was a multilateral dialogue involving all Northern Seleya nations and the establishment of a regional security pact. “We cannot allow Kalistan’s actions to set a dangerous precedent,” Plavšić stated. “It is time for Seleya’s leaders to come together and reaffirm the principles of sovereignty and peaceful coexistence.” Kalistani Activists Speak Out The forum also featured testimony from Kalistani peace activists, Élodie Durand and Mateo Fernández, who condemned their government’s actions and called for diplomacy. Élodie Durand remarked, “We stand against aggression and in solidarity with the people of Athosia. This annexation does not represent the values of peace that many Kalistani citizens hold dear.” Mateo Fernández added, “It is crucial that we, as citizens, voice our opposition to the actions of our government. Kalistan’s imperial ambitions endanger the lives of innocent people, and the international community must act to prevent further escalation.” Calls for Action The event concluded with a question-and-answer session, during which attendees discussed strategies for de-escalation and international cooperation. Progresiva emphasized the importance of maintaining dialogue and preventing further regional instability. As tensions continue to simmer in Northern Seleya, Progresiva’s forum has positioned the party as a leading voice for diplomacy and peaceful resolution, garnering attention both domestically and internationally. As the President of Likatonia, I call for the end to the Kalopian blockade and their invasion and call on the Global Congress to issue sanctions should they continue their operation. I also call on the Ahmadi State to cease all terrorist attacks immediately and we will offer support the Unified Solentian factions in their fight against them should they need it. We need to respect the sovereignty of Solentia and aid them to make a positive political transition instead of invading and blockading as this will only add to the problem." Later on when asked for his opinion on Kalopian operations President Mendelev made a short but powerful statement: "Fighting terror with terror is terrible ; it only leads to the radicalisation of more young men and women." -The Likatonian Chronicle- RE: Likatonia - ironimpaler - 04-01-2025 ![]() President Bertram Mendelev promises humanitarian aid to Solentian people and invites Kalopia and ambassadors of Solentian Groups for peace talks in Clovisport The Likatonian president has promised humanitarian aid to the worst-affected regions of Solentia and will distribute this aid through humanitarian groups on the ground in Solentia. The Likatonian leader has promised that it will not be supplying weapons to any party involved and calls for an immediate ceasefire and peace talks to commence, with fair representation for all parties involved. The President also made a statement whilst campaigning in Clovisport for the elections in September that he thinks "the best weapon against terrorism and radicalisation is a loaf of bread, not a gun or a bomb, as the terror and fear the civilian population suffers rallies them to support terrorism as they wake up to the sound of a missile." Prime Minister Jack May said in a statement that "we call on all NDP congressmen to resign and we will not be renewing the coalition in the upcoming election unless there is drastic change." In further news, the YBI investigation on abuses by the Kundrati state was a complete and utter sham, with all facts and figures being manipulated and distorted to serve a single narrative. Against the wishes of the NDP who are in coalition with the SCP, the President has ordered the severing of all diplomatic ties to Kundrati and has instructed all Likatonians to leave Kundrati at once. The manifesto includes a series of proposals aimed at addressing key national issues, from cultural funding and financial oversight to criminal justice and environmental preservation. Cultural Investment and Oversight Progresiva plans to expand government subsidies for artistic institutions and individual artists on a case-by-case basis. Miketić emphasized the importance of fostering creativity and cultural growth, stating, “Artists are the soul of our society. Supporting them is not only an investment in our culture but also in our national identity.” The manifesto also calls for placing the central bank under the direct oversight of the national legislature, a move designed to increase transparency and ensure that financial policies reflect the will of the people. Democratic Reforms and Fair Compensation One of the most debated points in the manifesto is Progresiva’s proposal to allow criminals to retain their voting rights, regardless of their incarceration status. Miketić defended the policy as a commitment to democratic principles. “No one should lose their voice in shaping the nation’s future,” he said. In a bid to address public concerns about political privilege, the manifesto also proposes a significant reduction in salaries for members of parliament and government. “Public service should not be a path to personal enrichment,” Miketić declared. Environmental Leadership Progresiva reaffirmed its commitment to environmental sustainability with two key policies. The party advocates for a national agency to own and manage all forest land, ensuring its protection and sustainable use. Additionally, the manifesto proposes mandating tree plantation at a replacement level for all logging or clearance operations. “Likatonia’s forests are not just resources—they are a legacy we must protect for future generations,” said Darko Alaburic, who also spoke at the event. Economic Fairness To address growing income inequality, Progresiva’s manifesto includes a proposal to raise the luxury goods tax from 25% to 35%. “It’s time to ensure that those who benefit the most contribute their fair share,” Miketić argued. RE: Likatonia - ironimpaler - 04-01-2025 ![]() COURT FINDS FORMER PRESIDENT ELLIOTT AND OTHER NDP MINISTERS GUILTY OF CORRUPTION AND TREASON After the recent investigation into the corruption within the National Democratic Party, a court has found former President Elliott guilty of corruption that aids a foreign state and minor treason offences. She has been sentenced to 10 years in prison, with other less involved figures such as the former Prime Minister, Quintin Morgan being sentenced to 5 years in prison. The recent investigation found Freya Elliott accepted a bribe of 20 Altyn-IIs and 400 tank rounds via ship. Documents found in the investigation, also found Beiteynu to be significantly involved in the operation to falsify the investigation into Kundrati labour camps to manipulate the report to justify the continuation of Likatonian-Kundrati relations. Beiteynu also met Kundrati diplomats, possibly secretly aiding them in some fashion. This investigation proves Kundrati is a pariah state and should not be dealt with due to it's human rights abuses and that Beiteynu, and the National Democratic party cannot be trusted as supporters of facism. With the election looming the SCP will be hoping that the voter considers the corruption of the NDP before making its decision. -The Likatonian Chronicle- RE: Likatonia - ironimpaler - 04-01-2025 ![]() President Mendelev condemns Beiteynu invasion against Xsampa calling for an immediate ceasefire and a diplomatic resolution In a short statement the President condemned the recent invasion and strikes against Xsampa, he called Beiteynu to halt its plans and for a diplomatic resolution to be found. Mendelev called for Global Congress to intervene and says sanctions will be imposed on Beiteynu should they not halt their invasion. He also commented that whilst he understands it is a complicated conflict, he hopes both nations realise that the cost on human suffering isn't worth a couple square kilometres of land. Experts at the Chronicle believe the war will continue and Mendelev's plea for peace will be nothing but whispers in a loud room. -The Likatonian Chronicle- RE: Likatonia - Infinite1 - 04-01-2025 Defenders of Democracy: NDP rises in the polls as election nears ![]() Lionel Crosby says he was not aware of this corruption scandal that has recently been brought to light, he says this happened under a previous administration bribes where accepted, and former president Elliott takes full responsibility. Mr Crosby says that former president Elliott is no longer a member of the national democratic party and retired from politics a long time ago. We're going to move on from this, the national democratic party will emerge stronger and will learn from this. We spoke to Lionel Crosby earlier today about the upcoming elections, Quote:We have bolted the coalition and we will not seek to renew it because all the social conservatives seem to care about is what happened in the past, they want to intervene militarily in the solentian conflict which we strongly oppose. We are heading towards another election which will determine the future of the nation, this is a battle for the soul of the nation. We aren't focused on what happened in the past, we have a recipe for change, we're going to win back Likatonia we're going to be a very, very properous nation and they know it . They want to cozy up to Kalistan despite their attempted annexation of athosia, President Mendelev now has no mandate to govern he knows this. After news hit that former president Elliott would be sentenced to 10 years in prison, Likatonian's immediately took to social media to label the corruption trials a witch hunt and a sham trial. The NDP appear to be gaining supporters off the back off this corruption scandal. Protests against the social conservative government have also rocked Clovisport as president Mendelev appears to be clinging onto power by his fingertips. With elections coming up shortly this is not good news at all for the social conservative government. The social conservatives have lost their way a long time ago, they can no longer be trusted to govern. Vote National Democratic Party, vote for change, vote for a party that will put Likatonians first. Only in Likatonia. Clovisport Chronicle Clovisport, Likatonia |
