RE: A Battle Unseen - Dredd - 13-12-2024

Kundrati Headquarters Kaesama, Presidential Office
October 5584

Quote:Bronislav looked down at the report compiled about the agents he ordered into port elga to establish a foothold clandestinely. Interior minister Denis Komárek watched silently waiting for his reply. Bronislavs eye twitched a few times as he rubbed his temples slowly, running his hand down the scar that stretched down his eye, a stark reminder of what failure means.

"Komárek, do you have any idea how fucking unnacceptable this is? These arrogant Kalistani dirt farmers have been subverting us at every corner, and our first attempt is a resounding goddamn failure!" He yelled, slamming his fist onto the table, pencils flying.

"I understand sir, these fledgling agents were new-hires in the FIS, its still resisting the new regime is some capacity and its been necessary to include green but loyal agents...I assure you this will not happen again."

"For your sake, you better pray it doesnt, I have no patience nor tolerance for failure, the forces of Satan are bearing down on our doorstep in this anti-eliyahu bitch in the flesh that calls herself Empress dares critique us? PAH!" Bronislav spat out with venom, "Get out of my sight, I've got more plans to make on account of this shit..."

Komárek saluted and turned, walking towards the doors

"Oh and one more thing Komárek, I hope your family is enjoying the new dog, I've been keeping up on them closely, lovely kids..." Bronislav turned back to his paper writing vigorously

Komárek clenching his jaw briskly left the office, dreading what another failure might mean for him

RE: A Battle Unseen - MrFacts - 14-12-2024

A(ri Rabinowitz) gives is findings to T(ova Kadiyot).
November 5580

Ari has found quite a lot, he never understood that people of power go beyond the moral lines to increase their power, but wel may be that is why he serves, instead of having a power position, he accepted that faith, a long time ago.

He enteres the study room, as Miss Kadiyot is reading her books, as she is a fervent reader, he walks in the studyroom with a straight back and proud smile on his faces.

A: Hello miss, i have news.

T: welcome back Ari, spit it out.

A: in this enveloppe, you will find everything you need and want.

T: Lay it on the table, thank you, that will be all.  While she waves with her hand.

Ari walks out of the studyroom and leaves the mansion.

Tova on the other sets her book on the table next to her seat and walks towards the table where Ari put the enveloppe.

Excited, she opens the enveloppe and sees, bank statements, transactions and even cellphones records of all the houses of the Khan's. A smile occurs on her face as she walks towards her sfae, where even Aram doesn't know the combination of. Before entering the code, she gets a shiver on her back and watch behind her, but it appears it was only her small paranoia kicking in.

Tova meets with Rowian Pntekyan, Khan of the house of Pntek.
April 5581

T(ova Kadiyot- has a meeting with R(owian Pntekyan), a special meeting, as her plan unfolding. people are starting to show their frustration, and she has some prove that could tip the chances of the houses, she needs to find the proper way to talk to Rowian.

She entered the houses official office building, where she ented the office of Rowian, whe she is been greeting and welcomed by Rowian.
Tova walks in, distantly knodds to Rowian, as she isn't very fond of him, but he is needed as the house of Pntek is the important link that was needed to enter the Jelbic Empire, while holding a big brown enveloppe adressed to the house of Pntek..

R: Youre grace, i wondered why you would ask a meeting with me, outside of the Bazmuyut. Curious looks at the brwon enveloppe, but awaits the answer of Tova.

T: mmm, we are in desperate needs to talk...

R: i'm listening. Is that enveloppe adressed to me?

T: don't worry about the enveloppe for now, that comes later. I want to talk about the incapability of the Bazmuyut lately, while the king has had some troubles with his health.

R: shocked and starting to get defensive. What do you mean? we have succesfully withheld the Istalians and pushed them of our lands.

T: if that is what you want to call it, i see things differantly. I need the houses the step back of their political power. give the people a sort of democraty. I want to give you a chance in agreeing to my offer, when Aram becomes king, he will ask the bazmuyut to resolve, the only think i ask is that you agree to it, all of the houses will remain with their accumulated wealth and still can have an importance economically and culturally? The house on Pntek will be able to start the a political party that will have more power then it has now.

R: how would i agree to that? more work and less benefits? What about the Jelbic Empire?

T: I have no intention and neither does Aram to leave the JE, they are of great value of Pontesi and myself included. Throws the enveloppe and says, my offer still stand, for now.

R: opens the enveloppe and sees the transactions, goes white and looks shocked towards Tova.

T: yes, what is it going to be?

R: i will oblige, as i have no choice, you have my word.

Tova knodds and leaves the building.

The day of a Kundrati Labor Inmate - Dredd - 16-12-2024

Kundrati, February 5585

Quote:Work, or die.

It was a simple mantra. Three simple words. Words that Leon repeated to himself each day as he awoke at dawn to work the arms factory, along with two dozen other workers who had been conscripted. Some of his friends in the lumber field had protested. They were lumberjacks, not assembly workers. They knew nothing about the trade. A few had been subsequently shot, two rounds in the forehead. They weren’t worth torturing and putting back into the work lines.

Work, or die.

The labor was backbreaking in a different way than he was used to. He had cut trees for a living, and even he was exhausted. The land around the factory would be beautiful, had he not found people passed out or dead on the concrete floor or lines. He couldn’t stop working though. Legionary overseers patrolled, and the unproductive were culled. There were always more who took their place.

Work, or die.

Some days he worked at the open air tank lots, inside that blot on the idyllic countryside. One where the armored vehicles were repurposed and refitted. You had to be careful not to lose hands or fingers, like many workers did. But even then you could not stop. Wrap a cloth around the stump and keep working, because otherwise you would vanish.

Work, or die.

He woke up before sunrise, and he returned after sunset. He fell unconscious besides a wife he’d not spoken to in days, having barely earned enough money to feed her for the day. Yet he couldn’t stop, because if he stopped, he would die, and so would she. So he repeated the mantra, again and again, because he had no choice.

RE: A Battle Unseen - MrFacts - 17-12-2024

T(ova Kadiyot) meets up with the 4 other houses.
May 5581

Tova had the conference room booked in the government building in Melikvan, with the reason of trying to find more investments for het maternity hospital, but was that the reason for the meeting?

Tova had for put 4 brown enveloppes with each a differant name of the khans of the houses put on each seat at the table, sitting at the head with her legs crossed, staring with a smile to the door, waiting with a sort of thrill on the Khan's.

the first one to enter is M(arsyan Mazdagaryan), the khan of the house Mazdagar, he walks in cautious, as he heard rumours that Tova is gracious and beautifull, but also ruthless. Ofcourse, he has nothing to worry about, this is only about a potential investment, wich could appease the people as tensions are rising, why would he need to worry? he seas the brown enveloppe and sees his name on one of them, he assumes its for him and looks to tova, who had changes position and put her hands with her fingers crossed in each other on the table, while smiling and knodding to Marshyan, he takes a seat and wanted to open the enveloppe, but Tova interrupts him, "thats for later".

A(rtyom Sigurkyan) is the second to enter, he is a confident and proud person, he enters the room and sees the enveloppes and sees on one his name, as he walks towards his seat and enveloppe, he says "all this trouble and effort to get us here. Aram really needs to give you some attention." Tova just gave a smaile.

S(uren Aridian), Very loyal to Ponto-Selucians, comes in the room and greets Tova and the rest, while trying to read the room, wich is deadly silent.

Ar(sen Rajutti), enters the room as the last one and greets everyone, but is curious to the enveloppes, but takes nervously a seat at the enveloppe with his name.

T: Welcome, i would like that all of you wait to open the enveloppe, what is in there could... how do i say this? kill the vibe, is it that what kids say these days?

M, A, S and A all looking at each other confused, but their heart bouncing in their throat.

T: i would like to give you a chance to take my proposal without anything else first. We all know that King Aris is struggling with his health, i am going to ask you when Aram is crowned king, that you will accept his request to dissolve the Bazmuyut and have a somewhat democraty, to apeace the people. You will hold on to youre accumelated wealth, wich you could use for building you're own economic network,.

A: WHAT? you called us inhere for... this joke? you must be dellussional. he stands up, followed by Marshyan and Arsen, while Suren remains seated.

S: i will, it's better to step down of the the Bazmuyut, as it has done great things for Pontesi, it also has been proven in moments where unity is needed to fail and that is not what Pontesians, Jelbics and espeiacally my people need.

T: stands up and takes his enveloppe and rips it apart, and says: i would suggest to all of you to open the enveloppe and to know that if you don't agree when the time there, it will go public and you will lose everything. This proposal gives you still something and will expire if you refuse to step down.

Tova walks out, letting the houses in confusion.

RE: A Battle Unseen - Doc - 18-12-2024

Wilson House, Offices of Her Imperial Majesty, Empress Carolina I Ananto
7:30 PM

Quote:"You may enter," said the Empress.

The door opened, and the Chancellor walked slowly in, head bowed to stand before the Empress.  "Your Imperial Majesty," said Dame Dianne Bolton, Chancellor of the Empire, with her eyes averted.

"Please Madame have a seat."  Dame Bolton did as she was bid.  She waited a moment for the Empress to speak.  She knew the protocol was to wait for the Empress to speak, but she didn't hear anything from the Empress.  10 seconds went by, fifteen excruciating seconds.  Finally, Dame Bolton dared to start the conversation.

"Your Imperial Majesty, I believe you summoned me."

The Empress, who was staring at her seemed to be deep in thought.  "Madame Chancellor, We would like your advice on a matter."

"How may I be of service to the Empire?" asked Dame Bolton.

"We read reports of horrific reprisals against Kalistani Nationals who have been captured by Kundrati militants in Artania.  Would you care to brief us on this issue?"

"Your Imperial Majesty," Dame Bolton wasn't quite sure what she should say.  How much did the Empress already know?  She is often at least as informed as the Chancellor on virtually everything.  Briefings were a regular affair, but they are usually given before the Empress makes a large decision.  She has all manner of contacts with the IBSI, which, though technically illegal, are nonetheless very willing to inform the Empress about everything she wants to know.  So why is she asking the Chancellor for a briefing?  This was quite suspicious...

"Your Imperial Majesty," said Dame Bolton again.  "The people who were captured and, unfortunately killed, were members of the Militia.  They were bringing arms and funds to the KPP."

The Empress nodded and waited for Dame Bolton to continue.  "They came through a checkpoint from Endralon, and the Fascists were alerted to them.  We think their cover slipped somehow, and the fascists intercepted them six miles in the country, and took them all, along with the weapons and the money."

The Empress stared at Dame Bolton.  She usually had a smile for the Chancellor, but today, the Empress' sober face filled Dame Bolton with dread.  "How many were killed?" She asked frankly.

"We lost 14," said the Chancellor.

"And then 21 at sea?"

"42 actually, Your Imperial Majesty."

"This business is costing us dearly, is it not, Madame Chancellor?"

"Fighting fascism is costly, and we don't have it as bad as your kinsmen, Your Imperial Majesty."

"Very correct Madame Chancellor."

As the Chancellor looked closely at the Empress, she could tell that the monarch had been crying.  The Empress never displayed this kind of emotion around anyone, publicly anyhow.  The Chancellor was staring now, and the Empress spoke to her.

"Our mother was great friends with your predecessor.  At the end of her life, Dame Ontiveros, who nearly shared the same fate with our father, and Dame DuMont were among her only friends.  We had the meeting, surely, but they stopped coming to visit when our Mother began losing her faculties.  It was too much for most of them to watch our mother decline.  She was so beautiful and so scary in a lot of ways--  Dame Ontiveros was with us when our mother passed.  One of the few people permitted to sit with her as she was dying.  We do not have a friend like that, Dame Bolton:  Even our husband can not serve in a role like this.  So we require those who serve us to tell us honest truths when we need to hear them, no matter what the cost or how hard it is to say what needs to be said.  Do you understand what we are getting at?"

"Yes, Your Imperial Majesty, I think so," said Dame Bolton.

"Then tell us, in your professional opinion, do you think we should return our Kalistani Brothers and Sisters before more are murdered by this war-criminal regime back to the Empire?"

The Chancellor thought for a moment, and then, slowly at first, she answered, "No Your Imperial Majesty."

"Do you think more Kalistani's will die?"

"Yes, Your Imperial Majesty."

"Then why should we put our Militia in harms way?"

The Chancellor Chose her words very carefully.  "Your Imperial Majesty, I don't believe we should, not necessarily."

"There is a but there," astutely added The Empress.

"The people who have been lost were all volunteers, Your Imperial Majesty." said the Chancellor.  "They signed up for this, to fight this fight.  They aren't ordered to be there.  They believe in what the Militia's mission is, which is to fight to roll back fascism in Kundrati, to hurt them in every way possible.  We have tens of thousands of people who have signed up for foreign duty, either as sailors or partisans.  Your aren't putting them in harm's way, they go there willingly and if you attempted to stop them, they would find a way to get out there anyway."

The Empress looked at the Chancellor, took a short breath, and a resolute look crossed her face.  "Madame, Your Party requires discipline."

The Chancellor's feeling of dread had passed.  "Your Imperial Majesty, you are correct as usual."  A small smile crossed the Empress' face, as if to say, "Of course."

"Madame Chancellor, please see to it that their families are compensated for their loss in service to the Empire."

"Your Imperial Majesty, it will be done this afternoon."

"Thank you Madame Chancellor.  Your candor is very welcomed."  The Chancellor took that as a dismissal, and stood up, bowed politely, and backed out of the office, as the Empress returned to her work.

RE: A Battle Unseen - Kubrick - 18-12-2024

Royal Palace, Wiel, Kingdom of Wrnuke, 2 March 5587, 8:57

In the mirror he saw a weathered face with a big grey beard. His eyes a deep dark brown like they ever were, but the rest of him was changing. It was a cruel fate, one could be the most powerful person on this planet and still age and wither? Was this his punishment for following Elyon? Recently his thoughts had begun to linger more with Tanhri and Zol, the gods of his Jelbic ancestors. Often he would dream vividly about the greatness his forefathers accomplished under the guiding hand of the Skyfather and the Bright One. Though the great Merklai H'án had discarded these gods for the word of the Hosian Elyon. Perhaps all goods are one, perhaps the world needed a new religion, one of conquest and obedience, one where he could not be betrayed. Yes. His train of thought was disturbed by a knock. His heart rate went up. They had come for him. The military had betrayed him at last. "Your Majesty, your 9 AM with the Prefect is about to start, should I tell him to wait or are you ready?" Oh, it was only Altán, his life guard. A feeling of ease came over him and he responded. "Yes, see him in, thank you." He shuffled out of the bathroom into his private office to meet his good friend General Krlmékez. Grzkai had been one of the few loyal ones, one of the few he could still trust. As he went to his chair he ignored the tingling feel in his left hand.

For a long time the Prefect spoke to him about the changing situation. Zardugal had ousted the communist anti-Jelbic peasant for a more reasonable man, an almost grandfatherly figure who was ready and willing to speak. All operations had to be ceased, the invasion should be cancelled. The world would judge us. The Zards had no further plans to blow up the pipeline or attack and provoke the Jelbic Empire. He could not believe it, his most loyal one? Grzkai? Betraying him? Was there no end to this treason, it was clear to him these Augustan dogs had to be put down once and for all, his great ancestor Lawrns-Wrntukai had almost died fighting these animals. He interrupted the Prefect by slamming his tingling hand on the desk. "No! No! No!" The Prefect looked at him in shock. "They are our enemy, they are plotting against us, Grzkai can you not see? Who has poisoned your loyal ears! The pipeline, they will cut off our oil! Th-they will assassinate senior figures, that dog Grop-Gropper, whatever his name, that Augustan dog will invade Jelbe! The H'án does not have the numbers, he will turn his treasonous cloak! They will all betray us, the Empire will collapse!" Trembling with anger he stood up but he felt a slight imbalance as he did, nonetheless his tirade continued. "We must destroy the Augustan menace, we must- we must be saviour of the-the world must and- Jelbic.. Tanhri- the sky." The tingling stopped as he lost feeling in his arm and his left leg, he was confused and unable to form words. Then it all went dark.

On the other side of the desk.

He had never seen the Emperor this distraught, of course he had been ever more paranoid in recent years but he had always seen reason. Then he stood up, raging and raving before just falling over. It took a second to settle in his mind but he jumped up, started shouting for help and put the Emperor in a side position. Royal Guards rushed in and before he knew it there were doctors, servants, even RSB officers in the office with him. He left the fallen Emperor in the care of the professionals and paced across the halls of the Royal Palace. An hour later a Royal Guard came running to him, pale as a ghost: "General.. the Emperor has passed away." His heart sank and in the corner of his eye he saw RSB officers rushing away. There was no time.

RE: A Battle Unseen - Kubrick - 18-12-2024

Emperor Bunjamín Naval Station, Brakav Free Democratic Republic, Trigunia, 2 March 5587, 12:21

With a sigh he hit the save button on yet another file. He did not mind the easy promotions he had gotten due to his background as the son of the Emperor but the more men you lead, the more time you spend behind a desk. As a battalion commander, he was now a Lieutenant Colonel, he had six-hundred marines underneath his direct command. The entire compliment of amphibious infantry the II. Vlótzgrsho carried. Luckily the job came with many other officers that suffered the same desk curse as himself. Just as he was about to open the next file for review a naval officer stepped into his office. "Sir, the Captain has requested to see you as soon as possible." He gave the man a nod. The urgency was odd, the Captain was a laid-back man and not prone to rushing people.

When he entered the office of Captain Mitokai he saw the uneasy look on his face. "Captain?" He asked, slightly hesitating. "Close the door." Is all he responded, so he obliged. "It's not good, Wrntukai, not good at all." The Captain was one of the few people outside his family that spoke to him on a first name basis, usually only during private dinners, never during 'business hours' as they called serving together. "It pains me I have to bring you this news, but there is more, so forgive me as I tell it all quite rapidly." He could feel his heart sink, his instincts knew it was about his father. "The Emperor suffered a stroke this morning, doctors were on the scene only minutes later but.. there was nothing they could do." His loving father had died. Recently they had not talked as much as before, but it was clear his father wasn't doing too great for a few years now. Still, this came as a shock to him. "And the other news, Juhn?" Anger flashed in Captain Mitokai's eyes as he spoke the next word, he almost spat them out. "They are trying to steal your throne, to make you a pawn in their game. That snake Amrun apparently had a plan up his sleeve to use your absence and the Emperor's incapacitation to declare war on Zardugal. The Prefect, I'm not sure what his plan is.. but he declared martial law and a state of emergency. The RSB and the Armed Forces are about to go to war, Wrntukai." He clenched his fist. "I must return to Wrnuke." The Captain smiled at that statement. "As your father has passed, you are by all rights now King of Wrnuke and Emperor of the Jelbic Peoples - give the command, my liege." Only then did the reality of the situation hit him. "Signal the fleet, we depart as soon as we can."

RE: A Battle Unseen - Doc - 18-12-2024

International Terminal, Jildrathi International Airport, Etxea, Kundrati
8:45 am

Quote:Flight 609 from Aikums touched down in Kundrati's largest city.  Flying over the town, it looked relatively calm, but Mike Jones, travelling under the name Ainārs Kalniņš, a Dolgavan tourist, knew his time in this country would be anything but peaceful.  He was selected for this job not because of his background in espionage; he had none.  He was selected because he was the only Vrassan in the Militia who could speak fluent Dolgavian.  And his cover was necessary to blend into as a tourist.

As Jones collected his bags and arrived at customs, a very serious looking official scoped him out.  Jones handed him his fake passport, provided by the friendly agents at IBSI, and the border controller scanned it.  His name came up which matched both the passport and the immigration card.  That was in order.  The customs official held the picture up to Jones' face:  He had a beard in the photo but was clean shaven here.  Similar enough though.

"Nondik zatoz, jauna?" The customs officer asked in Lurrian.

"Man nav ko deklarēt." Jones responded in Dolgavian, answering the wrong question.

"Berriz ere: Nondik iristen zara Kundratira?" repeated the customs agent.

"Es... es nesaprotu.  Ko tu man jautā?" Jones responded that he did not understand.

The customs official let out a slight sigh and switched to Luthorian and speaking in a thick Lurrian accent, asked: "From where come you Kundraji?"

Jones smiled, gratefully, and responded in an equally heavily Dolgavian-accented Vrassan:  "I come...  from... Aikums...  Dolgavas Impērija."

The customs official nodded.  "What purpose is visit Kundraji?"

Jones carefully answered, "Tourism, I wish to buy house retire some day."

The customs agent responded, "There is fight in Kundraji. In North.  Not safe to foreign."

Jones nodded, "House in Etxea then."

The customs official nodded officially.  "How long stay Kundraji?"

Jones thought, as long as it takes, but responded in his heavily Dolgavian inflected Vrassan "Two weeks.  Have conference at work after."

The customs officer looked Jones over again, and his eyes narrowed.  For a moment he thought he detected a slip in the accent...  "Please open bag."

Jones feigned nervousness.  "Uh...  Bag?  What...  I..."

The customs agent pointed at his luggage and then pointed at the table.  "Please open bag.  Will search."

Jones apprehensively picked up his luggage, and placed it on the counter.  He wasn't carrying anything incriminating, but nonetheless, he felt like he should prepare in case his cover slipped, to give him a way to play it off in country.  The customs agent opened the luggage, and started rifling through the clothing, and found a copy of a Kerisian pornography magazine, which he took.  "Is contraband."  Jones looked sheepishly at the customs agent, who then began to unzip a small compartment in the lid of the suitcase.

"No.. please, Sir.  No need check there..."  said Jones, putting his hands out like he was trying to stop the customs officer.  The agent shot a sharp look at Jones, and said sternly, "Please step back."  Jones dropped his hand, and allowed to agent to continue to search.

The agent unzipped the compartment and reached inside, and pulled out a blue lacy bra and a pair of black panties.  Jones let out an embarrassed, nervous laugh.  The Customs agent looked at him, as if asking him to explain.  With a nervous smile, Jones shrugged and said "Old habit?"

The countenance on the face of the Official grew dark.  Unceremoniously, he threw the women's underwear onto the rest of the clothing, muttering "Perbertso madarikatua." and closed the luggage.  He then stamped the Immigration card with the official stamp and the date, stamped the entrance stamp in the passport, and put the immigration card into the passport before snapping it back to Jones.  "Don't lose."

As Jones took the passport, the customs agent turned his eyes to the line and said "Hurrengoa!", and Jones hurried through the border check point.  He rushed past the security agents near the revolving door that led outside, hailed a taxi, and gave the cab driver the address of a house in Jildrath City.  There he would meet with the IBSI station chief, who would make an introduction to Lucius Silencio, who is with the Kundrati Air Force, to begin coordinating the arrival of Kalistani Militia.

RE: A Battle Unseen - Mbites - 18-12-2024

Friday, 9AM.
Jorgen Island, Freiheit, Lackmann Residence

"Your majesty!"

The never ending knocking caused the headache of Theodora to flare up again.
In response to the constant nagging of her servants she only let out manical screams.

"Please you have to come out! The people need you, the countr.-"

"SCREW THE COUNTRY, THERE IS NO COUNTRY WITHOUT MY BUNJIE!!!"

The servants got worried as Theodora was clearly throwing stuff around and lunging at the walls.

"HOW DARE HE LEAVE ME HERE, ALL ALONE?!"

Theodora sank to the floor, perpetually switching between laughing, crying, screaming and sobbing exhaustedly.

The knocking didnt stop. Then there was it, beautifully smiling at her eyes, the sharp knife she usually uses to open letters with.
Ah. Finally. The Knocking stopped.
