LANGUAGE

Xsampan (Tibetic) languages are spoken throughout the country. In official contexts, the most commonly used language is Standard Xsampan (Lhasa Tibetan). For historic reasons, Yingdalan (Mandarin Chinese) is widely spoken throughout the country, especially in business and government. Kudan (Hausa) is spoken as a first language by a small minority.
