The Conservative's plurality seems almost guaranteed as latest polls show their popularity hovering around forty-five percent of the vote, followed by the incumbent Solidarity with twenty-seven percent. The leftist coalition has stumbled through failure after failure these past few months, and infighting has begun between the Democratic Socialist and Social Democratic members of the alliance following the resignation of Nóra Ryan as the alliance's chair.  The National Coalition and Liberty Alliance have been competing for the third position on the polls, but polling now suggests that the Nationalists have gained a two percent lead. Despite this, Liberty Alliance has entered into preliminary coalition talks with the Conservatives, opening the way for a blue coalition. We can expect this coalition to entail mainly market oriented policies, alongside social and cultural conservatism. RE: Kirlawa - Nileowen - 11-04-2025 5633 Dáil Election  October 28th 5633 Final Results Kirlawan Conservative Alliance - 135 seats - 45% Solidarity Alliance - 84 seats - 28% National Coalition - 33 seats - 11% Liberty Alliance - 27 seats - 9% Other - 12 seats - 4% Green Party - 9 seats - 3% A coalition has been formed by the KCA and LA following talks, and it will see KCA Chairman Ruairí Cairbre Ó Donnghaile take the position of Ceann-Aire while the LA takes up some minor cabinet positions. The new Ceann-Aire is expected to be sworn in next week by President Ó Briain, and the cabinet to be selected by the end of it. RE: Kirlawa - Nileowen - 11-04-2025 Chief Minister forms the Health Service Executive November 19th 5633 The Chief Minister has announced the creation of the Health Service Executive, a publicly funded healthcare system responsible for the provision of health and personal social services. The HSE is set to replace the dispersed and disorganised variety of institutions and boards that currently manage the health system, instead centralising it under the Ministry of Health and Social Services. It has been tasked with addressing major issues such as hospital overcrowding, serious delays in assisting disabled children, low staff retention rates and privacy failures. To assist the HSE, the Health Audit Board has been set up, alongside the Medical Card Programme, which entitles eligible citizens to additional services and free prescription medication and appliances. RE: Kirlawa - Nileowen - 12-04-2025 RE: Kirlawa - Nileowen - 19-04-2025 The National Agricultural Trade Corporation has Begun Exports to Kundrati 9th October 5635 The National Agricultural Trade Corporation has begun exports of Kirlawan agricultural produce to the neighbouring Kundrati Legionary State. The exports began earlier today with the first truck crossing the border at two in the morning, with many others following. The action comes as the first major action of the NATC with goals having been set to reach more nations. The action has generally been met with approval from within the nation, with both the largest conventional corporation, Harvest National, and cooperative, Golden Grain, airing their approvals on the initiative, while the Solidarity Alliance and Green Party have protested the action on moral grounds. Solidarity has claimed that the export of agricultural produce to a supposed “fascist” nation is a moral and ethical failing of NATC and has in turn demanded that all exports be stop as soon as possible. Dr. Réamonn Donovan, the recently appointed Chief Executive of NATC has stated the exports will continue however, and that the additional funds would be used to support the government economic agenda. Minister for Agriculture Cathal Brunty has also responded to the objections by stating "that the export of food is a non-harmful act, and when a nation is a in state of insecure food supply, it instead becomes a moral imperative to export food instead, regardless of the government of the nation being exported to." RE: Kirlawa - Nileowen - 22-04-2025 CORE Act passed, mass nationalisations underway August 15th 5636 The government has passed the Civil Oversight and Regulation of the Economy Act, or CORE Act, establishing the National Economic Direction Authority and granting it sweeping powers to issue binding directives to ministries, firms and institutions,  alongside the ability to enforce penalties should entities fail to heed those directives. The Act has given NEDA jurisdiction over most economic sectors, and has entrusted it with the duty of directing the national economy. It has also established Offices and subdivisions of NEDA, each of which is to ensure that firms and unions within their specific domain adhere to quotas, standards and national planning cycles. Outlines for these cycles are to be published by NEDA at the end of every year, and will be reviewed by legislature to be approved or denied. NEDA has already begun mass nationalisations of important sectors and the reorganisation and merging of the companies in those sectors. Sectors with mergers underway already are: energy, with the National Power Authority, heavy industry, with the National Manufacturing Corporation, agriculture, with the Grain and Food Authority, infrastructure, with the National Infrastructure Development Corporation, and mining, with the Dunmore Basin Extraction Company. Further nationalisations are yet to be announced, while the first planning cycle is being drafted. RE: Kirlawa - Nileowen - 04-05-2025 How much bureaucracy is too much? September 15th 5639 Kirlawa is bureaucratic hell for the average person. For ever single little change I want to make about my life I have to fill out next to a dozen forms to be sent off to nine different technocrats, with a high chance I'll have to start over with extra should one of them deny it. This isn't even an exaggeration, this is what happened to me when I wanted to build a shed in my back garden three months back, but I can't because the land that is supposedly mine is not truly mine to use. That's the problem with Kirlawa's system, the state controls all economic resources, and such control grants bureaucrats discretionary power over our lives. Nothing is sacred to far off bureaucrats more concerned with regulations, schedules, quotas and procedures, especially not how us nobodies live our lives. They're also taking advantage of this power to assists their friends with favours, or to take bribes that us regular people can't pay.  How much is enough? How much longer can we be reduced to numbers on a spreadsheet while our lives are planned? When will it end? RE: Kirlawa - Nileowen - 23-05-2025 KLP's Aiden Byrne 'deeply concerned' over questionable Central Bank reports April 2nd 5644 The Kirlawan Libertarian Party's Aiden Byrne has questioned why certain items in the recent report from the Central Bank have been redacted. The TD highlighted the disparity in the report as he spoke of "the necessity of fiscal transparency concerning our public accounts". Speaking at the Public Accounts Committee, he called for the Central Bank to permit the Committee to view the "origins and destinations of these funds". A bank representative spoke before the Committee, stating that the funds had been redacted in order to "protect the privacy and dignity of members of the public". The Committee has since moved on from the matter. Public Reaction: Very Low - Government Reaction: Very Low RE: Kirlawa - Integralist - 04-12-2025 Stephen Kilpatrick appointed Chief Minister, what now? 9th February 5693 The chieftain of Kirlawa's alternate centre, Stephen Zeph Quinlan Kilpatrick, has prevailed in his pursuit of plurality in the Dáil and appointment to the office of Chief Minister. Following a particularly intense campaign, including major scandals such as now former CM Evanson's mistreatment of party staff and misuse of funds, or the Green Party's not so green purchases, Clann na Tíre has secured 135 seats, 45% of the Dáil. Thanks to their prepared coalition agreement, a government has been formed with the League of Kirlawan Workers, and changes are expected to begin soon. Before we talk about expected changes, we must first talk about Stephen Kilpatrick, and Clann na Tíre. A retired navy commodore, Kilpatrick had been described as radically moderate, and an opponent of what he describes as "meaningless politics". It is of little doubt that his military background will play into his policies, though his party has not put forward a plan for military development, despite demands for urgent improvements. Other issues he is outspoken on are the north-south divide, the over-centralisation of the government, and the lack of accommodation to minority languages. These are in line with Clann na Tíre's proposed policies, who has also put forward an industrial development plan, which aims to develop the nation's heavy industry, alongside a renewal of the neglected rail and road networks. Other proposed plans are the move to a bicameral system, shifting of powers to the local governments, and the granting of autonomy to minority groups. CnaT has also adopted the ideas of the LoKW by advocating for the breaking up of large businesses into medium sized firms, along with stronger worker protections and increased post-secondary education.  In all, the future looks bright for the Republic of Kirlawa.
