We Stand for the People

As tensions continue to rise, the Revolutionären Volkspartei has issued a clear statement to the Volkskammer, mentioning that they fight and stand for the people, rather than for their personal gain. Being insulted and rudely addressed, Edward Klaus made his statement quite clear earlier this morning when he recieved first hand news of the Titov interview.

Titov is nothing more than a corrupt capitalist which seeks to reform the economy, secularize the country and go against the values the people truly believe in. The Revolutionären Volkspartei has been growing in all directions, and with over one million members a majority of these happen to be secular. We have supported religion as it has had an important impact on the people but now times have changed. The younger population believes in separation for better equality and prosperity and so no one is discriminated because of their religion. That in mind, we are taking this into account and are willing to vote as such dictated by the people and not for our personal gains.

The harsh exchange of political rivalry has not been improved by the Revolutionären Volkspartei's announcement of their political paramilitaries strength. Edward Klaus, the leader of the party has announced that the People's Liberation Army has reached a peak strength of 900,000 men and women wishing to serve the Revolutionären Volkspartei, with another 20,000 in reserve. Purchasing modern military equipment and training to use modern military tactics it is unknown how the future of Dorvik can be seen with an army which has been deemed "evil, just evil" as has the party by the minority parties.

Titov: We Will Seek Mandate

Standing outside of the Volkskammer today, Chancellor Ilya Titov has confirmed that he will stare down the Revolutionären Volkspartei against accusations that his government does not represent the people.

"We will be willing to give the RVP a chance to turn words into actions," he said to the press. "It is hubris which will kill their chances of ever forming government in Dorvik."

Asked whether he was concerned about the party's para-military activity, he refused to comment. "The military continues to operate at standard national readiness, and serves Dorvik not one ideology or another. I have full faith that even if the President went mad and ordered them to subvert the course of democracy that the men and women of our armed forces are of clear minds."

He has confirmed that a bill requesting early elections will be tabled first thing.

Election Swings to Coalition, but Seiler Re-Elected

Having had his mandate extended by another four years, Chancellor Titov was today celebrating the coalition's victory in snap elections against the Revolutionären Volkspartei. Extending their majority by another 49 seats, the biggest winner was the Dorvik Christian Party with a personal swing of +11%, or 55 seats. United Dorvik traded in 21 seats, 15 or which went to the Volkspartei who have largely a similar political platform. The victory is a moral one for Titov, who up until yesterday was being accused of leading a government that went against the wishes of the people. He was seeking a victory hoping to put his opponents to shame.

Meanwhile, President Seiler of the RVP has been re-elected for his third consecutive term. Some pollsters were putting the Dorvik Christian Party candidate somewhat in front of the incumbent. The election results in the Volkskammer and for the President are mixed ones as they do little to resolve issues of the status quo, including the disagreement between the President and the Foriegn Office with regards to conducting overseas policies.

Only time will tell how the parties will react to the moderate shift around in politics.

A "Green" Revolution
The New "Revolutionären Volkspartei"
Image

Over years of political disagreement, years in government and large public support Dorvik has seen one of the largest political transformations yet. The often in conflict, Revolutionären Volkspartei has officially been transformed and integrated into the newly created Dorvishe Bauernpartei, a Christian Democratic, Socially Conservative, Socialist party in the Volksrepublik Dorvik. The Revolutionären Volkspartei known for its internal political turmoil for many years was unable to create a stable government despite an offer from the Volkspartei. As such, Erik Kohler, the party's leader decided to integrate his party and his brothers, Markus Kohler's Dorvishe Bauernpartei. Despite being two different parties, the integration was quite easy to complete as both parties had literally the same political views, however the Revolutionären Volkspartei was openly much more radical. Under the Kohler brothers, the party is to strive for more conservative measures in civil liberties as well as a socialist economy which has been traditional in Dorvik for decades. Erik Kohler has mentioned the plans of the party in its very first congress in Haldor, which was attended by over forty-five thousand citizens;

The Revolutionären Volkspartei has made some bad decisions over the years which has spurred large controversies and unwanted by Dorvish citizens, political arguments. We here are today to repair the damage done to the Revolutionären Volkspartei's image in an attempt to return to government. We no longer want large scale political disagreement or hatred in our political system. I understand that political disagreement is a norm in everyday politics however I do not want arguments and shout outs in parliament or worse - the use of force. This is why I here apologize for the past dirty moves made by the Revolutionären Volkspartei management. It is time that Dorvik sees true politics with debates and proper manners on the floor of the parliament. It is time Dorvik sees true values in its society and a just and fair economic system - socialism. It is time that our society should unite and say in one, we will fight again Fascism, we will fight against Progressiveness and we will fight against Capitalism!

The party has introduced its platform on its congress and its program for the next several years. Despite declaring a neutralized and less aggressive political tone the new parties policies are somewhat as radical as they were in the Revolutionären Volkspartei. Extreme Conservatism as well as Anti-Capitalism has been echoed throughout the program, as well as the need for a more modern and agrarian based Dorvik. The Dorvishe Bauernpartei also demands a more militarized and classless society, as well as a Christian democracy.

Elections Held in the Volksrepublik
Possible Socialist Coalition

Haldor - As Dorvik sees another election pass by, the Dorvishe Baurenpartei became the largest party in the Volkskammer. Media have speculated that the party leader, Erik Kohler which was the candidate for President, met with the leader of the new political party Artanian Sozialistische Arbeiterpartei, and agreed to begin a coalition government between the two parties which virtually share the same platform as well as political program. In the mean time, a quite similar political platform was exactly the reason why the Dorvishe Bauernpartei scored lower than its now defunct predecessor, the Revolutionaren Volkspartei which was dissolved over a year ago. The effect of the Artanian Sozialistische Arbeiterpartei was in fact devastating to the Dorvishe Bauernpartei and the stolen electorate turned against the Dorvishe Bauernpartei. Despite this, the Dorvisher Bauernpartei leadership have not complained about the election results in the country. Nevertheless, with a similar political party in the nation or not the Kohler twins have reinstated their dominance over the political scene in the Volksrepublik. Erik Kohler, however, remained quite disappointed after the election results stating a simple "It could be better" upon learning that he had lost the Presidential election to Gertrude Hohenzollof, of the Artanian Sozialistische Arbeiterpartei which scored several percentage points better in the election for President than Erik Kohler, to the current Leader of opposition.

However, the fate of other parties in the Volkskammer was much worse, rather than that of the Dorvishe Bauernpartei which in fact gained 172 seats from the 0 they had before. The Volkspartei, quickly lost their position as dominant in the political scene of Dorvik. Despite previously being the largest party in the Volkskammer, a quick comparison of the vote count can explain the sudden popularity of the quite inactive political organization. Since May 3148, the height of its popularity to date, the Volkspartei has been loosing their electorate to their socialist as well as Fascist counterparts in the Volkskammer and on the Dorvish political scene. it slowly becomes very clear that the majority of the Dorvish population does not comply with their liberal economic as well as social policies and others go further mentioned that their party name 'is improper considering election results every three years'. The least amount of votes was registered by the least popular party in Dorvik since its creation, the Dorvik National Faschist Volkspartei. With its ideological "National Fascism" the party registered the least amount of votes and therefore has won the least amount of seats in the Volkskammer. Only once reaching above one-hundred seats in the Volkskammer, the DNFV has managed to only secure 80 seats with just over nine and a half million votes out of over fifty-million votes counted. Their Presidential candidate came in fourth, after the Volkspartei candidate and as Dorvish law dictates did not advance into the second round of voting.

After the first round of elections, Erik Kohler received the largest amount of votes. However, without more than fifty percent of the total votes, the Dorvishe Bauernpartei candidate had to finally fight for the Presidential house with the Artanian Sozialistische Arbeiterpartei candidate. Eventually loosing to Gertrude Hohenzollof, the Artanian Sozialistische Arbeiterpartei. The parliamentary elections were much less competative, with the Dorvishe Bauernpartei gaining 172 seats to form a total of 172 seats. The Artanian Sozialistische Arbeiterpartei came in second with a total of 142 seats. The Volkspartei third with a total of 106 seats and the Dorvik National Faschist Volkspartei with a total of 80 seats.

Coalition Government Formed
Socialists Back in Power

Haldor - After several weeks of negotiations, the Artanian Sozialistische Arbeiterpartei and Dorvishe Bauernpartei have reached a fruitful conclusion which forms a working government for the first time in several years, where the political parties were unable to form a form of government supported by the people due to political disputes as well as strong ideological differences. Ilya Titov for the first time since his appointment over 12 years ago has been removed from the post of caretaker of the Chancellery of the Volksrepublik Dorvik, and with this a new government has been formed with Erik Kohler - the previous candidate for President, leading it. His brother, was moved to become the Minister of Foreign Affairs, when originally he was supposed to become the Kanzler of the Volksrepublik. Unfortunately for him, his brothers failed campaign has destroyed the possibility of him becoming the Kanzler for this term. It is speculated however, that both of the coalition parties are also attempting to form an alliance in terms of supporting each other during Presidential elections. Several members of the Dorvishe Bauernpartei have stated that it was unfortunate that both of the current ruling parties had to fight over the Presidency and the have mentioned that this may bring complications and sour the relations of both of the parties until an agreement is reached by the Dorvishe Bauernpartei as well as by the Artanian Sozialistische Arbeiterpartei regarding the Presidency. Despite possible complications in the future regarding the Presidency, many political experts in Dorvik state that this coalition will most likely be long lasting and possibly rule Dorvik for several more terms if not decades due to its high popularity. Having a decisive majority in the Volkskammer of 314 seats, the coalition has ' a bright future and possibly may keep their position for a number of terms if not decades'. This opinion is echoed throughout many of Dorvish media, as they argue that the liberal Volkspartei and Fascist National Volkspartei have to little of 'hard electorate' to allow them to win the next elections to be held also in May - in 3 years.

As the coalition government is accepted, the Dorvishe Bauernpartei has already began planning reforms with one already reaching the Volkskammer exactly after elections. These reforms have to do with eliminating the Volkspartei's liberal policies which were implemented while they were in government. Furthermore, as stated by Markus Kohler; "We have several economic reforms which a internal party club is currently working on which I head at the moment. Our goal is to finally end the pseudo-Socialism which has existed in Dorvik for decades since the Communist Party implemented such a system and never completed it fully. This includes nationalization of very important businesses and encouraging Democratic Workers' Councils which will operate businesses on a local level." To conclude, we wish our new government its best!

Coalition Fails
Early Political Surprise

As all seemed good, and predictions of a socialist coalition ruling Dorik for the next decades rang around the country, the Dorvishe Bauernpartei has left the coalition government, and has resigned its status as a national political party. Initially believed to be because of a disagreement between the Kohler brothers which lead the party it has been revealed that the party was unsatisfied with its coalition partner which failed to allow and pass Constitutional Amendments and other necessary reforms which were in the program of the Dorvishe Bauernpartei. Despite the first successful first months, the parties often bickered about possible economic and well as social reforms despite having a similar platform on most issues. This currently leads Dorvish media to speculate that the coalition was formed simply for the Dorvishe Bauernpartei to garb hold of the Dorvish government and lead the country from there, rather than of political compromise. Furthermore, it has been revealed that the Dorvishe Bauernpartei was not found of having to enter into a coalition overall and expected the minority coalition partner to simply follow it blindly. These ambitious ruling plans have contributed to the early or quick failure of the Dorvishe Bauernpartei and its coalition.
