The Silicon for Socialism Initiative was vital to upgrading the natural resources industry. It was vital in revitalisation rather. However, other industries exist. The most notable is the Diamond Industry. This industry has been vital for Northern Cantons (especially for the Rlabschenzhing Canton) in providing development, employment and economic security throughout the centuries. However, it is need of modernizations. As such, the Diamonds for Democracy Initiative has begun, with the distinct goal of modernizing the Diamond Industry and ensure that it fits within the modern Xsampan economy.

As such, the first step is negotiating with Social Enterprises. The Diamond Industry has remained strictly state owned for some time now, but this industry will now be mixed. Half of it will remain under direct state control, the rest will go to domestic Social Enterprises. This means that whatever is left to the Social Enterprises will have to operate on the basis of market socialism. They won't be tied to the state directly. For mines remaining with the state, they shall receive modernizations with a focus on retraining workers to handle modern equipment and providing said modern equipment. Alongside this, a focus will be made keeping these mines green and environmentally conscious. Whether it be reforming how waste is handled or ensuring clean green energy, these mines will work hand in hand with the Red-Green Revolution. But simply enacting change at the work place doesn't do anything. The government will work with Local Committees in mining communities to raise quality of living drastically. Even if current living standards are good, there is no limit for uplifting the Proletariat.

The Diamonds for Democracy Initiative will take some time like the Silicon for Socialism Initiative, but it will continue to pave the way for economic growth. Economic growth starts at local communities and works it way up through Cantons and to the national economy. That is why we support all industries, not just the most productive. That and it is our mission as socialists to ensure every Proletarian has a dignified high quality life.

40th Anniversary of the Bargas Chenpo; Never Again, Never Forget.

40 years ago, at 09:54 AM, the sirens went off. By 10:02, Xsampa experienced the greatest tragedy to ever occur in its history. The nuclear detonation of a nuclear bomb on Metz-Leonid by Beitenyu. 40 years ago, the Bargas Chenpo defined Xsampa. Since then however, progress has been made. Metz-Leonid was rebuilt by 5609, 10 years after the Bargas Chenpo occured. By 5619, the 20th anniversary, Xsampa was moving towards recovery socially and economically. And now? The scars are still there. But Xsampa is healing. Xsampans are ready to start talking about it. Carefully, but it's progress. Whether it be discussing the topic in public outside of academic circles, cultural dipictions of it (such as the upcoming movie, The Long Ash), and open genuine discussion on it. On this Memorial Day, we take a look at the epicenter of mourning. The Memorial to the Victims of Nuclear War. 

At the Memorial itself, survivors paid their respects, families paid their respects to the dead, and flowers were spread across the memorial. In attendence, the public at large, members of PAX, Comrades Delacroix, survivors of the Bargas Chenpo, and the Custodian shared their experiences (in the case of survivors) and gave a speech about the Bargas Chenpo, and the future (in the case of the Premier and Custodian). Comrade Delacroix, alongside other members of PAX were spotted near a group of school children wearing black ribbons. Before giving a speech, the Custodian was spotted near survivors, and comforting them. Said survivors had photographs of loved ones, and as they spoke, it's clear that even now, 40 years later, not all scars fade.

Comrades, 

Today is not a day for glory. It is not a day for celebration. It is a day for mourning. It is a day for remembering. But most importantly, it is a day for healing. 40 years ago, we saw a tragedy of unspeakable proportions happen to this very city. Like many of you in the crowd, I was just a child when the Bargas Chenpo happened. But I felt what it meant. The consequences. The pain. We lost so many people. Not just workers. Not just revolutionaries. Not just politicians. We lost friends. Family. Lovers. We lost people with dreams. Aspirations. Hopes. 

But even now, even 40 years later, we mustn't let grief overtake us. Not for Xsampa, not for Socialism, but so that those who died may never be forgotten. So that we may honour them. Honour their dreams. We have made good progress in honouring their memory. We have built a democratic Xsampa. A Xsampa that is going green. A Xsampa that cares for the unfortunate. A Xsampa that thrives for all. But the Bargas Chenpo gave us one more mission. The mission for eternal peace. For a world where no child ever again has to fear war. For a world where happiness is the standard, not a luxury. For a world where there never is another Bargas Chenpo. For a world without nuclear weapons. 

This mission won't be easy. But it is necessary. Not for our future. But for the future of our children's grandchildren. I believe we can achieve that mission one day.

After the speech, survivors shared their experiences and insights from the Bargas Chenpo with the public, and younger generations. One such survivor, Comrade Nyima, aged 62, shared his experience with the Bargas Chenpo.

I... I remember the day. When the sirens went off. I was lucky enough to be far enough to survive. It left me scarred and burnt. My brother... Paldon... He was closer to the city centre... I never heard his voice again. I don't come back to Metz-Leonid often. But I had to. Today. For him.

After various other survivors gave their testimonies and volunteers gave their speeches, 12 minutes of silence were held, in honour of the 12 minutes before the sirens went off, and the bomb fell. This Memorial Day is no easier than the last. Time heals all wounds, but scars only fade. The Bargas Chenpo took a lot from all of us. But what makes this special, this Memorial Day more special is what happened earlier this year. The end of the Red Bass War. Formally, the war never ended. We all know this. It was paused. Until we received a formal surrender. It won't undo the damage done, but it's a start in the right direction. It can bring closure to our comrades who still suffer. As we mourn this day and millions of Xsampans both across the country and abroad mourn and honour the dead in their own ways, we must ensure that this tragedy never happens again.

For our foreign readers, we urge you to listen to this part the most. Peace is a fragile thing. But it must be protected. It must be cherished. It must be supported. Without it, it leads to war and endless militarism leads to the usage of nuclear weapons. Nuclear weapons leads to untold suffering. Suffering no person on Terra should ever experience. Today, we are not Xsampans. We are citizens of Terra, dreaming for a peaceful world.

Solidifying the PWS; Various Welfare Reforms enacted.

The Proletarian Welfare State remains the pride and joy of Xsampan Socialism. It shows the world that welfare doesn't stop at just ensuring the most vulnerable don't starve. It shows the world that welfare is meant to uplift and especially empower. Whether it be the SCC System, the MBI reforms, or the mere existence of the already advanced and generous welfare system, there is always more work to be done. And in the closing months of the Delacroix Administration, we are seeing a major move. Major expansions and reforms to the welfare state.

The first reform is reforming incarceration. Or rather, post-incarceration. For most Xsampans, it's hard to find employment without state support if you've been incarcerated. This is a wrong that we cannot let stand. As such, every Xsampan who is released from incarceration shall receive direct state support in finding employment (whether it be with the state, or with Social Enterprises in the private sector), SCC multipliers, and support with enrollment into housing. While housing is a right, not a privilege, some unfortunately fall through the cracks. Alongside this, mental health support wil be vital. Healing doesn't stop at just time spent in incarceration. To encourage rehabilitation furthermore, Local Committees will be provided with the means to provide rehabilitation programs. Individuals previously incarcerated will be required to attend. After competing these rehabilitation programs, their records will be provided to them and sealed. A society that cannot forgive, is a society that can never grow.

Next, expanding support drastically for our queer comrades. It is a sad unfortunate reality that around the world, injustice and discrimination against queer individuals still exists. While there is little we can do for now to help them abroad, we can offer hope. For them, and for our queer comrades in Xsampa. Your rights don't stop at a piece of paper saying you're emancipated. While most Xsampans have been supportive of queer rights thanks to efforts from the past (especially the Ladakh Government under the CPX centuries ago), there is no realistic way to ensure every individual supports kindness and progress. Unfortunately some Xsampans remain bigoted and while we work to stamp that out and ensure a truly progressive society, it doesn't mean we can't help those afflicted. For those kicked out for simply being themselves, and are unable to receive aid, the government will step up. Guaranteed relocation housing and funding will be provided for displaced queer comrades. Furthermore, any and all gender affirming care will be provided with extra support. It's time we stop treating pride as a parade, and treat it as policy for the public. No Xsampan must ever feel disassociation. Not without us trying our best to help.

And for our comrades who are neurodivergent, we haven't forgotten about you. Society exists to uplift everyone. Not just the majority. Accessibility doesn't stop at physical efforts. It stops when everyone is supported. As such, for neurodivergent Xsampans, they shall receive specialized MBI packages. Like the rest of the MBI system, no documentation is required. Furthermore, workplaces and public spaces will be offered more funds should they begin modifications to create friendly spaces for neurodivergent Xsampans with sensory accessibility issues. 

Socialism doesn't stop at economic liberation. It doesn't stop at removing capitalism or fascism. It never stops. It marches forward with the dream of equality for every Proletarian. The PWS remains our most successful vehicle of showing what socialism can do. And it shall remain our magnum opus. Never again should any Xsampan struggle. Never again.

Delacroix re-elected as CPX secures another five years; Solid gains for the DPP and SD.

The recent elections last month saw what many expected, but with a few twists. The CPX has maintained its strong lead with Comrade Delacroix continuing her second term. Coming out with 258 seats, the CPX continues to reclaim its status as the largest party. Before diving into the proper results, Comrade Delacroix has pledged to continue focusing on cutting the rural-urban gap, economic development, technological investments, and uniquely enough, supporting a Pan-Dovani agenda. We'll cover that last part of her new agenda once we get into the results of a specific party.

For the rest of the Red Lotus Coalition (CPX-EPP-SWP), we've seen the EPP secure 44 seats and the SWP secure 21 seats. While it's not big gains, both parties remain apart of the Red Lotus Coalition and remain friendly to the CPX. For opposition parties, the second biggest party is the SLP, being rewarded with 155 seats. Following that, the FLP securing 27 seats. The XFL saw no growth, only holding onto its sole seat tragically enough.

The most surprising gains has been from the DPP. Ever since the controversy in opposing the SHARE Act, many expecting a student exodus to occur and to see the DPP crippled. Those expectations died out quickly as election night drew on. Securing 50 seats, the DPP has managed to rebound from its controversial stance and regain the trust of student and youth voters. Chairman of the Democratic Progressive Party, Comrade Lingpa has stated that the DPPs new gains will allow the party to explore new avenues of promoting socialist liberalism.

Yet the most shocking development has been Sangtsa Dovani. Or for our foreign readers, United Dovani. A Pan-Dovani Party, the SD has called for strong cooperation with other Dovani states, integration with Dovani states, joining the WDU, supporting the creation of various Dovani communities (political, economic and cultural ones) as well as general support for the oppressed across Dovani. A strongly internationalist party, many expected it to gain a few seats. 2 or 3 at best. Instead, they over performed in expectations and secured a resounding 8 seats. Because of their success, many have presumed that Comrade Delacroix has taken an interest in Pan-Dovanism to get a headstart in this new voter base opened by the SD.

Overall, we can say that these elections are successful and our socialist democracy continues to mature and develop. Towards another five years of prosperity for all Xsampans.

Democracy for Diamonds Phase 2 begins; Domestic refinement of diamond goods.

The Democracy for Diamonds Initiative continues on with Phase 2. If Phase 1 was focused on modernizing the system and getting it ready, the Phase 2 is truly bringing the Diamond Industry to new heights. In the past, diamonds were largely just exported. Their value provided much needed funds in the past, and still provide valuable revenue for the state when exported. But domestically, they were hardly used. It's time we change that. As such, thanks to sharing the industry with Social Enterprises, we are seeing worker co-operatives begin experimenting with diamonds in the civilian sector. Jewelry is particularly an industry that is gaining attraction. 

For what remains in state hands, we shall utilize it for further production. Diamond innovation will be vital. Raw diamonds, sure they are valuable but what can you do with them practically? Stare at them? Maybe throw them at a wall? Not exactly ideal. Refined diamonds however? You get jewelry, basic lasers, precision tools, semiconductors. And that is what the state will focus on. Innovation hubs will be sponsored in cities in Rlabschenzhing. Given this is where most of our diamond deposits are, it only makes sense to provide the Canton with support to specialize in their prized possession. Not only will these goods benefit Xsampa domestically (everyone loves jewelry, industry loves precision tools, lasers help doctors and scientists and semiconductors will need more support beyond what Socialism for Silicon did), but this gives another good for export. And another export is another source of revenue. Plus we can expect this to especially benefit nations we've signed a fair trade agreement!

Beyond that, we can take pride in that the Xsampan Diamond Industry breaks one consistent norm in diamond industries around the globe. It isn't exploitative. It isn't made with slaves. It isn't made with destroying the environment. You can acquire these diamonds with a conscious. This will certainly be good news for our allies in progressive states abroad.

In any case, these efforts will yield results in time. While not immediately, slow and steady wins the race as they say. The Democracy for Diamonds Initiative will be vital to modernizing the pillars of the Xsampan economy.

The Long Ash releases in Threatres; Despite controversy, the movie overperforms in Xsampa.

The Long Ash has stirred anticipation, and anxiety, for quite some time now. Comrade Paljor Nepali, the director of the movie has kept a tight leash on any leaks about the movie. Besides a trailer last year and a poster, we didn't know much about the movie except this. It was going to be a horrour movie. It was going to be a monster movie. It was going to challenge norms. The trailer hammered the horrour down further. After that? Silence. No interviews from the cast, no comments from Nepali, no trailers or leaks. Nothing. We've been left to guess.

Now, we finally don't have to guess. The movie released just two days ago, and suffice to say, we are nothing short of impressed. And many Xsampans overwhelmingly agree. Critics expected the movie to be a mockery of the Bargas Chenpo. Satire, mockery, sensationalism, or even spectacle and humour. Instead we were dead wrong. The Long Ash turned out to be a masterful piece of art showing grief, horrour, and cosmic dread. Before we go into a brief synopsis, let's loop back to Xsampans enjoying this. By the 11th, Threatres were sold out of tickets in all major cities, and Metz-Leonid Central Theatre was actually overwhelmed to the point that Public Security had to step in and calm the crowds to ensure that the threatre wasn't overwhelmed from the unexpected demand.

Even families of survivors were pleasantly shocked by it. While many expected them to, understandably boycott the movie or at least have a negative impression of it, some reviewers found it enjoyable. One such Comrade, Dorji, whose father is a survivor of the Bargas Chenpo had this to say about The Long Ash.

I was... Pleasantly surprised. I didn't expect it to be how it was. I expected it to be sensationalism. To mock the event. Instead, it took itself seriously. It knew what it was. It used Tsering as a metaphor for the Bargas Chenpo. Not as a mascot. It didn't tell you what the theme was. It didn't hold your hand. It told its story and if you missed it, you'd have to think about it. That isn't disrespectful of the Bargas Chenpo. It's honouring it. The movie really captured the horrour of the Bargas Chenpo. Even if I wasn't alive when it happened, the movie captured what it must've been like. Just with Tsering instead of a nuclear bomb.

Other survivor groups shared similar opinions to hers, and while obviously other survivor groups felt the movie was disrespectful, the general consensus among Xsampans is that the movie is not only fantastic, but respectful of the Bargas Chenpo.

The Long Ash is a surreal horrour-tragedy set in the shadow of the Bargas Chenpo, decades after the nuclear devastation of Metz-Leonid. The film follows the eerie resurgence of a creature—Tsering—born of ash, grief, and the unnatural stillness that followed the blast. As strange events ripple across Xsampa's mountains and cities, a quiet investigation unfolds, spiraling into a confrontation with something far more terrible than expected.

What begins as a monster story becomes a mirror—reflecting collective trauma, unhealed wounds, and the ethical weight of survival. With haunting visuals and an atmosphere soaked in dread, The Long Ash asks not what we fear—but what we’ve chosen to forget.

Comrades, we encourage you to watch the movie as we cannot do justice with words alone. The Long Ash is set to continue premiering all this week, and next week. 

Besides that, Comrade Nepali has broken her characteristic silence and has actually agreed to an interview now that the movie is done.

I know my marketing strategy has been nothing short of controversial for the public, but any publicity is good publicity. I know many Xsampans still deal with grief and depression, even 40 years later. I wanted to take that grief and give it a physical form. Turn it into art. That's what Tsering is. She's a message. About grief. About nuclear weapons. About the Chaos Theory. She isn't a monster with malicious intent. She's a victim. Just like we were. But that doesn't mean she's innocent either. But I'm proud of her. Proud of creating her. I wanted to keep production under wraps. I didn't want any teasers and the marketing team had to practically beg me for that trailer. I thought it showed too much. They thought it would be perfect and after days, I gave in. I'm glad they convinced me. And I'm glad the public likes The Long Ash. Truth be told, I didn't expect it to perform this well. I was playing with fire. I expected at best, a bold statement but nothing else. At worst, I expected bigger boycotts. I even anticipated for Local Committees to strike the movie down. I'm glad I was proven wrong on all of that.

While Comrade Nepali is very reclusive and doesn't like to give interviews, we thank her for this rare opportunity and her insight. On a personal note, we do hope that she does continue film making as her style of directing is amazing.

Despite it dropping on Memorial Day, it didn't stop ongoing grieving and memorials from continuing as they were. But this year, it's shown Xsampans that maybe grieving doesn't need to be sadness and silence. Maybe it can be more. Maybe it can be art. The Long Ash has shown us that potential. But it's shown that not only is there a market for more movies similar to The Long Ash (in regards to having Tsering like figures), but it shows that we, as Xsampans, are ready to start talking about the Bargas Chenpo in media like this. While so far, the movie has yet to go abroad, it remains highly popular domestically. Perhaps it'll go abroad, but that depends on if such agreements can even be made as Xsampan cultural exports are rare. Let alone if there even is a market abroad. 

In any case, The Long Ash has shown that healing takes many forms. Some forget. Others grieve. Others, make art from that sadness and despair.

Trial run of the Maglev Trains from Gramdkarpo to Chugramdu; The beginning of a new era for Xsampan Rail.

The Maglev Project has taken some time. Understandable as the Sub-Committee of Rail Management has wanted to make sure that the project is successful. Again, we don't want any accidents happening. And after many... Excruciating trials and paperwork sessions, it's been greenlit for a pilot project. The first MagLevs will be put into use connecting two cities. Chugramdu, a more agrarian city notable for its strawberry production and other agricultural goods, as well as a strong commitment to eco-socialism thanks to it's EPP led Local Committee. The other city is the biggest and most successful port city in Xsampa, Gramdkarpo. Being the most prosperous port city in Xsampa, the benefits are already obvious. 

As such, these two cities will be the rest run. Chugramdu benefits by seeing agricultural goods exported to Gramdkarpo and Gramdkarpo benefits by exporting goods to the world and to Chugramdu. The economic potential for both cities is immense, even if it's just a trial run. This trial run will last until 5643. 2 years. Some comrades may call this long, but better safe than sorry. In any case, this will allow both cities to focus on thriving. Faster exported goods, faster travel times for civilian usage, and generally an infrastructure upgrade, the Maglev Project will benefit both cities immensely and should it be successful (which it is estimated to be but the Sub-Committee of Rail Management has insisted that this pilot program go through to its fullest still), then we can see MagLevs expanded to the rest of the Xsampan Rail Network. Imagine it. From Metz-Leonid to Bajoum. Or even connecting it to the Xia-Bia Railway! The potential not just for economic growth and development, but for cutting travel times for leisure and travel is undeniable.

In any case, this pilot program will be directly under state control. Both because all public transportation remains under state control instead of Social Enterprises, but also because it is vital due to the pilot program. As such, Xsampan State Railway will handle all affairs and work closely with the Sub-Committee of Rail Management. Whatever the case, exciting times are ahead. The Maglev Project shows us not just the fruits of diplomacy with other nations, no matter how unconventional, but it also shows a better advanced future. Not just for Socialism, but for the Xsampan Proletariat.

Supporting the Film Industry; Paving the way to a domestic renaissance.

The Long Ash showed many Xsampans the potential of Xsampan made films. Before The Long Ash, the Xsampan Film Industry was... Depressing to say the least. And not in a good way. But The Long Ash has challenged that and many Xsampans are supportive of helping the film Industry. And with a movie about the Bargas Chenpo itself finding huge success, many other directors, writers and producers are interested in taking risky but bold ideas to the big screens. And it's gotten to the point that the state has looked to step in and help. We all know the stereotypes of the state. Micromanaging every aspect of society. That is why the state is looking to avoid that stereotype by sponsoring the creation of the Xsampan Film, Media and Regulation Council. Not a Sub-Committee of the People's Committee of Information, but fully independent. The goal of the XFMR is to obviously not only regulate media to ensure standards, but also protect creative autonomy (where reasonable, we don't want capitalist propaganda disguised as creative risk taking), fund and support studio cooperatives,  and encourage diverse storytelling. The Council will recruit individuals who are experienced in the industry. Artists, film makers, etc, not just bureaucrats. The XFMR will also look to help new stars emerge. It's no secret that Nepali was unknown before The Long Ash. Just how many stories are we missing out on because they aren't given the chance?

Next, Cantons have started to flex their local abilities and various Cantons have started the "Cinema in the Commons" program, looking to promote new films, discuss the symbolism regarding new films, and make films not just an art, but also a critique that is worth being apart of participatory culture. With this being a project enacted by the Cantons and not the state itself, this allows flexibility for each Canton and each CC Program.

Now the biggest question asked has been if Xsampan culture could go abroad. As it stands, it's very rare for Xsampan culture to go abroad. Few diaspora exists outside of Xsampa. There are notable communities, but they are rare. So it's little shock that Xsampan culture is rather underrepresented in the world stage. The Long Ash for example only screened in Xsampa. But the XFMR has shared a goal of bringing Xsampan media abroad. As such, the first thing they have done is begin setting guidelines regarding subtitles. Domestically, all films should have Canrillaise subtitles. This is a no brainer given Canrillaise is a secondary language at this point. But this also allows Xsampan films to be accessible to the Canrille World. Alongside this, filmmaker's will have direct control of how their movies go abroad, if at all. It will take some time to cultivate a thriving film industry, let alone bring it to a renaissance, but it'll be well worth the effort if it means sharing art and Xsampan culture with the world. The Long Ash not only showed new ways for grief to be processed, but it showed that Xsampan films can be viable.

Breaking; Maria Kadiyot in Xsampan Custody as Supreme Revolutionary Court hears case on trialing her; Will justice come through?

Xsampa is no stranger to helping out when possible. Especially in Dovani. For instance, the Vascanian Sea. In the past, a Yeudi tanker was stranded and we came to the rescue. While the former state of Beitenyu didn't appreciate the effort, we are certain that the families of those stranded crew members did. This time was no different. Another ship in the Vascanian Sea was apparently in distress. While details remain sparse, the crew was rescued. But what makes this different is that someone in the crew was not just an ordinary someone. But Maria Kadiyot. The woman responsible for authorizing the usage of a nuclear weapon. The woman responsible for the Bargas Chenpo. While the crew itself was returned to Gaduridos (and was compensated), the People's Committee of Foreign Affairs has released a statement, stating that "These individuals may still be in shock, and may be averse to spewing random nonsense, such as accusing Xsampa of state sponsored kidnap or raids". While these claims are ridiculous, it isn't the first time that a Yeudi vessel has accused Xsampa of horrible things when we do the right thing. As for Maria Kadiyot herself however.

She is currently being kept in an undisclosed location, with Public Security and even the Internal Security Committee stepping in, and the Committee of State Security, stating that any details regarding her detainment are kept sparse due to national security reasons. But, the chairman of the CSS, Choezom has assured us that Maria Kadiyot is being kept in humane conditions. We are socialists after all, so it makes sense that she would be kept in humane decent conditions. However, various survivor groups have already jumped the gun, calling for justice. Despite the Red Bass War ending, and Xsampans now openly discussing the Bargas Chenpo, it's clear that not all wounds are fully healed. It wouldn't be long before various survivor groups would call for justice and today, the Supreme Revolutionary Court has announced that they will hear the case on putting Kadiyot on Trial.


So far, they have not given any indication of when the trial will occur. But many Xsampans expect the trial to be a guaranteed. With the Supreme Revolutionary Court hearing the case out, many Xsampans are eager to see how it develops as Maria Kadiyot is the architect of the Bargas Chenpo. Already, theories are abuzz about the verdict. Many anticipate guilty, but no one can guess the sentence. The death penalty is firmly off the table. We're socialists, not barbarians. But Maria Kadiyot is in her 80s. She's incapable of doing rehabilitative labour at such an age. Whatever the case, PAX members have been making statements, and even the Premier and Custodian have made a statement. With Comrade Delacroix trusting that the Supreme Revolutionary Court will make the right decision and saying that it is not the executives spot to comment on the judiciary. The Custodian, Comrade Wangchen on the other hand has maintained his cordial, pacifist, diplomatic approach and urged restraint amongst survivor groups but was stern in supporting justice.

With this trial set to be major event in Xsampan history, the Supreme Revolutionary Court has its work cut out. Many expect a statement by the SRC on when the trial will occur by the summer, and the actual trial by winter, or early next year. Whatever the case, this has drastically shifted things up.

The State of Equality in Xsampa; An overview of Equality in Xsampa.

In some parts of the world, equality is just something you say to get elected. In other countries, it's feared. In Xsampa? It's a reality. While we won't claim to be a utopia and say we've achieved full equality, we can say we've made a lot of progress ever since the foundation of the Democratic Republic. And perhaps it's time to go over the state of equality in Xsampa.

Civil Rights

In Xsampa, you are guaranteed many rights. Right to Assembly, Freedom of Speech, Freedom to Organize, Freedom of Religion, and Freedom of Press are just some examples. While strong restrictions are placed on those who may use those rights to promote the dismantling of socialism, fascist ideals or capitalist restoration, it strikes a balance between what socialism must be, protecting the rights of the Proletariat, and the reality of Socialism, in preventing dissolution by rogue actors. Every Xsampan is guaranteed due process and Public Security serves the Proletariat, not the state or elites. Public Security are representatives of their communities, not just law enforcement. Civil Rights in Xsampa are expressive, but framed in our socialist constitution.

Gender Equality

Ever since the formation of the Democratic Republic in 5317, gender equality has been enshrined and engraved into Xsampan norms. For example, full legal equality is provided to all genders. Everyone, and we mean everyone has the same rights, protections and opportunities. Parental leave is guaranteed, gender neutral, and especially generous. Representation quotas exist in all aspects of politics, public institutions, and cooperatives across the country. Reproductive rights are guaranteed. Abortion access is guaranteed and contraceptives are free. In Xsampa, gender equality doesn't stop at installing a few individuals in a position of power. It goes beyond that, and changing society. Ever since the days of Comrade Ladakh (from the 5400s), education has enshrined the history of the liberation of the Proletariat. Especially for the liberation of women, and queer Xsampans. Promoting equality starts at the beginning and education is the best avenue. Alongside this, the People's Committee of Internal Affairs has a Sub-Committee, the Sub-Committee of Equal Management, which is responsible for ensuring discrimination is prevented and punished when it happens.

Queer Equality

In some countries, they sign a piece of paper saying you are liberated and call it a day. In Xsampa, we actually do the work to ensure you are equal. For our queer Xsampans, we fully support them. And we aren't performative about it. Every gender is recognized, and all orientations are recognized and protected. The state has no right to govern your existence. It only has the right to guarantee a good life. Healthcare for queer Xsampans is also equalized. Gender affirming care is guaranteed and provided, and queer Xsampans have the right to marriage, adoption, inheritance, you name it. They are no different than any Xsampan.

Economic Equality

The pride and joy of Xsampa is economic equality. The Minimum Basic Income system guarantees every Xsampan is provided with the means to not live in fear of poverty. We won't lie. It is an expensive system to maintain. But there is no cost too great when it comes to serving the Proletariat and fighting poverty. Poverty must never exist when there is plenty. Combined with the Dignity of Life Indexes, managed by Local Committees and every community is supported by the MBI. For wealthier Xsampans, their wealth is capped. Because of this, and the MBI (as well as other economic progressive measures), Xsampa takes pride in the low wealth gap. But there is always work to do there. Public housing, universal social services, public education, public transportation and the like help drastically in reducing the cost of living and ensuring economic equality. And of course, worker co-operatives help ensure that the economy is not only democratic, but worker owned and equal. And the most notable addition to the Xsampan Proletarian Welfare State, is the Social Credit Contribution (SCC) which rewards non traditional forms of labour such as caregiving, tutoring, and anything that isn't wage labour. While there are some that slip through the cracks, we are proud of the work we've done.

Remaining Challenges

We can easily say we've achieved equality. But we can also say the world has been liberated from capitalism and Metz's dream has been achieved. Unfortunately both are not true. While we have made great strides in equality, and especially great progress compared to other nations, challenges do exist. Not every Xsampan is progressive unfortunately. While we try our best, some slip through the cracks and embrace ignorance. Rural communities oftentimes lag behind. While not every rural commune is against progress, not every commune is progressive unfortunately. While work is being done, again, some slip through the cracks. Furthermore, some communities are simply more successful than others. This leads to some minor discrepancies in lifestyle. While nothing major, it is still worth noting as a challenge. 

Xsampa prides itself on equality. We won't lie and say we've solved every problem. But we will admit that we've made great progress. But like everything, there is always more to be done. We cannot rest until we create a world where ignorance, bigotry and inequality is a relic of the past.
