The Royal Directory of the Armed Forces announced that Egelion has purchased several vessels from Amudim in a massive 6 billion Crown deal to bolster the Egelian Armada and significantly weaken Amudim's global projection. The deal involved a total of 10 ships, all mainly given to Egelion at a discounted price. The ships included two Ambitionsklasse Flugzeugträger Aircraft Carriers, four Nekama-Class Cruisers, two Parmentier-Class Destroyers, and two Ontiveros-Class frigates. These vessels, according to the Royal Directory, will be sent to naval bases in Cartablanca, Yadraz, and Libertaria for modernizations and repairs. According to Royal Councilor Montalivet, who oversees matters of the armed forces, the ships "after exercises in the North Anantonese" were found to be at 80% of their original capacity. The Royal Directory will be recommending several upgrades to the ships to ensure they can be at their full operational capacity so that they can be put into service by the General Headquarters of the Armada. Upon their modernization, these ships will be rearranged with the existing first and second Armadas in order to create a third Armada fleet. It is unknown where the Armada will be based, but experts believe there are deals in place with "nearby countries" to house the armada.

Royal Councilor Montalivet, who was on board the lead flagship of the Northern Armada, the R.A.E. Don Martin Colosa, stated that the 6 billion Crown payment for the Amudim vessels would not go to Amudim, instead, they would be sent directly to Xsampa over the course of 5 years as a direct payment of reparations on behalf of the Yeudi states. Royal Councilor Montalivet stated aboard the ship:
Quote:Amudim no longer has any business dictating world affairs, directly or non. We cannot trust the city states of that region to bring about a sense of direction, when they are completely responsible for the perilous state of global order since their attacks on Metz-Leonid. We are clear in our position: a collection of states that come from the Beiteynuese nation CANNOT be allowed to possess weapons that would bring forward danger into our world. We could not trust them then, we cannot trust them now. We have taken their technologies to safeguard them from bringing on any more danger in our world. From the smallest patrol ship to the most advanced ballistic technology, we cannot allow Amudim to continue their streak of meddling and their tendrils of danger any longer. Altea will not tolerate Amudim's final attempts at global relevancy.

Montalivet stated that direct payments to Metz-Leonid have already begun. He claims that the "purchase" of these ships is a win for the navies of the world and for overall global security. With the Migrant's Pass currently under global tensions, it is imperative that the Yeudi states do not inflame the situation more than it needs to be. The Anantonese region remains more secure and vigilant knowing that Amudim has been stripped of its naval projection and placed safely into Altea's grasp. "It is like taking away a dangerous tool from a child", says Royal Counilor Mondragon. "We can sleep well knowing Amudim cannot threaten our region, let alone any other region abroad."

With population increasing throughout Egelion, Soverano and Grupo Ortega have teamed up to begin new housing projects in Caille and Edergira. Following a report by the Royal Court, it was reported that 43% of all public housing buildings since the reign of King Amadeo had fallen into "unsatisfactory" states according to the nation's civil regulations committee. Most buildings in this report however, were located in the Royal Duchies of Edergira and Caille. The metro area around Altea, Rozevia-Cartablanca, and the city of Yadraz were found to have "excellent" public housing thanks to the decades-long plan called "Jewel of the East" by the Royal Court.

In order to bring the country into higher standards as far as housing, Soverano and Grupo Ortega as teaming together to begin getting older public buildings into a "satisfactory" designation. Buildings in Norderms and Norterra are already seeing teams begin to replace old stone facades and repaint several homes. Many buildings in the colorful city of Norterra were beginning to turn "brown" due to old pain that had begin to chip away, revealing the buildings natural colors. In addition to modernization efforts, new neighborhoods are being built in suburban areas to keep up with the demand from population growth.

In the city of Libertaria for example, the connection to the sea makes it a profitable area for trade and long-term tourism. Beyond the city limits rests huge fields and valleys waiting for development. Dr. Jorge Navarro of the University of Norterra stated that the "government must ensure that ecosystems and wildlife creatures are preserved and relocated if the nation engages in huge housing projects. It must also used resources wisely--for example I can think of a good housing use for all the marble shipped in from Selucia." New housing projects will fit the "enlightened architectural style" as set out by the Royal Council in order to well represent Egelian, Caillean, Ghadrashi and other minority populations. A focus will also be placed on statues, monuments, canals, and fountains in cities to ensure that the public has amenities and places to relax besides their new homes.

Royal Councilor Cascabel and the Prince of Amateria, Artemio made a surprise press event at La Primaria Escolar de Santa Ursula in Dul Kinea this afternoon to introduce and present King Romulo's latest education reforms aimed at improving overall schooling in Egelion. The Prince of Amateria began the event by reading a speech written by King Romulo--who was attending a military meeting in Cartablanca that afternoon. Prince Artemio at first began in a quiet and shy voice, but slowly gained his confidence as he read from the speech:

Quote:The government shall work with the Real Academia Egeliana to create a curriculum and a national heritage that embraces our nation's history and prepares the youth for the future. the government shall embraces the ideas of a research-based curriculum, where students can use their schema to ask questions, engage in inquiry, and provide long-term solutions for long-term issues.

According to the finer details released and presented by Royal Councilor Cascabel, the current education system in Egelion would not longer be used. Instead, researchers and educational experts would work together to create an inquiry-based system where students are required to engage in critical thinking, classical thought, and the inquiry process. The age of schooling in Egelion will be defined from the age of 6 to the age of 27, with students focusing on their career paths after "La Preparatoria". High Councilor Cascabel, who applauded the young prince in his explanation stated:

Quote:I believe His Majesty is concerned with the lack of education and complete paranoia in our region. the Egelian people must be educated and must be prepared to handle the world's problems--past, present, and future. I do not believe that our current education system acknowledges inquiry or critical thinking. We must move one step above our regional allies. Egelion must be ready to tackle challenges in research and academics. His Majesty's reforms, which include a complete overhaul of the academic system ensures that all gaps of knowledge are eliminated and we remain equitable with our entire population.

As soon as next year, spending in education will increase from 123 Billion Crowns to over 204 billion Crowns. Royal Councilor Cascabel stated that a tall rise in education spending will be met by a more efficient education system, one where students may attend public universities for free and students receive scholarships for textbooks and supplies. Schools and universities will also begin looking for more teachers. Royal Duchies have begun to promote for incoming students to become teachers. Teachers will be needed from all grade levels. Current teachers will be required to take three new inquiry courses--where they will learn about the inquiry process and how it will affect student growth. More information can be found at the Real Academia Egliana website.

A developing story coming out of Cartablanca this evening, According to the Royal Directory of the Armed Forces at Castillo Garibaldi, Egelion has struck a new deal with the Mordusian government regarding the permanent basing rights of the Egelian Southern Armada in Eastern Mordusia. According to details of the meeting, conversations between Altea and Port Alexander have been happening for months, thanks to facilitation from Fort William. The deal does not include an entire exclusive deal that involves the creation of a military base, such as North Point in Nadiya. Instead, the deal with Mordusia includes basing rights for the Armada during patrols and rapid intervention missions in the Anantonese Ocean.

Castillo Garibaldi stated that Mordusia is not a permanent base for the Southern Armada, rather it is open for vessels to "come and go" as needed during the duration of the deal. According to Royal Councilor Montalivet, who oversees all military affairs, a base of refueling and operations in southern Seleya is "extremely beneficial and fortunate" for the Armada as on-sea refueling efforts can be costly. Not only do basing rights in Mordusia help extend the reach of the Armada, but it also helps Egelion protect its maritime assets, which go down the ocean to Kanjor and to southern Dovani. With the southern Armada now permanently present in South Seleya, Royal Councilor Montalivet states that "trade will be safe and waters will be secure from external threats. In a time of turmoil on the world stage, Terra needs stable and constant leadership to help keep waters safe. Egelion will now help keep waters in the Anantonese and the White Ocean safe considering the recent  decline of leadership in both ocean regions." A Luthorian base in Egelion's Southern Coast may be in talks, but not confirmed.

Breaking News: From the Palace of the Royal Court, members of the Conservative Party and the People's Caillean Party have begun to formulate plans to strip power from the monarch, therefore creating a ceremonial, constitutional monarchy in Egelion. The proposal was brought up by Conservative members, who received several "complaints" from their constituent throughout the country. Those in conservative areas felt that the government was "doing too much" to spread Egelian influence abroad, bringing in fear to a normally isolationist population.

Conservatives did not send the proposal to a vote, saying that they "do not have the numbers" at the moment due to indifference on the Caillean side. Roberto Filomeno, a member of the Absolutist Pary, outraged at the results, spoke to the entre court this morning stating:

Quote:You filthy conservatives are all the same! Never wanting to show progress, never wanting to change. Egelion has a major voice now and you all want to silence it?! By God and over my dead body will you change the leadership of this country. The royal Council and His Majesty have done a great job. Your attempts to add a lead chain to the golden crown will be remembered as a juvenile attempt at gaining power.

According to source inside the palace, members of the Conservatives went into one of the nearby Absolutist breakrooms and immediately began a shouting match. A battle of ideology and perspectives began. Some even claim that the members of each party were close to physical altercation, but were held back by members of the Altean City Guard, who naturally protect the palace all day. Absolutists came back into the chamber to defend His Majesty and the Royal Council despite the obvious power grab attempts by the two parties.

"I cannot believe it has come to this", said a member of the People's Gadrashi Party, representing the Royal Duchy of Yadraz.
Quote:"The Conservatives do not have full power. They don't have the votes to do it. Even if they did, there is no power that this court has that overrules his Majesty's words. I call on His Majesty to address this court and remind them who has the power..

More on this developing story soon.

Breaking news from Altea this morning, The People's Party of Caille, once a quiet minority party in the Royal Court, has joined the Conservative Party in passing a law recommendation that significantly limits the absolute power of King Romulo. The shock decision came hours after members of the PPC met in secret with the CP at their headquarters in Altea to discuss a deal. The deal, according to reports, says that the PPC will get a say in who sits on the Royal Council--despite Royal Councilor Mondragon already being a native-born noble from Caille-- while the Conservatives will get their own power through establishing constitutionalism.

The liberal Absolutist Party and the Ghadrashi People's Party joined together to vote against the Conservative measure, which was passed by only two votes, a 102-98 total. The leader of the Absolutists, Maria del Carmen from the city of Rozevia, spoke at the end of the vote, calling for a new election. She states:

Quote:The will and opinion of the Egelian people were not fully represented by this court. The nation does not stand with the power grasping of the Conservative Party. Our national ideology of Enlightened Absolutism has only brought us prosperity and has given us a voice in this world. The Cailleans and Conservatives plan to divide us instead of uniting us. This nation needs a new government!

Caillean members also spoke saying:
Quote:What difference does it make if we are led by the council or His Majesty? Power should be with the people and what the people want. We cannot fully trust one man to lead an entire country...right?

The passage of the Conservative recommendation is not a law. The law recommendation goes to the Royal Council to be approved or rejected. According to our predictions, the entire Royal Court is set to reject the recommendation. However, if approved by the Royal Council, the power vested by the monarch will essentially be fully given to the Royal Council, a move that even His Majesty's closest advisors do not expect. The law recommendation is already heading to El Capitolio, where the Royal Council will debate it before giving a final ruling. It is uncertain whether His Majesty will attend the meeting or watch events unfold from Sorsuela Palace. Sources say His Majesty will give an unprecedented response to the ideological efforts that challenge his power.

A busy morning is underway at El Capitolio in the Royal District of Altea, as an entire delegation from Kensington arrived to discuss several avenues of cooperation for Egelion and Lodamun. The Lodamese delegation was led by Merchant-General Hank Wexler. He was joined by Secretary of State William Tillman and Secretary of Defence Roy Baker, who were both there to attend meetings of their own. The delegation had one main purpose at El Capitolio and did not visit any other entity during their time in Altea. Royal Councilor Mondragon stated that the Lodamese government, now considered friendly by the royal government, is "welcomed any time to engage in a full state visit and sit down with His Majesty."

High Councilor Formoselle and Royal Councilor Montalivet led talks for Egelion with the Merchant-General. Among discussions was increased trade between Altea and Kensington, specifically regarding the trade of natural resources. Royal Councilor Montalivet stated that a tentative deal was reached between the Harrington Company and Petroleon. Petroleon, Egelion's oil and gas giant, has major operations in the Temarian Mountain range and the Kinean plateau to the west of the nation. Petroleon will continue its major drilling operations and begin exports to Lodamun. Talks of trade and energy brought up the point of security in the region. Egelion has recognized that the Anantonese Ocean region remains one of the safest in the world. Montalivet stated that recent tensions with Kalistan "have no direct affect at all with our own relationship with Kensington. It is to our understanding that the Anantonese Empire adopts an ideology of independent foreign policies--so there's no reason as to why our standing with Lodamun should be the same as our standing with Kalistan." Montalivet recommended the idea of security cooperation with Lodamun as both nations continue to rapidly militarize. "With our recent launch of ATENEA and our new maritime ventures into the eastern Anantonese and the White Ocean, it is imperative that we have strong and stable lines of communication with Lodamun. Our joint, but separate efforts to strengthen aerial defenses has made our shared region the safest in the world. We intend to cooperate and keep it that way for the greater good of Egelian-Lodamese trade and relations."

Breaking news from Altea, 10 minutes ago, led by a small group of Royal Guard, King Romulo stormed into the Royal Court with the Royal Councilors by his side. He assumed his chair at the front of the chamber and began to speak. With a strong, assertive speech King Romulo used his power to completely dissolve the Royal Court and called for new elections in two months. He also dismissed Royal Councilor Cascabel and High Councilor Formoselle, leading to their successors taking their place on the council. The surprise decision took the Royal Court by storm. Members of the Conservative Party and the Caillean People's Party revolted. They began to yell at the King himself and across the aisle to the Royalist Party and the People's Gadrashi Party. All 200 members of the court suddenly found themselves without a job.

Papers filled the room, the gavel from the Speaker of the Court echoed in the hall. The King, after giving his speech, left the hall led by the Royal Guard. Members of the Royalists left quickly to their breakrooms, awaiting to hear from the party leader over their new election strategy. These events come after the Conservatives and Cailleans recommended a law to the Royal Council to make Egelion a constitutional monarchy. the law, while rejected, made it clear that Egelion had been corrupted by constitutionalist ideals that go against the nation's current ideology. With elections in two months, the nation holds its breath--as even the most seasoned political analysts cannot predict the nation's next results.

Breaking news from Altea this evening, The Royalist Party has claimed victory in national elections after King Romulo dissolved the Royal Court, following a controversial power-stripping law. Results, while very much unknown just two months ago, were very clear this evening. Polls closed at 8pm and results were immediately released at 8:30. Several news outlets called the election for the Royalist Party, gaining over 30 seats in the Royal Court. The Ghadrashi's People Party came into second place with 46 seats, the most in their existance. Together the Royalists and Ghadrashis are creating a coalition called "Absolutists". The Conservatives lost about 70 seats while the Cailleans gained few.

The Speaker of the Court will now be Julieta Alvarado from the city of Egelburgo, replacing the current Conservative speaker. These election results show one thing: the public of Egelion disapproved of constitutional monarchy in the nation. The nation's current ideology of liberal "Enlightened Absolutism" is popular among the Egelian people as it still respects the will of the people, but power rests fully within the Monarch. Many political analysts believe this to be a turning point in Egelian politics. The system and its institutions were tested by several power-seeking individuals. It is clear this effort was not supported by the people, who have lived comfortably under absolutism. The Royal Court will convene next week to be sworn in pick up work left off for two months.
