The anticipated, and equally dreaded invasion of Meriath has begun, as the Vasseur Government has announced the formal beginning of a "Special Military Operation" within Meriath, looking to reclaim the island from traitors, and put an end to the Provisional State of Meriath. Promising a swift end to the emergency, and preventing unnecessary casualties, Vasseur has gone on to pledge that once Meriath is reclaimed, the NSOA will be repealed, and normal governing will return. The biggest focus has been on ensuring a quick operation to ensure trade and stability in the region is quickly restored, despite the rather anti globalist outlook by the MRN.

As the invasion begins, many are expecting Meriath to put up a hefty fight, but without foreign support, they are likely to not last long. Results are expected to emerge by the end of the month. Once the operation is over, Vasseur has assured that justice will be delivered to all secessionists, and that anyone involved with the Provisional State of Meriath, civil servants or military, will face high treason for their crimes. As domestic opposition is clamped down on, either being claimed to have ties with the outlawed CPCP, or simply being sympathetic to the Mutineers, Meriath is the only major opposition (that is currently known as investigations are ongoing into whether the communist remnants are preparing an uprising) to the MRN enacting normal, non emergency governing. 

Whatever the case, the Special Military Operation in Meriath has begun, and while many expect a victory for the government, anything is possible. As landing forces cross the strait, and what aspects of the navy didn't mutiny engage in combat with Meriath Naval Assets, the results of the operation will emerge later this month.

It would seem Egelian intervention in the Meriath Special Military Operation and the formal declaration of war between the two (technically three but legally, only two) states has seen surprising gains for the Meriath Provisional State. With the Egelian Navy preventing the Rildanorien Navy from reinforcing any landing forces that were able to cross the strait, most fighting has been on Meriath itself, albeit not as devastating as one might expect. With the navy unable to reinforce, most are expecting a forced retreat or even a surrender of Vasseurite forces on Meriath in the coming weeks. 

Sources from the mainland has indicated that the Vasseur Government will likely hold off on sending another wave with pragmatism seeming to favour the Vasseur Government for the time being, but it can be confidently said that no negotiations are expected to occur for the time being, if at all. Yet with Egelion essentially serving as the protector of Meriath, the Union of Rildanor will certainly have a hard time reclaiming the island. As for Meriath itself, while obviously it is focused on mopping up and kicking out Vassuerite forces, many expect the Provisional State to adopt a more civilian esqe government once the invasion is repealed and the island is stabilized. As more dissidents from the mainland are trying to make every opportunity to flee to Meriath, the island certainly won't have a shortage of politicians, both domestic and from the mainland. But, until the day comes when Vassuerite forces are kicked off the island, the military has retained full control of the Meriath Provisional State, and likely will continue to retain full control.

Whatever the case, this Special Military Operation, and the wider Meriath War (alternatively the Egelion-Rildanor War) isn't expected to escalate any further as other countries have declared neutrality. Unless the mainland can somehow get a navy big enough to challenge the Egelian Navy en masse, an unofficial ceasefire may look possible in the near future regarding Meriath. It won't ever be an ideal situation, but at least it won't be constant killing.

With a failure in Meriath, many expected Vassuer to publicly make a statement regarding the failure of the Special Military Operation, and the direct interference of Egelion via putting putting Royal Marines onto the island. Today, those expectations were silenced as the Armée de Libération Antifasciste (Anti-Fascist Liberation Army) has managed to conduct an assassination on Vassuer. With state media calling it a terrorist attack, the ALA has claimed responsibility and has vowed to liberate all of Rildanor from fascism. While they only maintain enough manpower and equipment to be an insurgency, they will certainly keep the government busy for some time as Meriath rebuilds.

Constantin Lefrançois has been sworn in, vowing to accomplish the National Revolution and curb the communist ALA. He's remained silent on the matter of Meriath, insisting to focus on domestic issues first, such as dealing with the ALA, developing the economy and rewriting the Constitution. While no comment was given on Meriath, it's safe to say that there won't be another Special Military Operation, as while hostilities remain and the war technically is ongoing, Lefrançois has remained silent on reclaiming the island, with state media praising the focus on domestic issues. Whether Egelion will take advantage of such an opportunity is an entirely different question but many expect the status quo to remain, and the war to be frozen.

With Vasseur dead, the MRN has every reason to crack down hard on the ALA, and enact their "National Revolution". As the mainland prepares itself to deal with small scale insurgencies, Meriath celebrates as it begins preparing to rebuild and determine it's identity for the future.

Meriath begins reconstruction; National Salvation Council pledges democratization in the future.

With the invasion from the mainland failing thanks to swift assistance by Egelion, Meriath has survived against the mainland invasion, free from totalitarianism and fascism, however it faces several issues still. Identity, and whether Meriath is simply the last light of democracy for Rildanor, Democracy, and whether the National Salvation Council will hand over power to a civilian government, and of course, reconstruction. While the island isn't in total disarray, the southern half of Meriath did sustain heavy damage from the fighting, especially with the Vasseurites conducting scorched earth tactics.

As such, the National Salvation Council has given two statements today in Leria. One, announcing the beginning of reconstruction, using Egelian funds, and two, democratization in the future. So, for starters, reconstruction. The Provisional State of Meriath is in a bad spot economically. The southern half of the island is in rubble, only Egelion recognizes Meriath out of every nation in the world, and it's technically a military junta. Fortunately however, Egelion has shown itself willing to continue supporting Meriath, and has provided the necessary funds for Meriath to begin reconstruction. Whether it be rebuilding homes, ports, hospitals, schools, whatever. Reconstruction will be vital for any chance of economic recovery.

Secondly, democracy. The NSC has not given us any concrete timeline of when democracy will occur, but they've allowed political parties to begin organizing (with an obvious blanket ban on the far right), such as the Socialist People's Party, Centrist Party of Free Rildanor, and the New Conservative Party. All we do know for certain is that elections will be held when reconstruction is done. Of course, the emergency constitution will need to be written, with either an entirely new constitution being required or using the mainland constitution. Using the mainland constitution would be controversial however due to the fact that the Union of Rildanor remains hostile to Meriath. Whatever solution comes there, it'll be vital to democracy. But for now, reconstruction begins. Roads, houses, ports, hospitals, schools and all the like will be rebuilt, slowly but surely. For a free nation, and a free people!

The National Revolution against cosmopolitanism, communism, and capitalism continues on! Former President and now President of the National State, Lefrançois has declared that while the ALA continues to threaten the National Revolution, it's first stage has only begun. The Union of Rildanor has been abolished, and the constitution has been rewritten. There is a lot to go over, so let us begin.

For starters, the Union of Rildanor is dissolved, coming with a new flag, and the National State of Rildanor has been declared, with sovereignty resting in the centralized state, and the national leadership. Furthermore, Parliamentary Democracy. Democracy is great. It's what separates is from the militarists in Meriath, separates is from communists, and separates us from foreign despots. But liberal democracy is what destroyed Rildanor. That is why the concept of National Democracy will be introduced. The National Assembly will be created, and all opposition parties will be banned should they fail to comply with national unity. The Movement of National Reconciliation will remain the voice of the people temporarily until the opposition can adjust. Furthermore, the executive will be granted stronger powers over the National Assembly, with broad decrees being allowed, especially in times of national emergencies. Elections will remain and be held every 4 hours. Term limits will be abolished. Every party looking to partake must adhere to embracing national unity. Liberalism and socialism will not be allowed to take root in Rildanor. These parties must be approved by the National Assembly.

To ensure the National Revolution is preserved and thrives, the values of anti-capitalism, anti-communism, nationalism and anti-cosmopolitanism will be enshrined as national guiding values. Rildanor will be defined as a unitary, anti-classist, sovereign nation. As for the economy, economic sovereignty will be a guiding value. Capitalism has burnt Rildanor. Socialism has killed it. Strategic industries and any industries deemed as strategic will go under state control. Existing private property and enterprise will be recognized, but subordinate and loyal to national interests. Cooperation between labour, corporations and the state will be enshrined. Class struggle and cosmopolitan financialism holds no place in this new Rildanor.

A new Rildanor is being born. A free one. One free from cosmopolitanism. One free from communism. Soon enough, the ALA will be defeated. President Lefrançois has guaranteed that. And soon, Meriath will be reclaimed. The National Revolution will endure and thrive!

National Salvation Council announces elections in March; Democracy to come to Meriath.

As reconstruction continues on, the National Salvation Council (Conseil du salut national) has declared that full elections will be organized next year in March, with all existing parties beginning the campaign season. Elections for the Free Congress of Rildanor, and elections for the President. Deeming the present situation to be stable enough for elections, the CSN has looked to ensure elections go smoothly. So, let's go over the current parties campaigning.

Starting off with the most relevant for the right, the Nouveau Parti Conservateur (New Conservative Party), otherwise known as the NPC, advocating for a progressive conservative vision, advocating for respecting tradition whilst respecting progress as well. Specifics within the platform include a national family stability tax credit, community policing reform, tax breaks for local and small businesses, and social stability. Their nominee for president is Maxime Boulanger, a former principal who rose through local politics. Boulanger has made the key point of his campaign to be about "compassionate progressive conservatism", and ensuring Meriath's soul survives.

Looking to the centre, the Parti Centriste du Rildanor Libre (Centrist Party of Free Rildanor), has campaigned on a platform of stability, safety, and technocratic governance. Key specifics include creating a hybrid public-private health system, an education to employment pipeline, creating a debt ceiling, and national service in the Armée de la Liberté et de l'Indépendance (Freedom and Independence Army). The nominee for president is Jonathan Génin, a former member of the military. Génin has focused on safety, stability and progress, particularly looking to work with foreign countries that recognize Meriath in modernizing the ALI and reorganizing it into a proper military whilst also ensuring domestic needs are met.

Finally, the left. The Parti Populaire Socialiste (Socialist People's Party) has focused on a campaign of hope, renewal, justice and community. Key specifics include a national living wage, a fully funded and public health system, humane housing reforms, an ethical and fair economy, and anti-corruption. Being led by none other than Victoria Vaganay, former President of the Union, and former leader of the Party of Independent and Socialists (POIT), she has managed to secure the PPS's nomination and is looking to present a new vision and redeem herself for her failures a few years ago that led to the election of the MRN and the collapse of the popular front.

All candidates are expected to do fairly well, so it's hard to predict who'll prevail. Between socialists, centrists and conservatives, what's common amongst them all is a dedicated major recovery plan, following the Egelian plan laid out with a focus on infrastructure, housing, the blue economy and tourism for the economy. As citizens will look at campaigns and begin thinking about who'll they'll elect to the Free Congress and who they'll elect as President, we can only look across the Strait with worry at the mainland as it descends further into fascism.

It would seem allies of the National Revolution come in unique shapes and sizes. Such potential allies include Kalistan. While they may be a monarchy akin to the despotic cosmopolitans in Egelion, they are unique. In a good way. Kalistan rejects liberalism, communism and capitalism, just as we do. They reject class warfare and favour class collaboration. They reject the dangers of parliamentary democracy. They are, by all accounts, an unlikely friend. That is why the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Simon Bruneau has been sent to Kaliburg to begin discussing the future of relations between Rildanor and Kalistan.

The goal is to ensure an understandable relationship between the two states, especially regarding Kalistani concerns over the crusade against cosmopolitanism. Fortunately, Kalistan has refused to recognize the treasonous traitors of Meriath, which allows more dialogue between our two great nations. Combined with Kalistan opposing the forces of communism and capitalism, there is room for mutual cooperation and growth. One key aspect that the President has praised about Kalistan is that they've rejected to lable the Movement for National Reconcilation and the National State as a fascist state. And we're glad that Kalistan has rejected the label. Rildanor is a free country fighting against globalism, communism and liberalism. Not a fascist hellhole. 

We hope for the best in negotiations, and hope that the world can come around to accepting Rildanor once again and continue rejecting Meriath. Treason and illegal secession holds no place in Terra, let alone Seleya. After all, if it happened to us because of an election, who's to say it won't happen to the rest of the world with Egelian imperialism?

PPS prevails in elections; Redemption for the Socialists.

The March elections have concluded with a rather surprising victory. Near the end of the campaign season, many pundits anticipated a conservative victory due to scandals around Victoria Vaganay's campaign regarding the fact that she indirectly lead to the collapse of the mainland government and allowed the election of the MRN. To the surprise of many, the PPS was able to secure a surprise victory both in the Presidential Elections, and the Free Congressional Elections. So, what does this mean? Victoria Vaganay, former President of the Union of Rildanor will be the first President of the Free Republic of Rildanor as the Socialist People's Party secures an 8 seats majority in the Free Congress. 

Vaganay has promised to enact her campaign promises, creating an ethical economy, passing a national living wage, housing expansion and reforms, and of course, creating a national health system. After being congratulated by Génin and Boulanger, she has vowed to make reconstruction and a fair economy for all her biggest priority. While reconstruction is ongoing and recovery is occuring, there are still issues. So while the PPS celebrates this victory, there is still much work ahead. Rebuilding a fair ethical economy based on tourism, aquaculture and a general blue economy will not be easy, but it must be done. Combined with the lack of international recognition, and the Socialists have a lot of work to do. 

Whatever the case, this election has had international observers from Gaduridos. While not officially representing the government, the Rosalana Garcia Institute, a think tank of the ruling PSSG did observe the elections, and found no major concerns. While formally Gaduridos doesn't recognize Meriath as an independent state, this is better than contempt at least. We can only hope success for this administration and hope that this election is the first of many to come. Whatever the case, Vaganay's six year term begins.

With a rejection of cosmopolitan globalism, the Rildanorien economy has been through the ringer thanks to the free market bourgeoisie. While immediate bleeding has halted, this doesn't mean that the economy will instantly be all fine and dandy. That is why Lefrançois has looked to export the National Revolution to the economy, and rebuild economic strength. Without reliable trade with the world, we will look inwards. This requires exploiting natural resources that we have within the nation. Diamonds, uranium and lithium. Reserves aren't alot, but that won't matter if we aren't exporting. It is a shame that our sovereignty cost us the friendship of the world, but if sovereignty means autarky, so be it. 

For starters, uranium. A dangerous element, but a valuable one nonetheless. Capable of leveling cities, giving you cancer and producing clean power. Only one of these is desirable. The environment is the proudest joy of Rildanor. Spineless cosmopolitans will seek to pollute the environment. And with the world turning it's back on us because of global oligarchs, we will turn to ourselves and show them. Uranium will be valuable in producing clean energy for country. Surveys will begin across the country to find adequate room for mines, and ensure quality and quantity. While they occurs, domestic refineries will be established. If the world won't embrace us, we won't need the world to refine our uranium. 

Next, diamonds. Beautiful and valuable. But less valuable without foreign buyers. Unfortunately, that would mean selling out to liberalism. That is unacceptable for the National Revolution. So, it's time to modernize the diamond mines. These mines will be modernized to ensure modern equipment and good conditions. Unlike liberal capitalism or socialism, the National Revolution will ensure that the economy works for the nation, not for a party or the elite. All mining operations will be handled by the Syndicat National des Mines de Diamants (National Diamond Mining Union). The SNMD will handle all affairs in mining and operations. Besides getting jobs rolled out, the goal is to provide domestic production with the tools to produce goods such as electronics, precision tools and the like. Should any states come to the light and embrace Rildanor, they can find themselves with some diamonds.

Next, Lithium. To globalists, it is a perfect element. Great for electric cars and other techno liberal ideals. For us? It's another resource we make do with. At the very least, it'll produce batteries for us. As such, mines will be modernized with new equipment and to ensure that they don't pollute excessively, alongside a training program to ensure that the workforce is adequately prepared for operating the mines and refineries. 

Unlike communist states who instantly collectivize the economy and crash into a famine, Rildanor faces a different challenge. By being forced into autarky by a hostile world, we find ourselves with little allies. We will have to make do with modernizing agriculture and achieving autarky there. Farms will be consolidated into state farms to ensure productivity, and agriculture will remain nationalized. A special focus will be made on staple crops (Such as wheat, grapes, potatoes, etc etc), to ensure food security and financial security for farmers as well as industrial crops for the industry. To ensure the National Revolution doesn't face a wall in the future, soil conservation will be vital. Alongside this, rural investments to support our proud farmers who have suffered too long under liberalism and socialism. 

Alongside this, lumber. Our forests are as great as our country is, and it is our duty to not just utilize them but preserve them. No matter what, replanting will be vital. Both to protect the environment against cosmopolitanism, but also to ensure a stable industry. State lumber mills will be supported, alongside paper production to ensure domestic demand is met. A primary focus will be placed on rural employment. 

These are not expected to be easy times, but they will not be difficult times either. Just different times. All for the National Revolution. We have no choice, but to push forward.
