Istalia condemns the Selucian regime: "Crimes against humanity, Istalia will not remain silent"
The Government takes a very strong stance following the revelations of the internment of the Yeudi population by the military autocracy of Emperor Scipio and about the menaces over the Migrant Pass

 ROMULA - In an extraordinary press conference held at Palazzo Antinori a few days after the elections, the reconfirmed Minister Imperial Secretary of State Marina Cantalamessa appeared before the cameras and the national press to announce an official, total and unequivocal condemnation of the Selucian government.  Gravely, Cantalamessa declared:

The news, which only recently emerged, of the progressive internment of the Yeudi population in veritable concentration camps is a horror that the world cannot ignore. On behalf of the Imperial Istalian Government, I state with absolute clarity that Selucia has committed crimes against humanity."

The Minister Secretary then delivered a harsh indictment of the current Selucian leadership: 

The brutal coups that led to the autocracy of the self-proclaimed Emperor Scipio represent now not only a violent attack on the legal order and the very dignity of the Selucian people but also an attack to the dignity of human life itself. His regime is disavowed by Istalia as an interlocutor and a legitimate government. The facts speak for themselves: political persecution, bloody repression, mass deportations.

Cantalamessa emphasized that the authoritarian drift is not only dangerous within the country's borders, but has now taken on a destabilizing dimension for the entire region given the threats by Selucia regarding the Migrant Pass, crucial maritime hub for global trade flows.

We will be unwavering on the threats to the Migrant Pass. Whoever thinks of threatening the security of the Pass threatens the security of the world. Istalia is ready and determined to act, coordinating with its Majatran partners and the states in the Migrant Pass area, to guarantee freedom of navigation and contain the bellicose aims of the Selucian regime.

The Istalian government and public opinion have been clearly shocked by the revelation, which emerged recently only thanks to dissident and external sources and then the pompous propagandistic declarations of the government , of the inhumane conditions faced by the Yeudi minority in Selucia. Cantalamessa emphasized how this was made possible by the widespread system of censorship and isolation established by the Selucian regime, revealing the concerning pervasive control established over the country.

A dictatorship that manages to filter information and isolate an entire country from the world is, by definition, a threat to peace and stability.

Concurrent with the political condemnation, the government announced a package of harsh economic measures:

• Total embargo on goods, services and capital from Selucia and on all non essential goods from Istalia (thus foods, medicaments, medical equipement and technology will be not affected by the embargo);
  
• Freezing and requisitioning of any Selucian assets in or transiting through Istalia;
  
• Adding Selucia to the Istalian diplomatic blacklist, resulting in the non-recognition of Selucian passports and a ban on entry for any Selucian citizen, except for political asylum seekers.
  

On the measures, Cantalamessa stated:

We will not allow our Nation and our economy to, even indirectly, support a regime that practices systematic persecution and we hopes that other willing countries are ready to adopt similar position to put further pression to the regime.

Then, concluding the conference, the Minister Secretary of State addressed a message of solidarity to the Yeudi people:

Istalia express all its solidarity to the Yeudi people and offers all the support and assistance necessary to put an end to this crime against humanity. We are talking about over a million people whose rights, serenity, safety and very survival are now threatened.

It is time to act together. Not to defend the interests of this or that nation or great power, but to defend human beings, innocent men, women and children threatened just for their ethnicity or beliefs.Despite, alas cyclically, the world came to think that such things are something consigned to the pass, once again we are witnessing yet another inhumane persecution.

To Scipio and his regime I say: free the Yeudi sand let them live in peace. And I call upon the rest of the world to unite in opposing this crime against humanity, because history will judge our ability to intervene when horror once again knocks on the world's doors.

With such a statement, the Cantalamessa Government thus marks one of the strongest and clearest diplomatic stances adopted by Istalia in recent years, opening a new rift with Seluncia, after the crisis over the tarifs on the Migrant Pass, and placing the protection of human rights and regional security at the center of its agenda.
