As Egelion continues its Age of Prosperity, many have begun to wonder: are changes necessary to those leading the nation. Since the establishment of the absolutist regime during the reign of King Amadeo, many justified the use of absolute power in order to quickly fix the country. Egelion for centuries existed under the absolute and dictatorial leadership of the Lariano Party. They sucked dry the culture, environment, and economy of Egelion for personal greed. This led to serious civil wars and constant conflicts throughout the nation's history. Once the royalists from House Montalivet took over, they established a limited absolute monarchy. While power was vested within the monarch, some forms of democracy were established. 

During Amadeo's reign, he rid himself of complete absolute power and instead opted to have a Royal Court: a group of nobles from all of Egelion's duchies to help better represent the people and decentralize power. For several reigns and years, this system has brought peace and stability to Egelion. Direct leadership and decision making has been nothing but positive for the nation. As a global power, Egelion of course will have its critics over how the country is run, yet its most vocal ones exist in Caille.

The Caillean People's Party, a leftist party that has always sought after constitutionalism, is now sending shockwaves through the country as their leftist-constitutionalist manifesto is beginning to make headlines. The CPP is calling for an end to the absolutist nature of Egelion's government and calling for true representation in decision-making. The CPP wants the Royal Court to have official legislative power -- and the Royal Council to serve as the upper chamber. The Royal Court would have the power to propose and enact legislation whereas the Royal Council would serve as an executive power. The monarch would mostly be ceremonial, but it is being proposed that he would have power to appoint those in the Royal Council--upon legislative approval.

The details of the CPP proposed constitution are going viral. Many people seem to agree with the CPP and their manifesto in most of its entirety. With the current Conservative government beginning to slide down in the polls, many are looking to the CPP for an overall change in ideology. While stability and prosperity are currently being felt, one might wonder what a division of power might mean for Egelion and for the world.
