The recent Elections in Midway have provided desirable, if not outright ideal results as the left wing Red Sun group, which finds itself in the camp of revolutionary socialism, have prevailed in the general elections, and securing leadership of the country, albeit with compromises to the centre left. While it is unlikely that the bourgeois republic will be toppled and replaced with a workers republic, this is still an ideal outcome, as Red Sun is not only the most favourable to Xsampa (and is supportive of Xsampa), but this is also a boost for the Dovani Union, as they've shown a strong interest in joining the Dovani Union (the question of the Dovani Security Organization or the Sovereign Sea Accords is currently ambiguous) and it is almost certain that Midway will join within the year.

As such, this portion of Operation Stagnant Ascendancy will operate in a similar vein to Bianjie, in that Red Sun will not need to be influenced heavily, but instead, simply supported via plausible deniability methods, such as think tanks, international party conferences, organizing support, so on and so forth. However, what makes Midway, and especially Red Sun a very key component to our interests in Dovani, is the Midway Canal, which ensures that the Sea of Carina has access to the wider world in terms of maritime accessibility. Given that the Midway Canal connects the Sea of Carina and the Sovereign Sea, like any canal, it is of strategic importance. The best case scenario would be Midway nationalizing the canal or at least, bringing the issue to the Dovani Union and allowing for a joint DU operation of the canal to benefit all of Dovani and friends of Dovani. It may be worth investing time, effort and assets into lobbying for this to occur. At the very least, the issue can be pushed enough to be addressed by Red Sun and force a national conversation.

Overall, operations in Midway are of strategic importance, but not under crisis. Establishing assets in Midway will allow for further operations towards Eastern Dovani, and may allow operations in countries such as New Englia (of which, the Republican Socialist Party is of particular interest). It should be noted however that rapid expansion of assets runs a significant risk of overextension and such a risk may damage all future operations and actions.
