Majatran flavors in Aloria: Sohbat from Solentia

January 5737 - Hewad is the owner of a small local restaurant tucked away in one of the secondary streets of Aloria's capital's less busiest districts; a district of the working class. According to him, his name means "Homeland" in Dudmani, the prevailing language of Solentia, a nation so far away from the minds of Alorians that's it's hard to distinguish it from the general "Ahmadi" labelling in Artania.

Culinary delicacies from Majatra have become rather mainstream in Artania, a wave intensified in modern history by the Neset - the notorious Yeudi network of trade that brought Majatra's air to the furthest corners of the rest of the world.

Sohbat is a dish that is served to honor and show respect to guests in the area. It is a way of bringing people together and symbolising unity among those who enjoy it.

Hewad suggested we use our fingers, instead of forks - it is, after all, the traditional way to share food with your fellow Dudmani when the heat dies down and the sun falls beneath the Western horizon.

An assortment of spices coats our tongues, but the chicken continues to dominate.

"A cup of Ahmadi coffee will fix you right up", Hewad beckons and rushes to pull a pair of glasses. He pours the infamously bitter beverage, smiling. We regretted it, but smiled back anyway.

For that cup had slapped the taste right out of our delicate Artanian mouths.
