Corwyn Government Falls as WPB Ousts Tanishtey; Joughin Forms New Coalition

The Third Corwyn Government, a coalition between the Civic Party of Beluzia and the Workers Party of Beluzia formed on September 5739, has collapsed, dissolved this month after the Workers Party removed the sitting Tanishtey without cause, in what CPB figures have called a unilateral breach of the coalition agreement.

A new government has been formed under Toshiagh Ronan Joughin of the Civic Party of Beluzia, this time in partnership with the People's Party and the Beluzian Progressives (Partee Aarloo Beluzian).

The presence of longtime CPB figures among the new cabinet's ranks underscores the extent to which the party's front bench has moved from opposition to government since President Kermode-Gilbert's election in 5739.

State Funeral for Jonah Margrove

The incoming government's first act will be to preside over a state funeral for Jonah Margrove, the People's Party Leader who died on October 5741. Margrove led the People's Party from June 5731 until his death, and over his career held some of the highest offices in the Beluzian state, briefly serving as Toshiagh in March–April 5733, and later as Tanishtey and Minister of Foreign Affairs from April 5734 to September 5735. His death, coming just weeks before the change of government, has been described by colleagues across party lines as the end of an era in Beluzian politics.
