Wiel intensifies diplomatic efforts

Prefect Grzkai Krlmékez, at the behest of Emperor Bunjamín, has initiated an increased effort into diplomacy with close allies together with Minister Klune Dnk-Kárak of Foreign Affairs. The Emperor has apparently voiced his concern at recent political developments within Wrnuke's close allies, and as sovereign of the Jelbic Empire the integrity of the imperial framework as well as good relations with its allies is His Majesty's primary concern. Minister Dnk-Kárak also added trade relations to this renewed effort, stating at a press conference that she believes in maintaining these relations and even boosting them with all means possible: "Trade should always be mutually beneficial, we believe that mostly it is, but in some cases on side profits more than the other, then it is our duty to balance the scales." At the time it was believed she alluded mostly to the Mordusia mining deal, since the government of Mordusia spoke about decreasing foreign investments and control in their economy. The meeting of Minister Dnk-Kárak and several leading Mordusian figures in their mining industry later confirmed this, showing Wrnuke's commitment to staying in the game. Trade Minister Princess Sófz Banmek-Sntazed, a distant cousin of the Emperor, commented on this as well by saying that "trade is the heart of Wrnuke's thriving economy, we will do what we must to keep the blood of our nation flowing."

First of all Prefect Krlmékez and the Emperor hosted Prime Minister Anna Kadiyot in Wiel, giving the Kingdom a preview on Kadiyot's upcoming world tour in 5572. Emperor Bunjamín insisted on heading the meeting as the figurehead of the Jelbic Empire. The Prefect later commented that the three had a "very productive" session but refused to comment on the details. The Emperor also commented about it to the press saying that the prime minister "understood her role" within the Empire. Political commentators have seen the early visit of Kadiyot to Wiel as a submissive move and with Wiel having no further comments on the meeting they generally agree that Anna Kadiyot agreed to any demands the Emperor and Prefect made. In the near future the Prefect is set to meet with the heads of state in Jelbe and Pontesi as well as the head of government in Barmenistan. A special visit is arranged for President Vanessa zum Clenonberg to Wrnuke in the near future. Wiel has expressed concerns about the recent path of Narikaton & Darnussia, with the social liberal Zum Clenonberg having a tendency to lean rather left on important issues. The Dual Republic has, under her leadership, been more reluctant to align with Wiel's opinions. The government hopes to solve all these "miscommunications" when President zum Clenonberg visits Wiel.
