Krlmek, New Market, regional office of the RBB, 28 October 5570, 11:27.
"These numbers make no sense, did you double check?" He peeled his eyes away from the paper and looked up at the agent standing in front of his desk. Flavz simply nodded, his eyes almost showing regret at the findings he wrote up. "Alright, well, fuck. Flavz, that meeting still on we have later today with the director?" Flavz nodded again, "Yes, she'll be here around two I think, or two-thirty." He nodded a few times. "Alright, alright, tell Vatím to scrub my appointments for today, or at least until three, or even four o'clock. I need to make this presentable." Flavz replied that he would clear the schedule. And he did, for the rest of the day he was not bothered again. Instead he spent all his hours at making the information he was given presentable for the higher ups.
Hours later, at 14:48.
"We do indeed report a 114% increase in drug imports at the Zardic-Wrnuke border for the first quarter. I understand these numbers are staggering but we are catching many attempts.." For the next twenty minutes he kept on talking while the big shots listened. He later learned there were even RSB officials present, all eager to learn about this recent spike in drug smuggling. The anonymous suit stayed quiet but the RBB superiors had a few questions. He tried to answer them as truthfully as he could. Yes, they occasionally missed a few during border crossings. And yes, the border patrol guards on horseback would sometimes miss a few slippery Zards getting through the border fence. After some arguing they did seem to respect the fact the Wrnuke-Zardugal border was immensely large. Larger funds were promised, with more agents assigned to the case, and after a suit whispered in the ear of the regional director they quickly announced that he RSB would involve resources too. "Fucking hell," he muttered, but nobody heard him. The current drug raids could balance the fight but in the end there was no way to stop designer drugs from entering the Empire.
