Emperor condemns death of President zum Clenonberg

The imperial household has released a statement written by the Emperor after the news of the horrendous murder of President Vanessa zum Clenonberg. The Emperor met with the President throughout the day on January 1st, a long-awaited meeting between the two which the Emperor personally requested after those governing the various nations of the Jelbic Empire noted that the Dual Republic was changing course considerably. The meeting was an attempt to re-align both parties and continue the cooperation between the Empire and the Dual Republic. Mere hours after the meeting the President of Narikaton and Darnussia was brutally murdered in an act of terrorism. To mourn a young friendship and the loss of a great ally the Emperor wrote the following statement:

Some friendships can grow in a few hours and then already feel like they lasted a long time. This is only how I can describe the charming and kind Vanessa zum Clenonberg. For years we stood at the respective heads of our states, yet we never met personally until yesterday.

During our meeting the President made a lasting impression on me. Tenacious, righteous, caring. Qualities only the greatest among us can attribute to themselves. When I was informed of the tragedy only hours after her departure I felt a strong sadness, like I had lost a close friend.

For several years the Dual Republic of Narikaton and Darnussia and the Great Jelbic Empire seemed to drift apart. When I bid my goodbyes to the President late afternoon yesterday I felt that situation were to change. The matters were settled.

I strongly condemn the cowardly deed that ripped away this bright individual from us, as well as the other innocent lives lost on this flight. I gave my sympathies and prayers to the relatives of all the fallen.

The private jet carrying President zum Clenonberg departed from Wiel an hour after meeting the Emperor, who by then had begun to travel to his private residence. Due to weather and the still unpredictable situation over the Migrant's Pass the jet took a detour by flying towards the Red Bass Ocean. While flying on the western coastline of the Jelbic Empire the airplane vanished from the radar. No emergency signals were given. When the blip disappeared Wrnuke's coast guard units were informed, as a high priority target disappearing off the radar was noted as suspicious. Parts of the wreck were located shortly after. By then the Prefect had alerted all nearby vessels of the Naval Forces to join the attempted rescue mission. The operation is as of today still underway and is attempting to recover the bodies as well as the black box to find definitive proof of the communist plot against democracies across the globe.
