Bennots calls for Presidential Action, Declares new Party Leader
Ananto Governor and Shadow PM Daniella Bennots-Carrangus stepped in front of the Microphones. Her brief press Conference was broadcast over the entire IRTN, to all corners of Kalistan. As cameras snapped wildly, the Governor issued a brief Statement:
"Comrades, I call on all of you, at this moment, to contact President Baker and demand action on a Government Bill which addresses the current Party structure in our Government. The current breakdown is the result of two failed Government Bills, and is a relic from the SP's time as the Majority Party in the Assembly. Obviously, things have changed, and SEE and the SP have achieved something more like Parity in the Seat Count. We call on President Baker to form a new Government as soon as possible.
"In the meanwhile, the SP will propose legislation as if the SP sits in the PM seat, as our prerogative would permit. The SP will name Dian Fredricks-Bennots, from Kaliburg, who is President of the Kalistani Student Union, as Shadow Prime Minister. She will lead the SP into the future. Fredricks-Bennots represents the Leftists and the Students as constituents in our Party, and her leadership, while not free of some controversy, is sure to lead our Party to the left. The Convention has acclaimed her ascendancy, and we accept the result of the Party Convention. We wish her great success in the coming years as she begins her term as Party Leader."
