In the eye of the storm: Likatonia advises against all travel to the anantonese empire

This evening president Elliott and minister Wilkinson returned to Clovisport. An emergency cabinet meeting was convened, this came after a trade deal and military alliance was struck between Likatonia and Kundrati. Gaduridos' president immediately made threats to sanction Likatonia leading the Elliott administration to cut off all diplomatic relations with Gaduridos and withdraw from the SEC summit, although we note that Gaduridos has no authority under which they can expel Likatonia from the organisation, Likatonia will be reconsidering our membership in the SEC nevertheless. Likatonia has closed the Trans-Seleyan railway line that goes through Likatonia for the foreseeable future. Further the Likatonian government is advising all citizens against travel to the anantonese empire and advises all Likatonian citizens to leave Gaduridos and Lodamun immediately. We note that there is already a travel advisory against Kalistan. President Elliott hit out at the Anantonese for their reckless actions,

Today I am dissapointed, we thought that Gaduridos especially would be better than this but sadly I was wrong. I would just like to point out the hypocrisy of prime minister Montenegro's statement she is prepared to sanction us, Likatonia, whilst they are prepared to allow Kalistan to waltz through Athosia. Lets speak the truth, in Likatonia we value our freedom. We do not wish to escalate, however we cannot let these threats from the anantonese empire go unchallenged. For Kalistan we offered the empress a peace summit, we offered her the chance to speak her grievances she refused that offer, the truth is Kalistan does not want dialogue with Likatonia despite our very best efforts. We agreed to a military alliance with Kundrati, we will support them and any offensive/defensive actions they take. Our Navy is fully prepared to counteract the Kalistani threat. We agreed to enhance our economic partnership with Kundrati we will be purchasing Uranium which will be beneficial for our transition away from fossil fuels and non-renewables. We agreed to purchase Farmakon-Z's assets in Kundrati our specialist knowledge will make it work, it will deliver tangible benefits for Likatonians. We will also be investing in Kundrati's infrastructure projects, which is vital for their economic development. I do not apologise for giving people a chance. So lets be clear about who the problem is here, it's not us it's Kalistan, Gaduridos and the Anantonese empire. We fully intend on taking this matter further to the world congress if it is not resolved swiftly. To the people of Kalistan and Gaduridos our grievance is not with you, it is with your government. We will fully coordinate with our commonwealth allies and all other partners in the region to determine a proportional response. The world can no longer be silent. Let me close with this, any threat to Likatonian national security will not be tolerated and we will respond in full strength.

Very strong words there from the president saying she will not back down and stands fully by the partnership with Kundrati. With Northern Seleya on the brink once again it is incumbent on all parties to restore peace.
