Lodamun-Baeguk Summit Held, Talks Abound of New Military Cooperation
Dramatic advance in a non-traditional but rapidly improving relationship

Lodamun and Baeguk hold a long history of relations, but besides moderate amounts of mutual trade with each other it has not traditionally been considered a strategic partnership of critical importance to either party. However, with Lodamun's growing strength and Baeguk's critical position near the White Ocean (known formally in academic circles as the Ocean of Freezing Cold Blue Wet Stuff), the calculus of diplomacy has shifted and both nations have sought closer ties. It was thus that today concluded the summit between the two governments wherein Prime Minister of the KGB Gwisil Gowoonyaesol met her counterpart the Lord President of the Lodamese Commonwealth, His Excellency Mr. John Haney.

Discussions were hosted by His Imperial Majesty the Hwamu Emperor at Beonyeong Palace, which was the main venue for the events. Lodamunese delegates were invited to try traditional palace cuisine and to saunter the beautiful grounds of Beonyeonggung, Baeguk's largest Imperial Palace, with a grand banquet at Yŏnghoeru pavilion. Yŏnghoeru is famous for its position surrounded by an artificial lake and of its splendid Cheonggiwa blue glazed roof tiles. Besides this, His Excellency Mr. Haney was also invited to tea at PM Gwisil's residence, the Teal House (Byeokwadae).

Discussions proved fruitful, with the two nations agreeing to establish lines of rapid communication to notify each other mutually of vessel and aircraft movement in seas and skies within their respective vicinities. Whilst this was the only concrete agreement to be signed and ratified between the states, it is believed that the two parties informally discussed military coordination and future base sharing agreements. Parties from Lodamun are also said to have been moved up the government's list of preferrable partners for arms trades, though case-by-case review is still required by law. At this time The Dankioray cannot confirm any claims beyond those corroborated by the Lodamese and Baegukese governments.

Ilbae Conitnues Alakasiptil Mayor Streak
With the election of Ŋōņim Çubaʒalaki (Co-Prosperity) to the position of Mayor of Ilbae, defeating his opponents incumbent Ikəwkə Sə̄ksənur (Ind.) and challenger Park Himchan (Hongik), Ilbae Metropolitan City continues a trend with what is now its' 4th ethnically Alakasiptil mayor in a row. Culturally Alakasiptil (also known as Penru) identity continues to be prominent in the local politics of Rokgi Province, where the community is most strongly concentrated. Mayor-elect Ŋōņim thanked Seveki-Buga, also known as Osikta Amin (Star Father) for victory in what was a tight three-way electoral race. It is believed he will govern as a moderate center-right liberal on a tighter budget and weaker social spending; with Ilbae having infamously overspent and required central government funding to overcome deficits garnered under populist outgoing mayor Ikəwkə.

Public Condemns Yeudi Ambassador for Resurfacing Comments on Dhondup
Social media is ablaze with fury at the Ambassador from Beiteynu to Baeguk, Yaakov Lichtman, over apparent jokes he was discovered to have made a decade ago over the death of the beloved and missed Imperial Yak, Dhondup. This week new footage was discovered from a day after the news broke of Dhondup's death. In the scandalous footage, Lichtman can be seen laughing uproariously, making jokes in the Yeudi language about the Yak's smell, weight, and how it was comical to see the Baegukese distraught over the death of a "stinking emo cow". The public, largely wary of past Yeudi influence in Baeguk and also emotional on the issue of Dhondup, has been vocal about their desire to see Lichtman expelled. However, the KGB government has thus far taken no action against Lichtman, and it is likely nothing of diplomatic or legal consequence will occur.
