Following her victory in the presidential elections, President Garifallia Kleanthou, in a public statement expressed her deep concern over the situation in Solentia, stating that it has worrying similarities to the civil war in Jakania, a period marked by the horrific genocide against minorities (the Kalopian Genocide).

She stated:

My fellow citizens, my comrades, I cannot hide my concern about the situation in Solentia, where political instability is putting the lives of the country’s people at great risk. Among them are our own people, Kalopians. I pledge to follow in the footsteps of Lydia Avali, who served as President of the Republic during the time of the genocide. More than 50 years have passed since the civil war in Jakania, yet the consequences remain painfully evident even today. Let us hope that such a tragedy will never be repeated.
