Microchip implants now mandatory for all animals

A major step for Worldburnerism has been achieved within the Jelbic People's Soviet Republic of Wrnuke. Since January 1st it has become mandatory to microchip all owned animals, finally concluding years of debate, protests, and lobbying. The proposal is a joint endeavour between the two ruling parties, the Heirs of the Worldburner and the Green Scourge, who through their Worldburnerist beliefs are seeking to further progress the Jelbic society of Wrnuke. The bond between the horse and the traditional Jelbic cannot be underestimated, as for most Jelbics the word for horse is jezhrjebrnfi or 'most important brother'. This praising name all stems from the symbiotic relationship the Jelbics and their horses once had, one that for most modern Jelbics is a relationship left in history. For the traditionalists that still live in the steppes and deserts of Wrnuke it still very much rings true, and that is something the Worldburnerists want to change. The state has swapped to using fers for horse, a word that has its root in Majatran and has no other meaning than the animal. This already led to some protests amidst traditionalist circles, who argued it should not be the job of the state to redefine the Jelbic language. The government however seems to disagree, with a spokesperson even stating that "Worldburnerism goes beyond any traditional divide, border, limit, it is the everlasting effort to propel our people into modernity and greatness."

A part of this larger step towards modernity is as such placing microchip implants in all pets and owned animals. The groundwork of the proposal was laid by the leader of the Green Scourge, Murad Pecnék. Under his guidance the policy makers of the eco-progressionists drafted a law for animal registration. The framework was later expanded to also include microchipping, to assure proper registration. The Committee for Horse, Pet & Animal will be responsible for travelling across rural areas to check if all horses and pets are microchipped. Experts on traditionalist living are expecting resistance to this endeavour, stating that the microchipping of horses can be interpreted as a way of the government to follow the movements of the steppe tribes. The Committee and the Politburo both deny this, stating it is purely to assure the welfare of the animals. They did however state that there will be further measures to decrease the dependency of rural citizens on horses, as this does not fit within the larger view of Worldburnerism. "A job done by a horse can be done far better by a machine or by man itself, this is a proven fact, we will mechanise and modernise the steppes and assure that the horses are no longer perverted 'brothers' or living machines but instead get a dignified living as the animals they deserve," said spokesperson Shmíl Lahm of the Committee. Several local Beks have allegedly stated they will refuse to cooperate with all these initiatives.
