Again, strictly as a player:
- I see nothing wrong with allowing bilateral meetings to be simulated on Discord, as long as they are transferred to the forums
- And only bilateral meetings and nothing else
- And as long as it's not expected nor forced upon non-involved players to grasp the entire thing of what happened much less acknowledge it, especially when the transfer to the forums is basically a transcript of non-forum RP
I generally agree with Louis this is a forum-based game but I also agree with the specific inputs from others on directness/efficiency (Doc, Drax, Aud, Augustus). BUT, as long as the latter does not erode the former, the foundation of the game.

As an admin and the guy who's trying to make/maintain us the game these days, I do have to say I really don't appreciate the approach nor attitude about the whole thing.
Especially knowing for more than a year now that both the mod team and me have a hands-off approach with the community.
You guys tried something that you thought didn't hurt anyone and when asked up about it since some of us felt it was skewing the rules, not only did you dance around the topic and debate it, but you've started a feedback thread with an intro saying "either accept it or we'll keep doing it, just not somewhere where you'll be able to do anything about it".
A my way or the highway feedback thread, after the fact.
I think that your proposal is a good compromise - that if you want to have a bilateral discussion and have it count as IC that you have the option to have it on the forums (which is more conducive for news updates and diplomacy between multiple parties) or you can do it on Discord via a dedicated forum channel which is only allowed to have those parties in that thread and nobody else (with the explicit exception of Moderation should there be any rules violations for obvious reasons). I also agree that, after these discussions conclude, that the transcript of the meeting should be placed in the appropiate channels on the forums or else it can't be considered for further roleplay opportunities.
I disagree with your third point, and especially about the "...especially when the transfer to the forums is basically a transcript of non-forum RP." What do you mean by this? If you're saying that the roleplay should still not be used for further roleplay between the two parties in that transcript, even when it is moved to the forums, then how should they move from that to an environment where it is considered roleplay? Should they make another ABU post on the particulars of the meeting, for example? I am heavily confused by this statement and would like some clarification.
As for your last point regarding the intentions of some, I do agree that the way the initial post which started this thread off should have been made a bit better. It is in bad faith to ask for feedback but still warn that you're going to move it to another jurisdiction if there isn't any compromise. I'll talk to you privately regarding my other concerns with your statement.
I will say this: this is a forum game, this statement has been repeated many times here. But I will also note that this forum game is an adaptation of a game that was made (possibly) months after I was born. There was no Discord-like software until maybe Skype (which I don't remember having similar features like Discord servers, to my knowledge, though I was too young for Skype) and especially Discord ten years after the foundation of the game. PT Alpha did not die just because of it's Discord-based system, for example. It is ok to start changing things after 20 years, it is the spirit of PT Legacy after all, and it is ok to embrace that change. What I fear is that we may have the habit of old habits dying hard. I'm not saying we should flip everything upside down, and this part of my statement could probably go somewhere else, but it is what I think and I reckon this might be a good place to put it.
