Crown Princess Imperial Coronation Muted in recognition of loss of Hwamu Emperor, Prince Bitsaeon
Eleventh Sovereign since Gwangbok Yushin to Ascend the Phoenix Throne

Crown Princess Baek Sohyeon, 61 years old, is expected to be coronated tomorrow, but Jesu Palace has confirmed that the celebrations will be significantly muted in recognition of both the funerary rites of His Imperial Majesty the late Emperor Hwamu, as well as the recent death of prince Ryu Bitsaeon. Her father-in-law, His Grace prince Ryu Bitsaeon, died just last week at the age of 102. The Crown Prince and His Imperial Majesty were the longest-reigning Imperial couple in modern Baegukese history, ruling from 5541-5616 for a total of 75 plentiful years during which they saw the continued evolution of Baegukese society.

Crown Princess Sohyeon will ascend to the throne as the oldest sovereign in Baegukese history since King Gwangjong himself was coronated in 5300. She is reportedly in poor shape and is already preparing her daughter, princess Chaewon - aged 23 years old -for her eventual succession. Meanwhile, her younger brother Baek Daejung, currently 55, has received the mantle of leadership of the House of Baek as the most recent torchbearer of the patrilineal line of Mount Hanma.
