A Visit to an Old Friend.

Heros of the Revolution Cemetery, Metz-Leonid, Xsampa
------------------------
Bhutia had enjoyed his retirement. He stayed away from politics ever since that fateful day in 5625. Things have changed a lot since then. He's grown older but happier. He did his best as Premier, and now he gets to enjoy peace. No more stress. No more managing the Communist Party or the country. He gave Xsampa democracy. And he was happy with that. He could be old, and happy. He would occasionally read headlines but for the most part, he kept himself firmly away from politics. Until a few days ago. The Red Bass War ended? He couldn't believe it. He couldn't believe that peace was achieved properly. But he knew what he had to do. He knew someone who would love this news.
It was a cold snowy day in Metz-Leonid. Cold. Bhutia put on his coat and walked. People were living life. Children playing in the snow. Families being happy. It was refreshing to be reminded of how far Metz-Leonid has come since reconstruction. After a few minutes, he arrived at his destination. Heros of the Revolution Cemetery. He continued his walk through the cemetery until he arrived at one special gravestone. The gravestone of Gurmey Aurousseau. Bhutia stood before it and cleared his throat.
"Well... Comrade... The war is over. It's a shame you aren't here with us. Able to see how far we've gone since you held power. The war is finally over. The Red Bass War has ended. And we won. But I know you... You never wanted the war to begin with." He continued with shaky breath from the cold. "I hope that knowing this gives you more peace. It won't undo the Bargas Chenpo. But I know it's progress. I can only hope you're proud of the way Xsampa is now. The Premier... Delacroix. She reminds me of you. She has your optimism. Some even call her the New You. The New Aurousseau. I think you'd have liked her. I don't think I can still believe it. It's finally over. I wish you were here with us. I really wish you were comrade. I'm sure many other comrades feel the same. But maybe now you can rest easy. The war that was thrust unto your lap is finally over. Rest easy comrade."
With that, he turned around and left. He made his way out of the cemetery as the snow continued to fall. He felt at peace. His entire time as Premier was in the shadow of Aurousseau. Now seeing the conclusion of the Red Bass War, it made him feel at ease. Perhaps the Xsampa he made was truly being better than he thought. As he stepped onto the bus, his thoughts clouded him with optimism. Maybe Aurousseau still had some optimism to share with Metz-Leonid, even after her death 30 years ago. Maybe Bhutia was just feeling sentimental. But he knew one thing. She would be at peace.

"Yet I am here, and here I shall remain to behold the world in all it's beauty"
"The world is but a stage. Why cry, when you can laugh instead? For laughter is humanity's preserve. Laugh it all off, fret not, Let's just enjoy the moment."
