Porchey announces deal has been signed with Sholemberg for basing rights.

Fort William - Foreign Secretary Porchey has announced that an agreement has been found after years of negotiations between the Luthorian Embassy in Amudim and the representative of the Sholemberg Nisrad, that an agreement upon Luthori's basing rights have been found. The Luthorian Government, in the aftermath of the operation in Yishelem, parked its task force in Sholemberg after having requested so. Now - it has been three years that the Luthorians have been stationed in Sholemberg, with next to zero incentive from either side towards a forced withdrawal. Due to the continued Luthorian presence becoming a fact of life, the Luthorian Embassy in Amudim instructed the Consulate-General in Sholemberg to begun negotiations with the Nisrad about a permanent compromise upon the presence of Luthorian forces in the area.

The Luthorian Ambassador to Amudim stated that it was a "priority" for Luthori to find a "satisfactory settlement for both parties" - when asked upon the wishes of the Foreign Office concerning this agreement, meanwhile, neither the Foreign Office nor the Foreign Secretary back in Fort William seemed concerned at all by the agreement - delegating the negotiations to the Embassy and Consulate-General in Amudim. The Yeudi-Luthorian Comprehensive Agreement on the Matter of Basing Rights was the result of such negotiations, both nations recognising that, as part of the Migrants Accords - Luthori was entitled to basing rights in the Migrants' Pass - Foreign Secretary Porchey gave the green light for the signature of such agreement, stating that the presence of the Luthorians in a permanent and entrenched way would "guarantee the long-term stability" of the Migrants' Pass.

Porchey defended the agreement from criticism from the radical leftist movement in the Radical Democratic Party, saying that the Empire's security depended on the preservation of the peace that has reigned over the Migrants' Pass - pointing out at the vitality of the trade routes in the region for Luthori's commerce. As per with the terms of the agreement, Luthori would receive the rights to base its ships in Sholemberg territory to conduct naval operations in the Migrants' Pass and accordingly protect both Yeudi and Luthorian interests for the preservation of peace in the region from outside threats - in collaboration with the 3rd Point Federation.

Foreign Secretary Porchey expressed the Cabinet's overall satisfaction about the agreement to a note given to the Luthorian Embassy and Consulate-General in Amudim, and the agreement would "hopefully" increase the feeling of security and collaboration between Luthori and 3PF member states, as the Luthorians takes an ever more increasing role in the Pass, as the Luthorian Foreign Secretary embarked in a week-long tour of Southern Artanian and Northern Majatran states, all members of the 3rd Point Federation.
