CRISIS IN RILDANOR|Istalia: "No to authoritarian drifts, yes to dialogue"

ROMULA - In light of the latest developments in Rildanor, where tensions have erupted with a revolt by Navy units on the island of Meriath and protests in various areas of the country against the far-right Government, the Istalian Government, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Lorenzo Fontana, expresses deep concern about the instability in the country.

The Minister, speaking to the press, said:

The Government of the Imperial State of Istalia express its deepest concerns for the evolution of the situation in the Union of Rildanor. Istalia will closely monitor the developments in the country but it already strongly appeals to the sense of responsibility of all parties involved in the ongoing political conflict.

Addressing the Government led by the Movement for National Reconciliation (MRN), the Ministry continued:

We call on the Rildanorian Government to listen to the legitimate concerns expressed by civil society and the opposition, avoiding any draconian or restrictive measures that could undermine the country's democratic cohesion.

Then, addressing the opposition forces:

Istalia urges the opposition forces and rebel sectors to reject the path of confrontation and institutional disruption, inviting them to return to constructive dialogue within the institutions.

The Minister then emphasized:

Stability in southern Seleya, a crucial area for the continent's political and commercial balance, is a priority for Istalia, which cannot tolerate the spread of chaos in an area so close to our country and, above all, so vital for intercontinental trade.

Finally, the Minister was keen to firmly clarify that:

No authoritarian drifts will be accepted or tolerated. Istalia expects the rule of law, fundamental freedoms, and the rights of Rildanorian citizens to be always respected, regardless of the political difficulties the country is experiencing.

In a subsequent note, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also advised all Istalian citizens against traveling to Rildanor, in light of the ongoing instability, urging those already present in the country to consider returning immediately. For Istalian nationals unable to return, or who are forced to travel to Rildanor territory for urgent reasons, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs recommends exercising the utmost caution, staying constantly informed, and avoiding all areas most affected by unrest and political tensions.

Istalian diplomacy, it is understood, has already begun consultations with regional partners and maintains constant contact with its diplomatic network on the continent.
