His Majesty the Emperor of Kalistan slain, the Kundrati Union responds.

The Emperor of Kalistan, Fredrick II Ananto, was slain yesterday after the "Democracy Forum" in Neveras, Kalistan. The Emperor was shot multiple times, and hospital workers tried valiantly to save His Majesty, who succumbed to his injuries at 4:23 am local time.

It is expected that Pavlina Ananto-Hulanevek will become the sovereign Empress of Kalistan. Gaining the role after being promoted by Emperor Fredrick, it is likely that this will represent a new strengthening of Kundrati-Kalistani relations. President of Kundrati Andrelopa Arruzabarrena commented their condolences, and the President's Office has said that she, Foreign Minister Jaizkibel Garaycochea, Justice Minister Isaak Arberas, and Trade Minister Gurutz Navea will all be attending the funeral which is expected to take place. Members of the Hulanevek family will also be attending.

The Defense Minister, Admiral Jamie Aguray, has said they will send a corvette and five patrol ships to Kalistan to protect the region from any unusual activities as Kalistan reels from the slaughter of the Emperor. In addition, Jamie Aguray has confirmed that Kundrati special forces and military units have been sent with the permission of relevant Kalistani authorities and Dame Jacqueline DuMont. These troops and equipment are expected to be sent to Sulari, Port Swedes, and Kaliburg. They are expected to provide necessary assistance concerning quelling the insurgency with Kalistani's militia and regular forces.

The Foreign Intelligence Service of the Kundrati Union reportedly has begun to provide their Kalistani counterparts with intelligence assistance and resources to hunt down the leader of the Democracy Forum and likely chief instigator of the ongoing violence, Mr. Leo Ingleton.

Statement of the Foreign Office with Relation to the Tensions Between Pontesi and Istalia

The Kundrati Union wishes to make clear that it wishes both sides to come to the negotiation table to ensure that no conflict arises between the two nations and Majatra.

Kundrati also makes clear that the ongoing tension in Majatra is unfortunate and threatens Kundrati and worldwide trade between it and nations in southern Seleya, western Artania, and Majatra. As a result, freedom of navigation patrols shall be extended from the Artanian Sea to the Migrant's Pass and the South Ocean until the tensions cease or are calmed down. This may include significant naval assets, including the aircraft carrier KuNS Quintinus Vespasianus.

Kundrati also offers to provide room to mediate between the two states as a neutral arbitrator.

The Union shall defend its interests, friends, and allies abroad wherever and whenever possible.

The Kundrati Union urges that the Lodamunese and Narikaton/Darnussians consider diplomatic talks to resolve the military-related crisis peacefully.

We believe, and we have signed into, the framework of the JAMS agreement allowing enhanced patrols of the Migrant's Pass. Given the situation between Beiteynu, Pontesi, and Istalia, nations must work together to contain tensions and ensure that international trade is not harmed through potential acts of war.

We offer our facilities to help facilitate an agreement to calm things down and establish a level playing field.

Joint Statement with the Foreign Office and the Kundrati Armed Forces on Potential Aggression from the Beiteynuese

Defense Minister Admiral Jamie Aguray made this statement in response to this statement regarding legally enforceable naval patrols in the South Ocean and the Migrants Pass.

I have spoken with the commander of the Southern Fleet of the Kundrati Navy and associated personnel regarding the ongoing patrols being attempted by our units in the Migrants' Pass and the South Ocean. They informed me that nothing unusual was occurring at present concerning any threats to Kundrati naval assets.

I have read the statement by the Beiteynuese officials regarding our presence in the pass which, before the Hubris War, was familiar, expected and even routine from time to time.
What we do not need now is further stoking of tensions. The Beiteynuese know full well that the ongoing situation in Majatra between Pontesi and Istalia is a general threat to the MSCO and Majatra. Such situations require everyone to work to calm the situation down and get it to a proper and peaceful close. Any war in Majatra, especially one involving forces in the Migrants' Pass like Pontesi, will disrupt international trade, for example, by Pontesian forces locking down sections of their EEZ and ports from others, which could increase insurance costs and the like.

We are ashamed that Beiteynu has attempted to chastise us for doing our part in securing freedom of navigation for every country's vessels that wish to pass through the South Ocean, the Migrants' Pass, and the Artanian Sea. We are further ashamed that Beiteynu wishes to blackball Lodamun and others from doing the same when it is clear that Lodamun and others merely want to allow their and others' trade to flow uninterrupted.

We urge Beiteynuese diplomatic and military officials to stop stoking the flames of conflict, lest that flame grows out of control.

Kundrati Armed Forces to set up a dedicated cyber warfare unit

Defense Minister Admiral Jamie Aguray announced today that she has met several technological partners inside Kundrati. They've brought up their concerns that Kundrati may be on the decline in dealing with potential attacks that may be performed on the Terran Wide Web.

They state that such attacks could leave Kundrati vulnerable to communications wipeouts in the future if there is a conflict. 

Thus, Admiral Aguray announced that the Kundrati Armed Forces would set up an inter-service cyberwarfare unit. The unit would be tasked with countering threats in cyberspace and performing cyber warfare on hostile powers wherever they pop up. The unit, called the Cyberwarfare Division of the Kundrati Armed Forces (CDKAF, or CD), has begun recruitment for its first troops, who will be stationed around Kundrati and who will begin training on various ways to perform cyberwarfare.

The CD is also expected to work with the Kundrati intelligence community as the community has experience working with malware and other cyberwarfare weapons.

It is hoped that the unit will be in full operation by 5560.

Kundrati Defense Contractors to build two landing helicopter docks and six replenishment oilers

The Kundrati Armed Forces will be experiencing a ramp-up in their arsenal as new replenishment oilers are constructed to expand and enhance the Kundrati Navy's capabilities for operations far away from home.

These new replenishment oilers, named the KuNS Frantzisko Bidanda after a heroic President of Kundrati during the Kirlawan Crisis, will hold at least 470 tons of general cargo, 280 tons of ammunition, 215 cubic metres of fresh water, 1.5k cubic metres of jet fuel and 8.9k cubic metres of ship fuel when topped at its maximum configuration. This will allow these ships to fuel three ships at once, with each side having a refuelling station and the stern side hosting said station.

The ships are meant to have a range of 6,000 nautical miles, 122 crew on board, and a maximum sustained speed of 20 knots. More information here.

These ships have begun construction. The first is expected to be commissioned in 5563, and all are expected to be introduced by 5567.

Of course, more attention is expected for the upcoming landing helicopter docks. These ships, named the KuNS Alexander Hulanevek and the KuNS Marcus Julius Frontinus, will have a flight deck of 202 metres with a ski jump ramp. Eight landing spots will be made available to Kundrati-made multirole jets or medium-sized helicopters, with the hope that these ships can hold a maximum of 30 helicopters or ten multirole jets and ten helicopters.

These ships are also expected to house UAVs. The flight deck is expected to help UAVs take off and land, making drone warfare easier. Otherwise, UAVs would have to land and take off in Kundrati itself. It is hoped that the ship could house at least 20 Journey UAVs. 

These ships also house landing craft and the Yanka Jelen suicide UAV boats. At least four major landing craft which can deliver tanks during amphibious warfare, or at least five Yanka Jelens, will be able to be launched from these ships.

With all of this cargo, the ships are to be built with a multi-functional garage and hangar space on two levels, each capable of 6,000 tonnes. The vessel will also have a complement of 900 personnel and enough equipment and support infrastructure for 1,200 soldiers. More information here.

Kundrati Foreign Minister slams comments made regarding Kundrati's actions in the Migrants Pass, comments on various geopolitical situations

The Foreign Minister of the Kundrati Union held a press conference on the ongoing situation in the Migrants Pass and of the ongoing tensions between Istalia and Pontesi.

On the question regarding progress between Istalia and Pontesi:

The current sentiment is not headed towards a peaceful outcome. The two states already do not like each other and it is likely that a regional diplomatic struggle could spill into a continental war. We believe Istalia is going to lose as the Beiteynuese and their partners have a significant military advantage. However we feel that a guerilla war-torn situation will occur given the fanaticism of the state. We would like to work with Beiteynuese officials, and only them or MSCO officials, on how to work further regarding this situation. I'd also like to take this time to apologize myself for our inability to inform these officials on our actions and we will be proposing solutions to deal with that.

On the question regarding the N&D Foreign Minister's statements about Kundrati:

I think this individual makes plain that he sees the Kundrati people as beneath his, that he sees our state as beneath his, and that he wishes to burn bridges for small acts. Either this individual wants to stoke fear or he wishes to enflame his or someone else's followers for an upcoming election. Why this individual wishes to throw sticks on an ongoing tense situation is beyond me, but it is clear he wishes to make us the state of the week to try and throw under the bus. Until this little child, and excuse my language please, recognizes that everyone, and I mean everyone, has a role to play in securing peace wherever conflict pops up, we will share the house and have a wall between us.

On the insurgent situation in Kalistan:

I am very happy to let you all know that Kalistani and Kundrati intelligence have found the ringleader of the fascist Leo Ingleton. While it is unfortunate that he could not be tried for his treasonous crimes, we are content that the situation has ended peacefully. I would also like to take this time to congratulate our troops who worked with local Kalistani forces on destroying the faux-democracy movement which tried to poison said country. Everyone there will be expecting a warm welcome back once they return.

On Lodamun

As of now we are very content with Lodamun. Their forces have acted professionally in ensuring the lanes of trade remain open and peaceful. In the few interactions we've had with their forces they've been the ones most professional and we look forward to working with them at some point in the future.

Kundrati pulls out of the South Ocean and the Migrant's Pass

Kundrati Foreign Minister Jaizkibel Garaycochea announced today that the Kundrati Navy will immediately leave the South Ocean and the Migrant's Pass.

He commented that the operation was not impacted by pressure from nations like Beiteynu and Narikadon/Darnussia. Garaycochea commented that the Navy had experienced numerous incidents that it was unable to easily deal with and that the tensions and piracy going on in the area were risking more Kundrati resources that were simply being exhausted. He further commented that the Kundrati Navy's presence in the area was redundant and did not provide additional experience in running in waters farther from the Kundrati mainland.

When asked if the ongoing spat with N&D was the cause, Garaycochea said that it was not the reason but that he would understand why someone would come to that conclusion. He said the withdrawal was purely logistics-based and that he has complete trust in Lodamun and Beiteynu/MSCO containing the situation.

The Kundrati Navy has already begun to pull out, and the remaining ships are expected to be home sometime in mid-December. They are expected to assist Kalistan once given time to rest and recuperate.
