After 3 weeks of intense negotiations between the Pastel Coalition for Progress, the Technocratic Alliance of Nadiya, and the Freedom and Justice Indigenous Party, the nation finds itself with its first ever male head of government.

Yang Songhyon, leader of the TAN, was the former president of the Radinese Commonwealth of Peoples from 5680 until 5690, he also used to be minister for finances and investments and was behind the infamous "A republic of million petals" that rejuvenated Radin's tourism and finance sectors through a series of reforms, government sponsored initiatives, and planned economic growth. Even tho he has an impressive track record when it comes to governance, Yang was mainly chosen to be the new Chief Executive because of his apparent neutral feelings toward every party. Yang's neutrality would allow for the new coalition government to effectively sway the HMDP senators and justices just so they can let the implementation of the government's policies without stalling the legislative process in the two upper Chambers.

On top of that, Yang made sure to compose a majority of his government of technocrats and experts from the Pastels, TAN, and FJIP. This choice to explicitly form a politically neutral government is seen by many as a signal toward the HMDP for cooperation across parliament and their regional affiliated parties that control Vrosnok, Brakav, and Kozacchyna.

Furthermore, during his declaration of general politics, Yang announced that his government will seek to liberalize the Nadiyan economy even further while keeping the current dirigist policy imposed by the constitution that is currently being debated by the Second Constitutional Convention triggered back in 86. The new Chief Executive also promised to address the Keitel Thaller reform by trying to reduce the huge spike in the age for retirement, but he insisted that a deep reform of our pension system is unavoidable.

"The directives of the NCB and Court of Accounts are clear, a reform of our pension system is necessary if we want to remain financially prosperous." He says, "Unlike other countries, Nadiya has a history of being smart when it comes to finances. You can see that when we adopted austerity in 5647 and managed to pay off our debt in 5656." Yang continues, "Honestly, not a lot of nations keep such a tight grip over their financial viability like we do. Most nations on this planet love accumulating debt, spend like there's an infinite cash reserve that definitely won't devalue their currencies into oblivion, and act like every thing is rainbows and sunshine." He adds, "and we don't have the luxury for that. So unless I become functionally braindead, I swear that my government will continue the policies of our predecessors and help maintain a healthy book of our finances."

Ever since the Winter Palace scandal, the relationship between the royalty and the people has been suffering a collapse in trust which can be seen in the horrible performances of the Princesses and Tsarina Association of Nadiya with them only securing 0,4% of the votes and losing their 5 senatorial seats. Yet the monarchy was tolerated by most of the population who didn't want to challenge the current status quo.

However, this tense relationship was put to the test today as a federal initiative asking for a second monarchy referendum managed to secure the required 10 million signatures and the approval of the NGA to hold a national referendum, Tsarina Carolina was notably absent during the vote which has been put on blast by the other representatives.

"The royalists whine everytime we ask for a second referendum to be held, but when it's time to vote on it they're absent." A communist representative says, "These Egelian royals, totally detached from the reality of the ordinary Nadiyan. At least Tsarina Anastasia and Tsarina Maria knee hardships, they fought for their titles instead of them being handed to them!"

After the referendum was held and the last polls closed in Radin, need outlets began making predictions about the outcome of the elections. Most of the outlets already declared the no votes to crush the yes votes in a +7 lead as they relied on post-vote polls that had the republicans as clear favorite across the 6 republics with Kozacchyna and Haivan even having them at 94% of voting records while Radin and Brakav saw the monarchists victorious.

Ultimately at 12:30 am, the NCEFT called the referendum for the monarchists as the yes votes managed to secure 53,2% of the votes, republicans won 46,5% of the votes, and the remaining 0,3% were white or soiled ballots that are automatically ignored during referendums. Even tho the monarchy survived the initial test, the second referendum held alongside the initial one saw the first option being the organization of Tsarina elections win by 73%. 

Already, Baek Chaewon has announced her candidacy to be the next Tsarina while two other local figured also declared their candidacy for the royal position. Carolina, on the hand, hasn't commented on these recent developments yet, but the results of the two referendums has sent a clear message to her that she must focus on Nadiya if she doesn't want to lose her position as Tsarina of Nadiya.

Following the survival of the monarchy and win of the electoral option in the last twin referendum, the different candidates for the position of Tsarina are spending millions to fund national campaigns boosting to boost their image with the population. 

While the other royal runners were busy plastering their face across the country, Carolina instead chose to address the accusations brought against her and became more active politically, she noticeably improved her presential record in the NGA, her seats within parliamentary ministries were filled up again especially within the Parliamentary Ministry for Social Affairs and Gender Equality, and she even managed to become a member of the Tsarina Maria Charitable Foundation after passing a series of tests and commiting 75% of her monthly income toward charity to act as a commitment to the foundation and their humanitarian goals.

"Honestly, I'm liking Carolina's recent change in behavior." Says a random citizen of Zarvospol, "I used to see her as detached from the life of the average Nadiyan, the fact that she's the daughter of the Egelian dynasty didn't help either, but seeing her out in the fields and active on the files that matter reminds of Tsarina Maria when she literally had a fist fight with an MP because he called for her death."

Carolina's PR rebrand to be doing wonders as recent opinion polls conducted by Vmeste show her scores improving drastically and even surpassing Chaewoon in some cases, but the Baek aren't ready to back down either as Chaewoon has also began a PR campaign within areas that host high Nova Beagukiyan populations outside of Radin.

In an outcome nothing short of historic, incumbent Tsarina Carolina has emerged victorious in Nadiya's first ever royal election by defeating her opponent Chaewoon of the royal house of Baek by securing 68,3% with a reported turnout of 87,2%.

Carolina's victory was mainly due to her successful branding as a commoner and open alignment with the All-Nadiyan Communist Party's Orthodox faction, also known as the Workers Vanguard Caucus, which has earned her the backing of trade unions and the People's Alliance for Nadiya with their coalition of working class voters and socialist intellectuals. 

Shortly after securing another term as Tsarina, Carolina announced in a press conference that she will be switching party allegiances from the Princesses and Tsarina Association of Nadiya to the All-Nadiyan Communist Party after the Party's leadership accepted her adhesion request. 

"To be honest, joining the communist was a no-brainer for me." She says, "During the campaign, and even before it, I was reading a lot of works written by Metz, Leonid, etc." Carolina continues, "I found myself asking, "why don't I spend my time toward pushing for the emancipation of the proletariat?", "Why does a simple family make me worthy to be the regent of a nation?", "When will I finally take the step toward making a communist utopia happen?". You know these type of stuff, logical if you ask me." 

While Carolina enjoys the flowers of another political affiliation, the PTAN finds itself in state of existential crisis as royals keep on leaving the party and Carolina's departure is seen by many as the final nail in the coffin of a party that once dominated pre-unification politics.

Coinciding with the school year and end of the administrative vacation, the Nadiyan Central Bank has finally released its annual report on the status of the Confederation's finances and their forecast for the upcoming years, and let's just say that the report has delivered a lot of good news.

For starters, Nadiya has managed to lower its debt back to 20% of GDP after 15 years of intense budgeting under the supervision of the NCB's board of directors. The debt being brought back to 20% means, especially for the political parties in parliament, that the Bank will finally loosen their financial leash and restore the 3% deficit debt brake recently introduced by the Constitutional Convention following a petition from the NCB.

With the NCB loosening her grip, the incumbent government under Songhyon will be able to freely carry out their promises on raising the NLW, national liveable wage, and hike up the defense, something the government announced in their speech of general policies 3 years. 

Furthermore, the NCB reported that the Nadiyan economy had a yearly growth of 8,4% with the second quarter of the 5698 financial year recording a growth of 13%. The main source of this growth comes from Nadcomp and Nadyrail's ongoing Veins of Prosperity project with the inauguration of the Keristream-2 and 3 pipelines alongside the Rodashyam-Altéa high speed rail line after NEKK's capital, Pontesi, was connected to Petrograd via a new HSR line.

To sum it up, the Nadiyan Confederation has been on a trend of positive growth and financial developments as it institutions continue showing their long-standing stability even tho the country's democratic mechanisms make it one of Terra's only examples of a direct democracy being carried out correctly.

The Constitutional Convention has finally put forward the final drafted version of the new constitution after 15 years of debate, making the longest constitutional convention in the history of Nadiya. The new constitution introduces a series of new measures such as:

The debt brake, a new measure which allows for the NCB to effectively coup the government's budget when the debt balloons to above 90% of GDP and permits the adoption of special laws and executive decrees in the imaginary case of a deadlock occuring between the two lower Chambers, namely the NGA and CoN.

The suspension of the only-female provision for the royalty, this effectively means that the Treaty of Petrograd's amendment banning men from being regents was temporarily suspended for the duration of this new constitution. While the provision still remains in the treaty, the third constitutional convention expected to be held in 50 years will still have the choice to restore the ban on male heirs if the policy doesn't work out.

Adhesion of the Monarch to the Presidential Council, while the monarch regent remains as a dual head of state alongside the head of the Presidential Council, they are now a permanent member of the Council which means that they must reaffirm their mandate through the current electoral system. This adhesion to the council means that the regent will be able to propose executive decrees and laws, veto laws (if there is a majority of 5 members), appoint a prime minister, become a co-commissioner, etc.

Transition from the socialized economy to state capitalism, this reform allows for far greater liberty in the market while maintaining the stability and trustworthiness of the public institutions. The Convention justified their decision to change the economic model after the economic recession caused by the Kerisian War and the heavy weight the governmental budget had to endure in order to satisfy the social requirements.

Finally, recognition of the equality between men and women under the law. This new amendment guarantees justice and fair treatment between the two biological sexes under the laws of the Confederation, while the constitution says they are equal, many still believe in the superiority of the female gender just like how in the rest of terra patriarchal ideas persist even tho people claim that their nations achieved gender equality.

Following the defense meeting between the members of the empire in Portesi, the confederal government has announced a series of reforms through the granting of a new budget for the Nadiyan Commission for Military Administration and Modernization.

Shortly after the adoption of the 5599 budget, Chief Executive Songhyon announced the start of Operation Renaissance, an ambitious project to expand, rearm, and modernize the Nadiyan Cooperative Forces. The plans is composed of three parts, namely research and development, rearmament, and man power.

The first part consists of opening the National Armed Archives, also known as the Citadel, and lifting of the ban on the use of Trigunian armed forces designs. This opening of the archives, only intended for the NCMAM's newly acquired state corporation, Svetovit Corporation for Peace, to develop, improve, restore, and build on the old Trigunian designs.

"While Trigunia was an abhorrent despotic state during its last era, we can't deny that they were Terra's mightiest army at their peak." Songhyon argued, "If we're going to give Nadiya a capable army able to not only crush enemies in cities but to also deliver blows in the skies and in the seas, we need to dance with the devil."

The second part is mainly made up of plans to build military-industrial complexes across Nadiya since the emergency factories used during the Trigunian war we're only meant to be temporary, they showed that the country can quickly and effectively mobilize its population and produce ammo to supply their troops in a short amount of time. The planned factories will also include deep sea military shipyards and airfields alongside underground bunkers across the three mountain ranges in archipelago to ensure a secure and steady line of supply sheltered from air strikes in war scenarios. 

The final part of the operation will handle the issue of man power, this part includes the renovation and expansion of existing bases alongside the construction of new bases that will host new recruits and train them for their future positions. Furthermore, the duration of the mandatory military service will be raised from 6 month to 24 months with everyone being obligated to do their service even the physically crippled, while the current announcement system for adults will remain the same, a test aimed at testing the intelligence of the citizens will be added so the recruit bases aren't overwhelmed.

Coinciding with the National Holiday for the Celebration of Love and Family, the Nadiyan Commission for Statistics, Forecasts, & Censuses officially kick-started the 9 months long effort of the decade census, but this edition is even more special than the last.

While the previous editions were often overlooked by the general population as another round of useless data and mandatory questionnaires they had to answer. The 5700 census, also called the Census of the Century, is set to show if the Nadiyan experiment was a total win or a total flop. 

Already, the NCSFC has begun dispatching thousands of their officers across the nation alongside opening up a website for volunteers that will help them get trained and deployed in the ground quickly especially since the current effort is focused on rural and isolated areas often overlooked by previous censuses. 

Whilst officers collect data, the NCSFC struck an agreement with the NCB to also process and analyse the economy data from all the previous yearly economic reports done by the NCB's board of directors in order to compare the developments in other aspects of society in correlation with the economic growth in the archipelago.

In addition to the NCB, the Nadiyan Commission for Higher Education and Scientific Research announced the participation of the country's universities into the effort of studying the data collected from the field workers and helping established forecasts for the upcoming 20 years after the conclusion of the census. 

"This census is the opportunity of a lifetime," says Myshkin Bogdan, a supporting doctorate in Statistics and teacher at the Rodashyam-3 University. "I get to study date in real time over such a span of time that covers a large landmass. This only happens once in a century, and I'm glad to be taking part in this one."

While the government is focused on building military complexes to accommodate the now ever growing number of recruits and national service responders, the bulk of the military intelligentia is instead focused on quickly modernizing and upgrading the defunct Trigunian designs to meet the demands of today. 

And today, the Nadiyan Cooperative Forces released a statement announcing the start of test flights for the newly released NC-99, standing for Nadiyan defense Compound - 99, the new designs is an updated version of the old TC-24 aircraft that used to be deployed by the Trigunian Imperial Air Force during the first and second Trigunian wars especially in the battle for Kaiserberg and Zarvospol.

The NC-99 is a twin-engine stealth multirole fighter aircraft developed by a joint Nadiyan-Egelian military research commission, the jet incorporates stealth technology unique to the Trigunian Air Force. In addition to stealth, the fighter emphasizes supermaneuverability in all aircraft axes, capacious internal payload bays for multirole versatility, and advanced sensor systems such as active phased-array radar as well as the integration of these systems to achieve high levels of automation.

In the Nc-99's design, Svetovit cited the Venus Traps TC-24 as the baseline for a supermaneuverable stealth fighter, but addressed what the bureau considered to be the limitations, such as the inability to use thrust vectoring to induce roll and yaw moments, a lack of space for weapons bays between the engines resulting in insufficient payload, and complications for post-stall recovery if thrust vectoring fails. In particular, Svetovit considered the Tc-24 design unsuitable as a multirole fighter required for the NCMAM due to the limited payload that was too focused on air-to-air missiles.

The NCF also emphasized the fact that the aircraft will continue being tested and improved throughout the year with an expected start of fabrication in the third quarter of 5700 or first quarter of 5701 which coincides with the planned inauguration of a military air complex in southern Brakav. The quick development of the aircraft also highlights Egelion's increasing demand for better weapons and vehicules in the wakes of their involvement in the New Verham civil war and having a friendly Nadiya as both a neighbor and member of the Kerisian Empire also helps them meet their defense needs even faster.

Since the start of the war in New Verham, Nadiya remained mostly silent with some notable instances of the central government denouncing the violence and calling for the return of peace to the region while other powers condemned Egelion's intervention, the Nadiyan government was already preparing to take their own measures concerning the conflict.

These measure came through the form of aid funds being given to the Nadiyan Red Cross, an independent humanitarian organization that aims to help people in direct situations all across the glove. So it was a no brainer for the government to give the humanitarian aid funds to the NRC directly instead of any secondhand organization.

Furthmore, The Nadiyan Red Cross declared that they managed to successfully strike a deal with the major warring factions in New Verham to not attack workers of the Nadiyan Red Cross and recognize their neutral and purely humanitarian position as benevolent workers.

This strategy of deploying humanitarian workers to all sides mirrors the policy adopted by Trigunia during the Rildanor war in which the federation had deployed workers across all of Rildanor with the agreement of all sides to not attack the Trigunian workers no matter what. It was successful that Trigunia ended up on the negotiations table as an arbitrator because of the extensive aid they sent. 

For now, the NRC has already begun sending aid packages and deploying aid workers while setting up communication lines between the different dispatched groups and the relay point in Lourenne which is being used a second base of operation for the NRC's efforts as more workers are sent to New Verham.
