War moves to ground battles as Istalia invades coasts of Pontesi and Kafuristan

After 5.000 soldiers were deployed in a plane to the north of where the naval battles where happening in the eastern coasts of Pontesi during a distraction, the ships continued to fight to ensure the occupation from the ground soldiers and several fighter jets bombed ships and bases nearby. Eventually, the other transport plane was able to deploy the other 5.000 soldiers in the same location, ensuring the area. Then, more ships began disembarking in the coast as soon as a port was cleaned of enemies. By January 5575, Istalia had managed to occupy a good part of the eastern coast of Pontesi, primarily some villages, beaches and ports between Arrevatsagh Astgh and Livianakert. Nonetheless, Istalia suffered the most losses in the sea, despite the success of this mission.

Meanwhile, Istalian soldiers have been able to occupy several villagers of Kafuristan in O'mer, but are finding it hard to proceed due to the harsh climate and geographical conditions for which Istalians are not fully prepared to deal with. They've been focusing on remaining in the area as Kafuri soldiers have begun to counter-attack. Although for now the situation is under control, it may not be for long. Several fighter jets and transport planes have sent towards Kafuristan, preferring to deal with it by air and deploying soldiers in key locations. However, the Istalian air force will have to be careful due to Kafuristan's more developed anti-air systems compared to Pontesi. A part of the soldiers have been mobilised towards western Istalia, as Kafuristan has started making moves in the area, including bombing some military bases and other key locations in the region.

Istalia surrenders: "This war was a mistake from the beginning"

Back in September 5579, Istalia suffered a great loss: the General Secretary Nevio Russo was captured by Pontesi. Ever since then, Istalia had been underpeforming greatly in the war, seeing how Kafuristan and Pontesi, as well as their allies, started to eat all of Istalia slowly. Since 5589, Istalia has lots all of its territories in the Majatran peninsula: the western half occupied by Kafuristan, and the eastern half occupied by Pontesi. The PCI only has the island of Alaria left, and they know they can't launch a strike back at them to recover territories. As a result, the war has been certainly peaceful since then: no more attacks have been launched from either side and both have been focusing on recovering and preparing for future attacks - or, in the case of Istalia, for defense.

Now, in September 5591, the Secretary of the General Congress, Publio Carvelli, has realised Istalia has no chance to win and held a speech in public, which made sure to be broadcast in the rest of Istalian territories, occupied or not: "Citizens of Istalia, today is surely a sad day for us. I have to announce that Istalia officially surrenders to Pontesi and Kafuristan, accepting our defeat and their victory on a war that we started and backfired us. I have always been very keen on supporting war and destroying the nations of Pontesi and Kafuristan... but this war... it has taught me that wars are not as beneficial and positive as I used to believe, and it has taught me that we were, in some ways, the villains too... without excusing some of the behaviours from our enemies. Nonetheless, I want to ask the governments of Pontesi and Kafuristan to cease fire and discuss peace with us, and I'd like to apologise, in behalf of the government of Istalia, for our unexcusable actions. I'd as well like to ask our people, our soldiers, to cease fire as well. Istalia has lost, let us mitigate the damages now..."

When interviewed moments after the speech, Carvelli told the media that "this war is one of my biggest regrets. It was a mistake from the beginning." And with disappointment and sadness in his face, Carvelli fled to his office.

Peace signed with Pontesi and Kafuristan

Following the surrender of Istalia in the war it had started against Pontesi and Kafuristan, their respective governments have held a meeting a couple months later to discuss peace and the involved nations signed a treaty that will be active starting from January 5592 until January 5516. In this treaty, the nation of Istalia is divided in three nations based on the territories that each government controlled before peace was signed, leaving the communist regime only with the island of Alaria, which will succeed the Istalian communist government. Alaria will be given a series of military and diplomatic restrictions and will have to contribute a 15% of its budget to reparations for Pontesi and Kafuristan.

Another of the terms include democratically electing a new leader that will be replacing Nevio Russo (whose fate will be decided by the governments of Pontesi and Kafuristan). As a consequence, Publio Carvelli has called for early elections and presented himself as candidate.

Całeon - Shocked and terrified by the outcome of the failed war waged by the leadership of the Socialist Republic, with the Sarrentine Peninsula occupied by foreign military forces, protests across Istalia have multiplied and spread like wildfire in recent months and this morning the most impressive one exploded in Całeon, capital of the Region of Nicoma, formed spontaneously but then heated up and led by the leaders and members of what presented itself as a new party for the salvation of the country, the Patriotic Front of Istalia.

At the helm of the avowedly Istalian nationalist newly founded movement there are Mattia Appiano-Solari, last rightfull descendant of the House of Appiano De Borromei as head of the last surviving cadet branch of the former Imperial Dynasty of Istalia, and the former Colonnel of the Air Force Floria Monaldi, descendant of Eros Monaldi, 1st Duke of Saxéra, seven times Prime Minister of the Third Istalian Empire and the one to serve in the post for the longest period, who founded the party in order to save Istalia and contrast the forces of the Socialist Republic and its incompetent leadership.

Mattia Appiano-Solari, having led to Palace Square with his friend and compatriot Floria Monaldi the core of the protestors, around which thousands of thousands of people gathered, entered the former Royal Palace of Caleon, seat of the Caleon municipality, with the support of some complacent public officials of the city, and reached one of the windows facing the square, began an appassionate speech denouncing the current regime and its leadership while Monaldi continued inciting people with the loyal party members remained in the square with her:

Sons and daughters of Istalia,

our patience and our tolerance for the current regime of this wretched socialist republic has now come to an end.
The monopoly of power exercised by what has become an elite of bureaucrats animated only by the will to remain in power has finally borne its unfortunate fruits: our land, our homeland, finds itself today partly occupied by foreign military forces and our sovereignty relegated to this our holy island, for centuries the last refuge of the Istalians.

The senseless war waged by the current leadership has brought us to this condition! Defeated, humiliated and occupied, forced to submit to shameful conditions that our country has never had to endure for over 5000 years. Our homeland has not been invaded or occupied since the time of the Quanzarian Empire, but finally, led by an unfortunate ideological leadership of bureaucrats that has become a cancer for our country, foreign forces have crossed the sacred borders, brought our country to its knees and prostrated our souls.

I tell you, as a true patriot, that without further delay we must rise up and demand that the current disavowed and defeated leadership step aside and return the fate of the country into the hands of the Istalians so that finally all of us together can once again shape our destiny, free from this toxic and failed socialist ideology that has remained in power for too long.

I tell you, again, that without further hesitation we must reclaim our Istalianity and the Istalianity of all our lands, therefore not only drive out the invader but also definitively oppose all those forces that not only in recent decades, but in truth for centuries and centuries immemorial, have done nothing but operate subtly in the shadows to corrupt and cancel our culture, our history and our identity, starting, and I tell you without hesitation, from the Ahmadist element, not Majatran one, mind you, but the Ahmadist one, and I hope that what has happened here in Alaria, the disappearance of the last vestiges of the ancient Quanzarian and Ahmadist domination will finally interest all of Istalia, inviting our Majatrans brothers of Istalia, of Auroran and Istalian faith and culture, to stand by our side for the safety and prosperity of their children, our children.

And now, facing the current situation of occupation, despite the most extreme positions that would like to expel the occupiers, even through real guerrilla warfare, I say that we cannot ignore the fact that the responsibility for this situation falls fully on the current leadership and that unfortunately the people will have to pay the price. But I assure you that passively accepting the ignoble conditions imposed on us will not be an option and that, also committing ourselves to foreign countries to remove the threat of the destabilizing communist regime, we will try to renegotiate the terms of the unfortunate outcome of the war and regain full sovereignty over our country as soon as possible.

For this reason today we must loudly announce that the newborn Patriotic Front of Istalia is born to face the misfortunes that the country is facing, the voice of all Istalians and especially of those who are tired of this regime and want a change to be able to start hoping for the future again. Only together can we achieve this ambitious and sacrosant goal.
Together we must force the current and now disavowed leadership to listen to us, to listen to the voice of Istalia and to free the homeland and the people from its wretched and now exhausted leadership, because the time has come to take back our country, our lands, our dignity, our freedom... the time has come to take back Istalia!

Much to the dismay of the Communist Party members of the city administration, only at the end of the speech the law enforcement forces entered the municipal offices to oust Appiano-Solari and his men, who were taken in custody for illegal trespassing of a stately public property, while from the square, surrounded by other very loyal men, the ambitious co-leader of Appiano-Solari, Floria Monaldi, continued to fire up the crowd in shouting anti-government slogan until the down of the sun, with the police forces able to freed the square only late at night, indeed just after the coming of strongest pression from the highest echelons of the Communist Party from Pontolach, temporary capital of the Republic, clear signs that the antigovernment feelings have spread also among the law enforcement forces and even the military, from which Monaldi resigned months ago after the shameful defeat in the war together a lot of other officials.

The Patriotic Front, as stated to several journalists reached by phone by Floria Monaldi after the arrest of her colleague Appiano-Solari, is aimed to bring back glory and prosperity to the country, to reintroduce plurality and a truly istalian democratic regime in the country and to protect and defend Istalian Identity from the threat posed by internal and external forces.
It is an Istalian nationalist party, with nationalistic positions on most of cultural and political issues. Economically within the party there are several positions from moderate centrism to very libertarian stances while socially, within the party two souls cohesist, although with certain difficulties: an aurorian democratic wing and a moderate progressive wing. Of course, for the moment, as declared by Mrs Monaldi, the party is focused on its crusade to freed Istalia from the failing and decadent forces that brought the disgrace on the country.

Also as underlined by the speech of Mattia Appiano-Solari, among the internal forces blamed to be a menace for Istalia and its people the party indicate alongside the Communist leadership also the ahmadist foundamentalists, considered probably even more dangerous than the Communist leadership itself, and in general the party shows to be anti-ahmadist and a supporter for the expansion of the Aurorian Church as the traditional religious soul of the country, the most radical members of the party even proposing to support veritable conversion activities toward the ahmadist minirity penalty an expulsion from the country. The events of the recent decades, the war against Pontesi and Kafuristan and the terrorist acts by part of kafuri-backed ahmadist foundamentalists, generated a general distrust towards the majatran minority of Istalia. Unlike the government, however, the Patriotic Front doesn't oppose all majatrans and in fact the aurorian and istalianized majatrans are instead greatly favoured by the party, thus a totally different approach to face the matter. As a proof, another important name that emerged in the last hours is the lawyer Kalid Camilleri, a third founding member of the party, notable istalian majatran pro-aurorian activist and legal expertise of the party.

Now we have to see how the Communist Government will react toward this new political movement which openly challenges it and the law on the ban of all non communist party in Istalia.

After the arrest of Mattia Appiano-Solari, still under the custody of the military police forces, Floria Monaldi didn't showed herself in public for the last month but she continued to talk to the country through the web continuing to attack the Government for the miserable conditions of the Country and increasingly exposing her fears for the fate of the Peninsula and the whole country.

In her last video-message, Monaldi expressed her fears for the risk of infiltration into the Sarrentine Peninsula of anti-istalian elements, first of all Ahmadi foundamentalists and extremits into the areas occupied by the Kafuri military forces, threat increased by the ongoing civil war in Solentia which has usual is pushing hundreds of thousands of refugees to flee the country, but she also raised a further threat: the risk of infiltration by part of the Beiteynese government, openly called by Monaldi as "a spectre hunting Majatra and the whole world".

Istalians,
the Patriotic Front cannot remain silent towards the indolent immobility of the Communist Government that has bowed to the miserable conditions of the peace treaty imposed on us after the unfortunate outcome of the war, desired by the dictatorial leadership of the Communists, by their leaders who, for their personal aims, wanted to plunge the country into a senseless conflict that has seen tens of thousands of our sons and daughters, fathers and mothers, brothers and sisters killed or taken prisoner, and that has seen our cities, our infrastructures and our citizens attacked, destroyed and massacred by the war brought into our motherland.

Today, the Sarrentine Peninsula is divided and put under control of foreign military forces whose presence greatly threatens our nation and our people, not only because they are occupation forces of the countries that won the unfortunate war of the Communists and the dictator Nevio Russo, but above all because they are the armed wing of anti-Istalian forces!

What does the government want to do to prevent Ahmadi extremists and fundamentalists from infiltrating, assisted by the regular Kafuri forces present on our homeland soil? What does the government want to do to protect the Istalians forced to live under occupation and prevent the silent enemy that is the small radicalized Ahmadi minority among the Majatrans from becoming the tyrannical leader of those territories, guided by fundamentalism and barbarism that characterizes these ignoble and inhuman extremisms by a religion of war that for centuries in the past actively acted to destroy our Identity and culture? Also because, we should not forget that just outside the borders of the Peninsula, in Solentia another civil war between the several religious and ethnic majatran components of the country has broken out, increasing the risk of mass exodus of refugees within which terrorists and foundamentalists can enter without control in the country with the silent complacency of the Kafuris and the Pontesians. The borders must be closed and we should be assured that the occupation forces will work in this sense so that, once the occupation will end, our country will be not forced to deal with hundreds of thousands of undesiderable aliens on the sacred soil of our homeland.

And what about the danger of infiltration by that old ally of ours, discovered to be a wolf in sheep's clothing, a spectre hunting Majatra and the whole world and of which Pontesi is one of the many puppets under its control? The cancer of the dark Yeudi Empire of Beiteynu, that has made its way by insinuating itself inside governments and organizations all over the world, will surely not miss the opportunity to exploit the Pontesi occupation of the Peninsula to extend its dark tentacles into our country again.
The threat of Ahmadi violence and barbarism and the subtle and cancerous Beiteynese specter are dangers that threaten the veritable survival of the Istalian identity, both to be recognized as the instruments for their will to supremacy and domination not only towards governments and nations, but towards the peoples and cultures of the entire world.

For this reason, Istalia cannot fail to be grateful to those governments and nations that have decided to distance themselves and not bow to the subtle influences and interferences of such dark powers. The government of Istalia, the government that will have to replace the Communists, who promised to reintroduce democratic processes for the choice of the new leadership and that must realize that it will not be able to keep everything within the narrow circle of the party, will have to reach out to those countries that like us have decided to oppose the yoke of these spectral powers external and alien to our culture.

But I tell you, my compatriots, that my hopes in seeing the Communist Party truly put power back into the hands of the people are really low! For this reason, to guarantee the people of Istalia the possibility of being able to enjoy the sovereignty that the Communist Party has taken away from us, I invite all compatriots who love freedom, democracy and who do not want to remain inert in the face of the threat that hangs over our nation and our identity, to join in the Action and Liberation Corps that some willing citizens like you and me have decided to create to definitively take back into their hands their destiny.

Long live an istalian, free, democratic and independent Istalia!

The only other key figure of the party that showed himself in public was instead the lawyer Kalid Camilleri, who assumed the role of defence lawyer of Mattia Appiano-Solari, who, despite the risk to be arrested too, decided to face the Communist Government and the legal system of the Socialist Republic to defend his friend and colleague, showing also his loyalty to Istalia as member of the Istalian Majatran minority, a key element that the Patriotic Front want to keep close and part of the Istalian Identity to fight the even more radicalized Ahmadi component of the minority now backed on the territory by the foreign occupation forces.

About the fate of Mattia Appiano-Solari, even Mr Camilleri didn't released too much news impelled by the Communist Government, limiting himself to assuring that he is in good condition and that a few days ago he was transferred from Caleon to the capital Pontolasa, officially awaiting trial for the raid on the municipal offices of Caleon, although it cannot be ruled out that he will soon be accused of having organized a non-communist party in defiance of the ban law in force, pivotal move of the extremization of the regime by Nevio Russo and the act that signed the definitive disappearance of even the last shreds of democratic appearance in the country, although, after the defeat and the promises of return of democracy we have to see if the Communists will proceed with this charge.

To be mentioned in closure of the article, the side effects of the rising and arrest of Mattia Appiano-Solari, namely the surgence of an increasing interest towards the last heir of the ancient Imperial Crown of Istalia that pushed the Patriotic Front to release some few news about him and his family: born in Endralon by Aurelio Michele Appiano-Solari, he is the third head of the House of Appiano De Borromei from the Appiano-Solari cadet branch of the former Imperial Dynasty of Istalia, descendant from Nicoletta Appiano De Borromei-Ingona, last member of the third oldest cadet branch of the former Imperial House, who married Brenno Solari, descendant of another Istalian noble family which moved in Endralon at the time of the end of the Third Empire following many members of the former Imperial House who chosed that country due to the fact that most of the economic interests of the family were discretely moved there after the abolition of the monarchy, having been for centuries a very important hub for the family business since the investments in the local based multinational 3M which progressively increased over the time, and although his family too strugled there during the years of the civil war and of the reconstruction, they achieved to protect their assets thanks to the long lasting world-wide divers investments made by the Appiano Foundation and especially by the GFCAB, the Appiano De Borromei family-owned private financial banking and asset management group, present with an innumerable amount of partecipations in corporations and economic activities in all the continents.

PARTITION OF ISTALIA

Following the peace treaty of Istalia with Pontesi and Kafuristan, one of the terms in it was to divide Istalia in three independent and sovereign nations: Quanzar, Alaria, and Istalia. These nations must remain independent for as long as the peace treaty is in effect, unless they chose to hold a referendum to join another nation - but they cannot reunite with the other territories that have been divided until January 5616.



Quanzar, named after an old and persistent regime in Istalia, consists of a state with the purpose of serving the interests of the Majatran population in Istalia, which were mostly located in the west and which, during the war with Pontesi and Kafuristan as well as before, had several groups of armed Ahmadi radicals fighting the Communist government and later sided with Kafuristan in their invasion of Istalia. 

Alaria is the last stronghold of the Communist government and the territory least affected by the war, defended by both Istalian communists and Zardugal volunteers. Nonetheless, Alaria has been seeing a rise in other groups and factions, both communist and clandestine, illegal groups opposing communism. The government of Alaria will have to learn how to deal with the chaos and their loss of reputation after having lost a war. 

The last territory left, which corresponds to where the capital of Istalia was, has kept the name of Istalia. This territory, while having been occupied mainly by Pontesi and its allies, has still a large population of people loyal to the Communist government. While Pontesi will not rule this territory directly, they would likely choose a government until new elections are held in Istalia, and will have to deal with this big opposition. 

While the territories have been divided, not many people are supportive of this division and still keep talking of 'Istalia' as a unified territory, as it was before the peace treaty. Only time will tell what will happen: will everyone respect the terms of the peace treaty? Will each government be able to stabilise their territories? What will happen with Istalian relations with the rest of the world now?

Prime Minister Abdur Rasheed el-Kabi, the civilian official in charge of the government of restored Grand Emirate of Quanzar, has announced that the government of Quanzar intends to bring a significant number of Solentian refugees to Quanzar to bolster the Majatran-based population. The decision, which has the ascent of Grand Emir Bassam, was first prompted by a vote of the Quanzari National Council, the legislature of the Grand Emirate of Quanzar, which responded to a petition brought forth in the conquered territories of Istalia. "We have a duty to protect the Majatran people, and those that are closely related such as the Dudmani people who have suffered in this war." The program, which aims to begin immediately, will seek to bring as many Majatran and other Solentian-based Majatran related ethnicities to Quanzar immediately. Minister of Housing and Resettlement Naazil el-Saade announced that they would be utilizing funds provided for reconstruction to construct new settlements and rebuilding new multi-family housing apartments for the refugees in addition to those remaining Istalian citizens who have opted to remain in the restored Quanzar.
