CPX prevail in 5720 Elections; Pure Apple Coalition formed.
-----------------------
February 15th, 5720
-----------------------
The 5720 elections have concluded, and it seems voters across the country chose to give the CPX the mandate to govern. Moving from 229 seats to 236, with a swing of 1.2%, the CPX has emerged as the de facto winner of the election. On the flip side, the XIP, while not suffering a total defeat, dropped from 171 to 163, suffering a -1.4% swing, as Karma's Entrepreneurial Socialism spooked moderates, who, rather surprisingly went to the ISDP, who is arguably the biggest winner of the night, jumping from a minor 7 seats to 35, with a swing of 5%. Certainly a jump that no one could've expected in the 10th.

Regarding the other party's, Left-Green Dovani held firm, moving up from 70 seats to 73, with a small swing of 0.5%. Steady growth, and stable. The SLP plummeted, as a majority of its voter base went to other party's, such as the ISDP, with the SLP falling from 37 seats to 17, with a swing of -3.5%. For the SPX, they've dropped from 11 to 10 seats, with a minor swing of 0.2%. Both the DSLP and the LBP saw a swing of -0.5%, losing three seats as the DSLP fell from 5 to 2 seats and LBP falling from 15 to 12. The GNP saw a swing of -0.4%, going from 15 seats to 13, whilst the DPP fell from 3 seats to 2, suffering a swing of -0.2%.

Normally, the CPX and LGD would have a fine majority, and Monlam Aurousseau would have a majority to enact his agenda, but after the results were certified on the 10th, disputes emerged between the CPX and LGD over the status of foreign policy, as LGD has demanded a moderate to be installed, or someone from LGD (as there are concerns within LGD over Monlam Aurousseau and his staunchly left wing agenda), whilst the CPX has refused to consider giving foreign policy to Left-Green Dovani, pointing towards the disaster that was the Mearvi-Shar Conference, something that happened under an LGD Premiership. While cynics would hope that the Pure Apple Coalition would fall apart before it even began, a compromise was made to include the ISDP, and offer the position to a moderate, with the coalition agreeing on comrade Gephel, a moderate within the ISDP but still a firm pacifist.

With that issue resolved, Monlam Aurousseau has been formally inaugurated as Premier and has made it clear that there's much work to be done. Continuing the Red-Green Revolution, enacting reforms to the economy to reorient it towards a more worker council oriented direction, and if conditions allow, merge the position of Premier and Custodian. However, Monlam Aurousseau will need to work with PAX heavily as his more radical ambitions may be watered down or outright rejected.

Solar Farms to be expanded; As the energy corridor is finished, energy output can increase.
-----------------------
July 7th, 5720
-----------------------
Solar expansion? You wouldn't be amiss to think that the Auclair Administration was the one who did that, and that the Aurousseau Administration is simply repeating ground. Except, the last expansion was about gradual and largely relegated to rooftop solar. Which isn't exactly ideal for energy production. To that end, solar farms will need to be expanded tenfold. Of course, hydro and wind will need to be included, but small steps. As such, in the recently completed energy corridor, solar farms will be established as solar is the cheapest to make, less maintenance heavy, and fastest to produce. The goal will be to start providing direct power to the National Energy Grid and begin the first steps toward moving the country away reliance on foreign energy. Of course, simply placing solar panels and expanding hydro and wind energy won't suddenly mean that the Red-Green Revolution is done like that, and it'll be a multi decade project at best, but for this step, it'll be a good start.

As such, the Xsampan Job Corps will be utilized, and primarily focused on where the energy corridor is located, primarily within the North (thanks to the general climate of the North). On it own, it won't power the nation, but it could power the Northern Cantons (such as Sharringpo), and pave the way for powering the North, and the South. But let's not get ahead of ourselves. For now, the focus will be ok constructing and expanding solar farms. Fortunately, there is some infrastructure to work with as the country had a minor but notable green energy sector. So this'll make it cheaper for expansion.

Regarding hydro and wind, the Aurousseau Administration is choosing to wait until the solar farms are accomplished but those two power sources will find more support across the country (as the Hanzen Shield Mountain Range can color wind more better) and the South has more rivers to work with for hydro energy. Whatever the case, small steps are still steps in the right direction.

Left-Green Dovani Maximalists break off; Xsampan Section of the Dovanian Congress to form.
----------------------
October 7th, 5720
----------------------
When the Aurousseau Administration formed and granted foreign policy to the ISDP, the ever vocal Maximalist wing of Left-Green Dovani, which is (infamous) renowned for being particularly vocal about Dovani nationalism and integration had made their grievances clearer by the day as the ISDP's moderate and almost pro western policy has angered many Maximalists. With the Left-Green Dovani Central Committee refusing to appoint Maximalists to leadership positions after a forced Emergency Party Meeting (thanks to excessive Maximalist pressure), the Maximalists walked out, and the following day declared their resignations from Left-Green Dovani, and by October 6th, had formed the Xsampan Section of the Dovanian Congress (XSDC).

Out of the 73 seats belonging to Left-Green Dovani, about 21 Assemblymembers defected, largely being Maximalists and even some moderate Actionists who have been increasingly dissatisfied with party leadership. Almost immediately, the XSDC quickly formalized it's platform, making Pan-Dovani Nationalism a key tenet of the party, promoting a more open and clear vision of Pan-Dovani integration, and has made a particular point of wanting Xsampa to withdrawal from the Altéa Accords and any other "Anti-Dovani" treaty. While the Pure Apple Coalition still has enough seats to maintain a government, it's a lot more reliant on the ISDP now, something which ironically may only further anger the XSDC.

Whatever the case, a new party has found itself in PAX and the 21 Assemblymembers haven't been recalled by their community members, so there is genuine support it seems for the XSDC. Whether they'll ever be able to govern however, is an entirely different question.

Market Modernization Act fails 276-288; Aurousseau pledges to create a compromise bill.
-------------------------
January 2nd, 5721
-------------------------
The Market Modernization Act, a bill introduced by the CPX New Line faction, which would essentially, if passed, redirect the economy towards more council control, mandating worker councils be strengthened in every industry and workplace, strengthen the Trade Union Unity League, and reorganize Social Enterprises to be more council oriented. After much rounds of negotiations in December, the bill was set to be voted on on new years. On the 31st PAX voted to reject the bill, by a margin of 276-288. While the Pure Apple Coalition held, it would appear that the bill was simply too radical for PAX to accept it.

While the opposition has celebrated, Aurousseau has pledged to negotiate with PAX to pass a moderate bill. However, he'll likely need to make significant concessions to Left-Green Dovani, the ISDP (both coalition partners who were uneasy about the MMA), and reach out to the small SLP, and perhaps even try to get concessions from XIP. But, Aurousseau has been undeterred, determined to pass some bill to expand Worker Councils. Equally, those on the CPX New Line faction have been campaigning in districts to convince voters to support the bill for its eventual revote that will occur later this year.

Whatever the case, the bill has been firmly rejected and it's considerable damage for Aurousseau's political capital. But, undeterred as he may be, the bill will likely be put forward again in the future, albeit with significant concessions to ensure it passes.

(Editorial) Is the socialist world united? Or is it divided bitterly beneath false flattery?
---------------------
May 1st, 5721
---------------------
Within Terra, there are very few socialist states. So, it's no surprise that many within the socialist world preach unity above all, and usually find themselves rejecting (to varying degrees) "one size fits all" mentality. After all, with so few socialist states in the world, the Proletariat must stick together against the endless forces of Capital. However, therein lies the question. Is the socialist world truly united? On paper, yes. Tukarali, Dranea, Xsampa and Utaristan all share positive relations with one another in some shape or form. However, each state does have a significant different approach to socialism. Ones that have frequently garnered criticism from all four states. Between Utaristan embracing a very Orthodox commitment to Metzism-Leonidism, and Xsampa sticking with Participatory Metzism (ignoring the election of Premier Aurousseau and his self claimed "council communist" ideas), with Dranea and Tukarali in between both poles, it begs the question of if the socialist world is truly as united as it champions itself to be.

The fundamental issue largely comes down to economics, as out of all four, Xsampa remains the only definitively pluralist one (as Dranea and Utaristan remain firm one party states and Tukarali is a more special case). In terms of economics, this is where the difference and the issues stem from. Utaristan and Dranea find themselves more towards traditionalized forms of socialism. While not entirely a planned economy (due to its inefficiency at times), they are far more state oriented, whilst Xsampa and Tukarali find themselves on the opposite side of the spectrum, trusting markets as a concept and using them for the advancement of socialism. It's especially no secret that Utaristan has had frequent criticisms of the Xsampan model, both in terms of foreign policy approach (Peaceful Coexistence Theory), and of course, Xsampan Market Socialism, which has been criticized as simply capitalism wearing red.

And equally, Xsampan socialists have had issues with Utaristan (even while both states are technically friendly to one another), most especially over the authoritarian (and in most extreme cases), conservative nature of Utaristan. This doesn't even get into the lack of a proper Socialist International, as despite some talks within the Communist Party of Xsampa for creating an international party organization, the talks fell through, and any formal Socialist International (like the SocIntern of old) has not been largely attempted. So, is the Socialist World united? It isn't trying to kill one another. That's for certain. But equally, the Socialist World has disagreements with one another. Perhaps they can change, in the future. But at the moment, the Socialist World is focused on unity on a surface level, and simply surviving first and foremost, in a world dominated by capital.

Economic Democracy Act passes PAX; A moderate MMA Rewrite passes.
-------------------------
November 6th, 5721
-------------------------
When PAX rejected the Market Modernization Act earlier this year, Premier Aurousseau and the CPX Left set out on a mission to pass a moderate rewrite. Despite skepticism from those on the political right, the Economic Democracy Act was proposed to PAX, which was surprisingly more moderate and acceptable, not just to the Pure Apple Coalition, but also some of the opposition. As such, despite opposition from XIP (who have looked to position themselves as strong supporters of Social Enterprises), the EDA passed PAX, and was signed into law.

So, what exactly does the EDA do? Well, instead of mandating all industries immediately empower Worker councils, it shall be tiered. Large Social Enterprises will be required to empower Worker Councils with binding co decision power, whilst medium ones will also need to support Worker Councils but with shared management instead. Minor Social Enterprises (such as small businesses) will be optional, but encouraged, as this was a concession made to the ISDP. Alongside this, Social Enterprises will now operate dual power, with Worker Councils determining strategic and labour decisions and management boards determining technical and operational execution. Councils will have the ability to override key decisions on layoffs, workplace conditions and radical restructuring. To ensure that worker councils can coordinate and not be a chaotic anarchist esqe mess, the Trade Union Unity League will have the responsibilities of not only coordinating sectoral unions, but worker councils, looking to moderate disputes, share best practices, and link councils across industries.

Of course, befitting the nature of compromise, concessions were made to Social Enterprises (to secure moderate XIP votes and the ISDPs loyalty), and Social Enterprises will still be recognized as legitimate, and retain autonomy in market competition and production. Market Socialism is here to stay, but it will receive heavy council communist influence. Whether successful or not, it is one of Aurousseau's biggest victories so far. And that's more than others can say in his position.

Within Dovani, you will find many gems. And in Southern Dovani, you will find the Democratic Republic of Xsampa. A socialist country with picturesque mountains in the North, roaming plains and forests in the South, and a wide coast to the East. So, it's no surprise that tourists do come to Xsampa when they can to see the sights of the country. However, ever so often, we see a case of tourists (understandably) being confused on expected norms within Xsampa, and where to visit. And that, is where today's conversation comes into play.

The first thing to be established is of course, where to visit? After all, very rarely is the door open for tourists for most of Xsampa beyond a handful of cities and natural parks. So, let us start with the cities that are open to tourists, and what to do there before we cover anything else. First and foremost, the capital of the Xsampan Revolution, Metz-Leonid. Within the capital, tourists can find themselves with a plethora of activities to do, such as visiting cat cafes, or attending an opera. Or, if they prefer, they can see the sights of the city, such as the People's Palace, or perhaps Revolution Square and the assorted parks (with plenty of fountains) would interest them. If they're feeling particularly somber, they can visit the Memorial to the Victims of Nuclear War.

Or perhaps, instead of visiting the bustling capital, they can visit the calm and quiet university town of Lenakha, where they can see the libraries across the city, the picturesque valley. Alternatively, they can go to the border with Bianjie, and see the The Monument to Eternal Friendship between Xsampa and Bianjie. A wonderful monument of two dinosaurs, symbolizing the friendship between Bianjie and Xsampa. Or maybe, they'd like to go south, below the Hanzen Shield Mountain Range, and see cities such as Gramdkarpo, with its stunning beaches, perfect for sunbathing, or surfing. Or perhaps, the Yak Petting Zoos in Gyatso Drong.

But with options come norms. Xsampa is a socialist country after all, and with most of the world capitalist, there are always bound to be cultural confusions. So for tourists, the do's and do nots of Xsampa are fairly simple. Do use the term "comrade" when addressing a Xsampan. Do not flaunt wealth. Do engage with Xsampans, we love a good conversation with foreigners. Do not mock the Bargas Chenpo. Tourists are guests, but even a rowdy guest can be thrown out. Tourists are usually given the benefit of the doubt, but it is worth noting that if a tourist is too troublesome, they do run the risk of being ejected out of the country and sent home, and in the worst cases, blacklisted from entering Xsampa outright.

Whatever the case, this is but a small segment for tourists, but it should ideally be enough to assist tourists who do wish to visit one of the worlds longest lasting socialist states, and see socialist culture in action, or see the natural wonders of Xsampa.

Premier Monlam Aurousseau prepares end of year rally scheduled for December; "Reaffirming where our vision for socialism goes".
-----------------------
October 19th, 5722
-----------------------
Ever since the Economic Democracy Act passed, Premier Aurousseau has been going back and forth with PAX over the future of his administration, and while the public is largely receptive to reforms, the public is equally skeptical of rapid sudden change (as Xsampans have almost always historically favoured slow and steady progress). This week, Premier Aurousseau has confirmed that a major political rally will be prepared for December to reaffirm the future of his administration, and the direction of his vision. This comes as many have felt that PAX would continue to demand more moderate concessions, and it seems Monlam Aurousseau wishes to challenge this feeling and reaffirm that his council communist vision is still possible.

As such, the rally will be an attempt to reaffirm the narrative and put more pressure on PAX to accept more council communist esqe bills. Whether it'll be successful or not, is yet to be seen however. But as the CPX New Line have been rallying in his favour and to support his agenda, there is still considerable support for Aurousseau's vision. The rally will occur in the heart of the country, Bajoum and of course, all citizens are invited, even those who don't necessarily agree with Aurousseau's ideological vision.

However, of course, there have been criticism of Monlam Aurousseau as he is the Premier, he's expected to at least try something rather than constantly being rejected by PAX. Sign some Revolutionary Orders. Something. Anything. While detractors feel that they were vindicated in Monlam Aurousseau being more focused on hypothetical theories than anything else, he has been defended by not only supporters, but also coalition allies, such as Left-Green Dovani, who have pointed towards the Red-Green Revolution, of which, Aurousseau has supported the expansion of solar farms.

Whatever the case, the rally this December is expected to address a lot of issues that the Aurousseau Administration has faced, most particularly in its momentum slowing down. Whether it'll be enough to convince PAX to throw a bone or two his way, is yet to be seen.

Premier Monlam Aurousseau shot in Bajoum; PAX begins Emergency Session.
---------------------------
December 7th, 5722
---------------------------
The December Rally in Bajoum was expected to go without major issues. Those expectations however have been shattered, as the Premier, Monlam Aurousseau, has been shot. Currently in critical condition, the situation has been rapidly evolving throughout the day. With Public Security shutting down the rally, details are sparse but what is known is this. The gunman was a rogue member of Public Security who had access to a firearm, the Premier is in critical condition and the gunman was detained, leaving another member of Public Security injured.

PAX has however been in a state of unrest, as it's quickly organized an Emergency Session due to the fact that the Premier is unable to actually act. The biggest issue of course, has been nominating a temporary Premier to replace Aurousseau until he can return to service and recovers. The CPX New Line has advocated for Lobsang, a member of the CPX who has frequently endorsed Aurousseau's form of socialism, whilst the rest of the CPX has pushed back, offering a more moderate candidate. The Pure Apple Coalition however, has been split, as the ISDP has offered one of their own as interim premier, which has only caused controversy in PAX as LGD has been unable to offer a candidate due to PAX still remembering the 5670s and the last time Left-Green Dovani held the Premiership. The Opposition has, surprisingly, taken a principled stance, offering to support whoever the Pure Apple Coalition puts up it ensure a quick stable transition. But, the XIP has made it clear that they would prefer a non partisan candidate.

Those hopes of a non partisan candidate would fall apart as the CPX would continue fighting itself, trying to push a party moderate or a New Line candidate. The ISDP however, has been able to rally support from LGD for their own candidate, Pemba Loup, who resides in the Left of the ISDP. The CPX has, with great hesitation and reluctance, backed comrade Loup, relying on a party ship to support Loup. Despite securing the support of the Pure Apple Coalition, there have been holdouts in PAX, such as the Socialist Party of Xsampa and even the Democratic Socialist Left Party, who have opposed Loup's nomination. Despite their small opposition, PAX nominated Loup as Interim Premier, who will govern until either Aurousseau makes a recover and can govern again, or until the 5725 elections.

Public reaction has been mixed, as shock is still widespread over an assassination attempt. Xsampa is a calm society, but apparently not calm enough as this wouldn't have happened otherwise. Combine that with some concerns over an ISDP Premier, and the public is skeptical. To say that this is difficult to comprehend would be an understatement. But whatever the case, we must send our best wishes to comrade Loup, for she will need all she can get.

Loup confirms her administration will not pursue council communist policies; Aurousseau confirmed comatose as ISC Investigation continues on.
---------------------------
March 7th, 5723
---------------------------
One of the key questions that many have asked regarding the Loup Administration have been, what will define her administration? As it's been confirmed that Monlam Aurousseau is comatose, it's clear that Loup is likely to stay until 5725, and so many, most especially on the left have wondered if her administration will continue the council communist policies by Aurousseau. This week however, would see not relief, but frustration and anger from the CPX New Line as Loup confirmed that her administration will not continue council communist policies, citing the need for her administration to "be nonpartisan and focused on unity" due to its interim nature.

Of course, the CPX New Line has most especially been upset over this, believing it to be an ideological betrayal of what the Pure Apple Coalition was founded in. Alongside this, the TUUL has also been considerable upset, especially as these council communist policies have been quite helpful in empowering workers across the country. Despite this, Loup has confirmed that the Red-Green Revolution will continue, but her administration will focus strictly on unity and being nonpartisan. As the Internal Security Committee continues investigating the Bajoum Shooting, more details are slowly emerging regarding the radicalized rogue member of Public Security. Slowly but surely.

Whatever the case, with the CPX New Line considerably upset, Loup's support base in PAX is considerably reduced, and it's likely that she'll need to court the rest of the CPX and court organized labour if she wants to survive any vote of no confidence motions.
