The ratification of the MATO treaty by the Dual Republic, the Yeudi States and Wiel had made immediate waves on the financial markets of Narikaton and Darnussia after it became clear that large weapons contracts would be up for grabs, both the Dual Republican Navy as well as the Ground Forces have already announced that Narikan and Passschiffe have received word to start the production of a new generation of small arms and support equipment while Passschiffe is in intense negotiations with both the central government in Bannerhafen and Wiel surrounding potential Naval works. Military experts consider that while numerous in vessels, the navy needs midline upgrades and maintenance work done before being able to project its full force. Defence Minister Johanna Beidel (VVP) has confirmed that talks are ongoing in regards to building larger ships like aircraft carriers. In any case, local reporters from Vascania have confirmed that the Lavati-Ossel yards have started a recruitment drive to do the already mentioned maintenance for a large chunk of the smaller KS1 (frigate) stock. To fulfil this increased demand, the until recently stagnating Industrial Hub of Red Stad has been approving rezoning requests by some of the largest construction companies fronting factory projects guaranteed by the state as a payer of last resort, it seems that the industrial sprawl around the Red Stad is going to grow even further, much to the dismay of environmentalists and social democrats aligned with the Great Reform Party, they’ve stated their intentions of organizing protests should the VVP consider to progress on the path of rapid military-industrialization. In the meantime, President Berger is enjoying the new gun-crazed population of the Dual Republic which is perfectly happy to embrace the wide availability, Bigman has stated that “we’re totally thinking about liberalizing gun laws, I mean damn dude, look at this, hell yeah.”
