The new Sejm building
After experts determined that the old Sejm building is in a “totally irreparable” state and that its reuse would require its complete demolition and rebuilding from the ground up after the explosion it suffered during the 5623-5624 protests in Valruzia, the Military Junta has decided to cede one of the palaces used as a barracks for the Valruzian Armed Forces in the capital as new headquarters for the Sejm.
This building, which is located in the so-called “Victory Square” and is more than 200 years old, has a total area of approximately 50,000 m² (including the entire square), of which 19,000 m² are built and the remaining 31,000 m² are open space. Crossed by a 15-meter wide estuary, the Military Junta has already declared that they intend to “renovate and modernize the bridges that cross it”, with the idea of building five bridges symbolizing each of the five regions of the nation.
Quote:“This is a new opportunity to leave behind the dark period from which we have emerged and look to a new future. This new building, with its renovation, will truly become a “people's building”, where citizens will be able to enter to visit its many galleries. Visitors will be able to go up the towers on the sides and admire the view from above. In addition, the square itself will become a space for passers-by, a space to enjoy,”said a spokesman for the military junta.

Building plan
In addition, the government has announced that on each of the bridges will be placed two plaques with inscriptions, one with the phrase “to the martyrs of the revolution, who gave their lives for the freedom of Valruzia” and the other with the names of all those who were killed by the Morawski regime from each Valruzian Voivodeship, with an estimated number of between 2000 and 8000 citizens. In the center of the square, a fountain is to be built representing life.
This change has been welcomed by a vast majority of the newly elected deputies, whilst some members of the National Salvation party have raised concerns over the "attempt to erase and modify history". Nevertheless, deputies are expected to convene next month and elect the first Marshall of the Sejm (speaker of the Sejm), to continue with the democratization process in Valruzia.
