RECOGNITION OF THE FISTS OF SUPREME HARMONY

The Fists of Supreme Harmony (Tai Wo Kyun) were formed by the people, who took up arms and organization immediately upon hearing the call of the Grand Regent Cou Mong. The Tai Wo Kyun have begun to accelerate the pace and frequency of the self-struggle sessions throughout the land, aimed at rooting out revisionists and republican agents and to rehabilitate former agents of the degenerate cause into loyal subjects of the Emperor and pious Jienists.

The national administration hears the cries of the Tai Wo Kyun for justice and grants them liberation as official agents of the Great Cultural Rejuvenation. All acts done by the Tai Wo Kyun in the name of the Great Cultural Rejuvenation shall be condoned by the administration as a great service to the Yingdalan people, state, and civilization.

THE HOIZAU PAPER

Nadiya Economic Community Give Reverence to the Imperial Throne
November 12, 5600

Representatives of the Nadiya Economic Community including Prime Minister Tatyana Artemievna arrived at Afong Palace yesterday to give reverence to His Majesty the Emperor Jiu. Because His Imperial Majesty's corporeal presence is no longer in this world, His Imperial Majesty is known and divined with through his ancestral Spirit Tablet in Afong Palace's Sinping Hall. Sinping Hall's roof tiles are gilded a brilliant gold color, to acknowlege the primacy of the Emperor among the other roofs, which are all azure-glazed (靑磁瓦). PM Artemievna and other Nadiyan represenatives kowtowed before the Emperor's Spirit Tablet, as is diplomatic custom with the Exalted Celestial Empire, and the Emperor blessed them spiritually.

The NEC and the Exalted Celestial Empire exchanged formal recognition and promised to increase economic ties between the nations. Representing the will of His Majesty the Emperor was Grand Regent Cou Mong. Yingdala also assured the NEC that there were no reservations about how far the cordial relationship would be pursued.

DALIBOR IS OUR LAND! A PROCLAMATION OF YINGDALA'S REASSERTION OF SOVEREIGNITY OVER ITS RIGHTFUL TERRITORY

The Heritage of the Imperial State, which is being revived and rectified through the Cultural Rejuvenation, is a glorious one of Ten Thousand Years. Ten thousand lands have long before bowed in reverence and tribute to the Celestial Throne, and today they shall do so once more. Of these subservient states that have recognized the glory and superiority of Yingdala, key among them has been Dalibor, which was once allowed autonomous governance as a filial state due to the old and proper veneration given to the Imperial Throne in days past. However, in the complete abandonment of these valued principles and a backstabbing of trust, the uproarious regime in Dalibor now defies His Majesty and attempts to destroy the natural order by rejecting the endless grace and benevolence of Imperial suzerainty.

This barbaric insult to Heaven cannot stand. Therefore Heaven and His Imperial Majesty the Emperor have convened and ordained that the existence of an autonomous Dalibor cannot be permitted in this world.

The Exalted Celestial Empire of Yingdala henceforth today:

REASSERTS its complete and total territorial integrity over both sides of the Dalibor Strait and that Dalibor is the Sixth Province of the Exalted Celestial Empire alongside Min, Anle, Shu, Han, and Jiaozhi

ANNEXES COMPLETELY the so-called "Republic of Dalibor" and all rebellious territories therein pledging allegiance to that formerly autonomous power as territorial units of the sovereign Exalted Celestial Empire

APPOINTS Duke Kok Gongwaa (郝江華) to govern Dalibor as the Sixth Province of Yingdala

SHALL INSTRUCT the civil service and tax office to levy taxes and regulations upon His Majesty's subjects in the Yingdalan Province of Dalibor

ORDAINED by Heaven and His Imperial Majesty Emperor Jiu and carried out humbly by his servant Grand Regent Cou Mong

Heaven Worship, of course, must remain the belief of the people to ensure their faith in the Imperial government. Those who do not publicly declare their support and submission to the traditional ideals of the people will be taxed and are committing sins worthy of considerable penalty. Protections and exceptions are afforded the minorities in good taste, so long as they recognize Imperial supremacy.

All Yingdalans must be Jienists, with no exceptions to be allowed. However, the census considered the Jienist Church - an independent body of clergy under state supervision - to be a different and distinct sect of Heaven Worship considering their unique liturgical practices and formation. It must be clarified, however, that Yingdala is 100% Jienist in ritual and philosophy.

The Yingdalan Language is the unifying national tongue of the Empire. The Administrative Language is the supreme and most sublime and refined language, passed down through the millennia and carefully retained in the Imperial court to this day. It, alas, sadly differs considerably from the modern and incorrect deviations of the lowest colloquial rabble, but the Standard Language seeks to bring the citizen's language closer to the administrative norm.

Mandate of Heaven Left Unfilled and Unclaimed, Chancellor Gu Wanzhe De Facto Leader
Instability at the very top as imperial continuity is jeopardized and government is elevated to fill void.

Kaizhou, Jiazhi – With the passing of Emperor Jiu on October 6, 5606 and leaving no heir to inherit the Mandate of Heaven, Chancellor Gu Wanzhe, 42, became the de facto leader of the empire and was sworn in on January 20, 5607. In his inaugural speech, Chancellor Gu told the empire that it was his "top priority" to ensure that "the Mandate of Heaven is filled without much delay;" however, the Mandate has been left unfilled for over a decade now, leaving many confused on the prospects of the empire's government.

Imperial scholars have protested the Chancellor for failing to act according to imperial law that states that, "...upon the passing, incapacitation, or abdication of the Emperor without an heir, the Chancellor shall, within 90 days, form a commission of scholars, clergy, and noblemen to fill the vacancy of the Mandate of Heaven." While the Chancellor formed the commission, the commission was unable to be effective in their role as the Chancellor stood as a hindrance in their functioning.

After 10 years the Mandate's vacancy, and with no one claiming it, people are growing frustrated with the lack of care of imperial continuity as Chancellor Gu has sought to increase his own power instead. Many imperial loyalists have marched in the streets in the empire's capital calling for the resignation of Chancellor Gu and for the restoration of the Celestial Throne.

Imperial Congress Approves Unified Contribution Act Amid Public Concern
Economists sends warnings while farmers seek retribution
15 April 5616

[Image: ?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.globaltimes.cn%2FPo...8d9a409f50]

KAIZHOU – The Imperial Congress eschewed the pork barrel in favor of something much meatier: tax increases. The Congress passed the Unified Contribution Act after contentious debate between nobles and commoners. The bill is a sweeping fiscal hardliner that raises land and grain taxes across the board on provincial agricultural holdings and craftsguilds. The bill, proposed by Xue Zhengfe, Minister of Finance, was characterized as a "necessary realignment of duties to preserve the stability of the Empire." Significantly, the Act provides exemptions for households carrying senior noble titles and all merchant consortia granted a national trade license, initial provisions that have attracted withering criticism from scholars and smallholder advocates.

"The UCA is a tax on survival based on class and status," said Delegate Jin Deyan of Tian'an, one of the commoner members of Congress to vote against the bill. "We are punishing the root and protecting the branches." Officials in the Chancellery characterized the law as "a practical action to cover rising budgetary requirements in a manner that did not disrupt Yingdala's noble-le administrative legacy."

While the bill is set to raise government tax revenue in the short, immediate term, economists warn about the long-term and structural affects of this law. Dr. Min, an economist at Kaizhou National University, argued that the bill would "bankrupt small farmers" and "sharply decrease food production, which may cause a rise in food prices that would be felt throughout the Empire as a whole. In summary, the UAC will lead to a collapsing middle class, local stagnation, and civil unrest as government exploits its citizens.

Noble Families Militarize After Government Passes Bill to Localize Military
23 May 5616

KAIZHOU – Multiple reports across the nation have confirmed an unprecedented increase in arms spending and private soldiers from some of the more powerful noble families, in particular, those from the central provinces. Observers say this is a quiet militarization that threatens to unravel the tenuous balance of imperial harmony.

House Liang of Hazhou, House Chen of Mudanwan, and House Wu of Tiaxi, are among those said to be enlarging estate militias "for east defense and ritual preservation." Critics, however, charge that those forces are employed to intimidate tenant farmers and neighboring rivals in a climate of growing rural tension.

"The laws of heaven dictates say the nobles be the defender, not the conqueror," Lady Zhen Miaohua of ??? said in a rare public statement. "When the swords start to outweigh the scrolls, we are close to ruin." When asked whether the Chancellery would enforce the Imperial Militia Restriction Act, which limits non-imperial troop numbers, the Defense Minister declined to comment. People in southern townships say there are more and more checkpoints and there are rumors that people are being forced to work in noble armories.

Nobles who are militarizing claim that the sole purpose for doing so is to bring "law and order in uncivilized areas of the Empire," while also pointing out the economic and security benefits of their actions. However, many Yingdalans have growing concerns over these recent developments. When asked what this would mean for themselves and their family, middle class and low class Yingdalans are tooting the same horn.

"I fear that we're entering a time like in the old days where local commanders extorted the common people for rice, sons, and materials," said one man who lives in Tiaxi. "This is not what we signed up for." Others are concerned about the increased grain tax revenues being used to fund this endeavor, while others say that this is a disaster waiting to happen.

Scholars are also in-step with commoners, but for different reasons. "I'll tell you what can go wrong," said a Professor of Imperial and Governmental Science. "With the localization of military personnel to noble banner armies, loyalty to the Celestial Throne will dwindle leading to the rise of noble autonomy which will shift the boundaries of our nation for a generation if not stopped."

Noble families consolidate as the Celestial Throne remains empty

12th May, 5617 - KAIZHOU, Jiaozhi, Yingdala

It is almost impossible to miss the tension as one walks through Kaizhou, the capital of Commonwealth of Yingdala. Once one of the world's greatest powers, Yingdala has not been relevant to international politics for centuries, and the Yingdalan state apparatus is considered to be "dead man walking" by some. The reasoning behind that assessment is quite simple, Yingdala is an empire without emperor, ruled by ruthless and opportunistic nobility overseen only by chancellor with questionable health. It is almost a year since the Imperial Congress passed the Military Localisation Act, a law that allows noble families to field their private armies. The law was immediately exploited by the noble families to build up the strength of their own banner armies.

The families that utilised the law the most were the three most powerful noble houses of Yingdala, the Liang, the Chen, and the Wu. The Liang house is a powerful family based in the city of Hazhou and dominant in the Shu and Han provinces. The Chen family of Mundanwan governs the Min province and is known for its heavy focus on martial education of its members. The Wu family from Anle province are known for being merchants that were elevated to nobility for their loyalty to late regent Cou Mong in 5595 after the restoration of monarchy. Rumors have it that all three houses have already begun preparing moves to take the Mandate of Heaven for themselves.

However, the three powerful clans did not keep just to their possessions, but instead began offering protection to minor noble families, and even exerting influence in the capital province Jiaozhi which is usually considered to be neutral. Nowadays when in Kaizhou, one sees many soldiers proudly wearing the symbols of Wu, Liang, and Chen, rather than the Imperial Army. An uninformed foreigner might ask, why does not the emperor do something about this? The answer is, as many well know, there is no emperor. Since the death of last emperor Jiu in 5606, the celestial throne remains empty. According to some, the chancellor Gu Wanzhe and his hunger to keep the expanded power is to blame, while some accuse the divided nobility of refusing to collaborate. As always the truth is somewhere between.

As the tensions mount between the Three Great Houses, as they have begun to be called by the commoners, mount, and chancellor's health is rumored to be shakier by each passing day, it remains to be seen if the Celestial Empire can handle the next great crisis, or if it will dissolve into anarchy, banditry, and warlord fiefdoms as it did so many times before. "There have been many times in history when the powerful noble families fought between themselves, and that this habit is not gone even in 57th century, I fear" says professor of History of Yingdalan Nobility at University of Kaizhou Wei Yang, a well-known and renowned expert in the field.

CHANCELLOR GU WANZHE DIAGONSED WITH CANCER

KAIZHOU - In a recent press release, the Office of Public Communications of the Chancellor officially announced that the Grand Chancellor of the Celestial Empire, His Excellency Gu Wanzhe, has cancer of the lungs. That Gu Wanzhe was deathly ill was clear to anyone with eyes to see, but it seems that he has finally outlived his usefulness even to his merchant masters, who have discarded him like a toy that has failed to keep a spoiled child's interest. Now that the truth is out, the countdown to the end of Gu has begun.

Gu Wanzhe has been elevated to the position of chancellor in the year 5602 after a republican filth assassinated Grand Regent Cou Mong and the position of chancellor was established. His appointment was heaven-sent to the merchant and liberal upstart peasants, chief among them the "house" of Wu, who, driven by their infinite greed, have used this opportunity to dirty the pure imperial government with their lowborn blood. This dishonor has only escalated after the death of His Imperial Majesty Emperor Jiu in 5606, when the traitorous chancellor refused to convene the council to appoint a new emperor from among the rightful heirs and thus preserve the continuity of the heaven-blessed imperial lineage. Instead, the uneducated liberal spat on the graves of His Imperial Majesty Emperor Jiu and the glorious Grand Regent Cou Mong by daring to establish a parliament, and worst of all, one where the uneducated lowborn mobs had a say.

However, now that it is but certain that Gu will be dead within a year, even his patrons from the "formerly" merchant "house" of Wu, elevated to nobility in 5695 in what was Grand Regent Cou's only and largest mistake, have turned on him and begun to put the young heir of the house patriarch, Wu An, forward as next chancellor, even as Gu still maintains his grip on the position. In order to not let even more power fall into the greedy hands of uneducated merchants, the ancient and traditional southern house of Liang has put up opposition, proposing the house head Liang Zemin for the position. The third of the so-called "Great Houses," the martial Chen clan, has also put forward a candidate, the ambitious Chen Zhenya, a general and leader of the House Army of Chen and the Province Banner of Min.

It is not clear which of these houses shall emerge victorious, but it is the hope of this humble author that the House of Liang shall rise to restore the imperial line that has been empty for decades and drive out all the democratic and liberal peasant vermin plaguing the heavens-blessed Commonwealth of Yingdala.
