One state, three nations, a path forward secured. Who will be its King?

Endravaros – Leaders of the former legislature of the Tripartite Republic, the representatives of the local legislatures and the local governmants of the three constituent states of the Tripartite Republic have come together in Arţăreni, Kutohaderia to discuss the road forward for the nation. Now it seems a road towards unity has been found as the principle of trialism has once more been adopted with the foundation of a federal Kingdom with three co-equal states. Now the Regency Council is looking for a suitable King, who shall claim the legacy of the House of Zyldavia?
 
Two years ago the last embers of the dying Tripartite Republic fell when its socialist government resigned after losing grip on the member states of the Republic. First the New Endralonian government was couped by an anti-socialist force that sought to break free from the union. Then Kizenian nationalists, intending to make the whole country Kizenian again forced out the government in Kizenia together with moderates that sought reform after seeing the total breakdown of the current government. What followed was a time of uncertainty.
 
In Endravaros the New Endralonians asserted their wishes to return to a constitutional monarchy by recreating the Kingdom of New Endralon. Miklós Csoma was named Prime-Minister of New Endralon and Regent of the New Endralon. Making him both head of state and head of government. The Kizenians who had declared the creation of the State of Kizenia got angered by the sheer attempt to secede from the union, causing tensions to flair up. Six months of cold war erupted between the two as the central government only exerted control over Kutohaderia, the state of the Kuzaki. With this going on the Kuzaki took over this government, declared it mostly defunct and declared themselves autonomous as the State of Kuzaki. To end the tensions they offered all parties to take seat in discussions amongst themselves to create a new functioning state that offers autonomy to all regions but keep the nation together. These talks would be held on mostly neutral ground in Arţăreni, to which surprisingly all parties agreed.
 
A year long discussion followed, with the New Endralonians pushing for a monarchy that ‘’respects our past and grants a figure that stands as the protector of the people and as a neutral party above us all to protect our culture’’. To which the Kizenians mockingly said ‘’to protect New Endralonian supremacy’’. Bickering went on and on. But progress was made on other fronts. The nations agreed that a central government would focus on defence, foreign affairs and federal level economics and infrastructure. The rest would be left to the autonomous nations within this federal or confederal structure. The Kizenians, New Endralonians and Kuzaki’s would keep their states but be granted more autonomy, far more. Also the national legislature will be kept small and represent this local autonomy.
 
Yesterday all three parties agreed that the nation will be transformed into the ‘’United Kingdoms of New Endralon, Kizenia & Kuzaki’’ or the ‘’Kingdom of New Endralon & Kizenia’’ for short. The heads of the three states were agreed to be Governors and shall act as Regents in a Regency Council of the Kingdom until a new monarch is chosen. At the meeting it was agreed that the history with the Luthorians was too biased towards the New Endralonians, though they were not excluded the council agreed to hear claimants with Zyldavian or Syldavian blood (the Royal Houses, not the people of Endralon or New Endralon) and to hear their position on protecting the rights of all three ethnic groups. The Council has declared to be open to hearing all possible claimants.

Military coup in New Endralon and Kizenia; Dissolution of the Regency Council as the military takes full control.

Residents of Porteşti today awoke to the sight of tanks and soldiers in the capital, and just as quickly, reports emerged across the country of the same scene. The military has conducted a military coup against the civilian government. The quickly organized National Salvation Council has been formed, consisting of several military leaders, and has claimed that the Regency Council, being unable to find a monarch has been holding the nation back, and that a civilian government is incapable of properly governing. As such, the NSC has formally dissolved the Regency, nominated former general Török Bendegúz as interim President, as the Kingdom of New Endralon and Kizenia is formally dissolved, and replaced with the Republic of New Endralon and Kizenia. 

Immediately, the National Security Law was passed, formally outlawing any and all protests, declaring indefinite martial law and launching a total crackdown on dissidents. Protests across the country were quickly silenced in the following days, with a military crackdown occuring. The newly inaugurated President Bendegúz has stated that law, order and stability will be brought to the realm and that dissidents will not hold the nation back.

So far, concerns have emerged over the obvious authoritarianism, suppression of civil rights and dissolution of civilian governance, but concerns have also emerged over the concern of potential ethnic favouritism, which could very well threaten the stability of the Republic. Whatever the case, the military coup has so far seen little foreign responses but many expect that to change soon.

Naval Incident in the Pass of Deliverance as a Nadiyan ship is enters NEK waters and is fired upon; National Salvation Council defends military actions.

Crisis has hit Keris it seems as an incident has occured in the Pass of Deliverance. A naval vessel from Nadiya was shot upon after entering the waters of NEK. State media in NEK has claimed that the vessel was a military ship and that it had violated the territorial waters of NEK. However, it should be taken with a grain of salt as the Military Junta in NEK has proven to be particularly volatile and hostile to states that condemned the last year. 

With a vessel shot upon, the National Salvation Council has defended the actions of the NEK Navy, arguing that the violation of territorial waters by a military vessel that was warned several times is a very serious matter. Whether this legally is an act of war or not is relatively blurry due to conflicting reports and the fact that the ship, whilst most likely civilian in nature, was in NEK waters. Whatever the case, this is expected to enflame tensions even further as just last year, various states, including Kerisian states condemned the military coup and are most certainly going to condemn this move.

Domestically, it's hard to gauge what's going on in NEK as the military continues to crack down on any organized resistance, and state media is keeping a firm grip on what's being said. It's unlikely that the Military Junta in NEK will find itself in calm waters however. Antagonizing it's neighbours, especially without continued investment into the military is only certainly going to cause problems further down the line. But, in the name of peace, we can only hope for the best.

Massacre in Nepolesti; Military crackdown on dissidents escalate.

It would seem that tragedy continues to define the Military Junta in NEK. With the military junta being incredibly unpopular, it's to little surprise that the people would organize, even with the ever present National Security Act. Whether it be attempted wildcat strikes, protests, riots or other acts of dissent. Unfortunately, this essentially means constant acts of crackdown by the military. Today, in Nepolesti, it came to a new low as an organized protest was held. The military response was expected, but it seems that the protest in Nepolesti did escalate, and it seems in the confusion, it escalated into a massacre. What little information did get out, was that among the dead, most notably, were a handful of Egelians. 

So, what does this imply going forward? The military junta will do whatever it takes to defend it's power. While it has condemned the massacre internally and claimed to have punished those responsible, it's also defended the right to crack down, arguing that in the current situation with tensions so high with Nadiya and Egelion, there can be no time for dissent. Domestically, the reaction is more muted. It's hard to tell due to state control of the media, but odds are, this will only increase dissatisfaction with an already immensely unpopular military junta. The only reason no one will openly criticize is because of the repercussions.

However, it seems some segments of the military have defected outright, and begun waging a guerilla war with the National Salvation Council. Calling themselves the "Armata Libertății și Independenței/A Szabadság és Függetlenség Hadserege" or Freedom and Independence Army (FIA/ALI/ASFH), they've begun waging a guerilla war in New Endralon and portions of Kizenia. While currently small and unable to do much, the National Salvation Council will likely react harshly to bringing them down.

Whatever the case, troubling developments continue to define NEK and this region of Keris. Whether tensions will escalate even higher or not, it is unknown but given how volatile the Junta is, anything is possible. For better or worse.

It would seem that Keris has gone to war. Following the Nadiyan declaration of war against the Republic of New Endralon and Kizenia, Egelion has declared war against the military junta in NEK. As expected in Porteşti (after the missile attacks), the reaction has been strong. President Bendegúz has declared that all of New Endralon and Kizenia will defend itself from Nadiyan and Egelian imperialism, pledging total resistance. State media has already gone to work decrying the invasion of NEK as an attempt to end the Republican Experiment of New Endralon and Kizenia, and using nationalistic rhetoric to attempt to create a rally around the flag effect. However, the Nepolesti Massacre is still in the minds of many, and this junta is very unpopular. 

As border forced begin engaging however, one group has had a rather positive reaction to the invasion. The Freedom and Independence Army, which has begun scaling up it's guerilla attacks against the military junta. While so far, neither Nadiya nor Egelion have recognized FIA as anything, let alone an insurgency, it's likely that they'll find themselves allies of convenience in this war. After all, the enemy of my enemy is my friend. 

Whatever the case, as Keris goes to war, Porteşti has begun preparing itself, considering a full conscription act, to at least endure a little longer as the Junta is effectively surrounded on all sides. As FIA ramps up it's guerilla war and looks to take advantage of the situation as much as possible, and Nadiyan and Egelian troops begin moving into the country, most international observers are in agreement. A victory for NEK is incredibly slim, if not impossible. So the question to be asked is, how much blood will the Junta take with it?

FIA escalates attacks on Junta forces; The Battle for Deltavaros

To say that the odds are against the junta is an understatement. Facing off not only independent guerillas, but also a rapidly organizing Freedom and Independence Army (FIA), and the combined militaries or Nadiya, Egelion and Kalistan, the chances for a Junta victory are incredibly slim. With little fighting going on in the South, most Junta forces are propped up in the mountains, attempting to stop the Egelian advance or westwards trying to stop the Nadiyan advance. However, in the north, the situation is deteriorating it seems. FIA, sensing an opportunity to not only strike at the junta but secure a position of power in preparations for the inevitable defeat of the Junta. As such, FIA partisans and guerillas have begun skirmishes all across the city of Deltavaros, determined to secure the city and establish FIA as a proper player in NEK instead of just a military force.

As the Battle for Deltavaros continues on, FIA has also begun to organize itself properly, looking to turn into a coherent entity instead of a mismanaged collective of insurgents, partisans and defected soldiers. The inevitable defeat of the Junta will mean many things and while it isn't here yet, it does mean that FIA can see the writing on the wall and it will need to be in a position to negotiate with the winning powers to ensure NEK doesn't become a puppet state after the war.

Whatever the case, as the war rages on, the battle of Deltavaros will determine if FIA can become a major entity in NEK and have a say at the end of the war when it comes or continue to remain as a partisan force.

NEK surrenders; The Kerisian War comes to an end.

Just hours ago, it was confirmed that the capital, Porteşti was fully captured by Egelian forces after sporadic fighting. With an attempted counteroffensive failing to muster, it quickly became apparent to whatever was left of the National Salvation Council; the war was lost. With President Bendegúz captured during the Battle of Porteşti, the Presidency fell back to the military, leading to Laurensiu Stinga becoming President and announcing a full unconditional surrender to the forces of Egelion, Nadiya, Kalistan and FIA. As such, official fighting has ceased across the country. While there will always be a handful of holdouts still fighting in a partisan war, there's likely to be little to no professional fighting.

While a peace treaty so far hasn't been signed, it's likely to come within the coming weeks. Yet the big question for most is, what's to be the fate of NEK? Will the fragile Republic endure? Will the Regency be restored? Will NEK be broken apart? Carved up? It's hard to say, but most are certain that, at least for the region of Kizenia, the monarchy will be restored. For Kuzaki and New Endralon, the question is more difficult to answer. Whatever the case, as the guns go silent, the Kerisian War has formally come to a close.

Organization of the Constitutional Party of the Tripartite Kingdom; As a peace treaty looms, FIA reorganizes.

As talks continue in Cartablanca regarding the peace treaty to end the Kerisian War, it seems FIA has already begun setting up local governance, working with occupying forces. More importantly, they've reorganized themselves into a proper political entity. The Constitutional Party of the Tripartite Kingdom. While technically the monarchy is in limbo due to the occupation, it's no secret that the monarchy will likely be restored due to 2 of the occupation nations being monarchist themselves. Whatever the case, the formation of the CPTK has given FIA more legitimacy.

So what is the CPTK? Well, according to its platform, or describes itself as a paternalistic, federalist, royal party. That obviously doesn't say much. Due to the ever so delicate ethnic situation in NEK, federalism is a given. But the paternalism is most interesting. It's no secret that FIA is anti-democratic. It's not a stretch to assume many would rather have an absolute monarchy, but it seems, at least partially in thanks to the Nadiyan Occupation Zone, there is at least an acceptance of democracy as a concept. Hence the formation of the CPTK. While they don't favour immediate democracy once the treaty is signed, it's clear that they'd rather democracy come slowly, and once the people are ready.

Beyond that, the CPTK is rather conservative. While not to a reactionary degree, it's still ultimately a conservative party at the end of the day. While this may chance once the peace treaty is signed and the CPTK gets proper governance of the country (and is forced to become big tent), this would mark a significant departure from the more socially liberal minded governments that define all 3 occupation nations. Whatever the case, the CPTK has largely focused on collaboration and ensuring that things are smooth and ready for the peace treaty and the end of the occupation.
