The RAP revives itself, small gathering organised by new chairman Arne Declercq

Magrathea After 15 years of no activity after their downfall in 5544, Arne Declercq, son of Arriele Verlaaien, the founder of the RAP, has decided to revive the party. Is he going on the same Bilan as before, or is he going softer or harder? The media was invited to the old HQ in Margrathea, where 578 people gathered to hear the new chairman talk.

Welcome everyone, Today we gather to celebrate the revival of once a great party who saved Ikradon and skyrocketed the economy. We are sadened to see how the previous government has done nothing with this. The more capitalism was invited, the more poverty rose. We understand liberty is important and nothing will change that, but control on the economy is what can guarantee this freedom, workers working on minimum wages and expensive healthcare, something that is not allowed. Not to speak about how the foreign affairs has been ignored. As you see tensions rising in Artania, imperialists  coming in and Dorvik who doesn't learn from past mistakes, instead of all staying away from Artania, they are invited in by artanians.. We are needed to get them the hell out. No imperialists are welcome in Artania except those from Artania self.

As the speech finished, Arne greeted our reporter and talked for a few minutes with him.

R(eporter) How do you see the RAP fitting in this landscape?
A(rne) As needed! The previous government hsn't had a proper opposition for a decade, now other have been popping up and are giving them a sort of opposition.

R: What are you're intensions with foreign affairs, as RAP was known to make it a priority?
A: you're asking somewhere about the AU, i pressume. No, it won't be a priority, Artanian Union is dead as it has been proven once again. The only nation where we will focus are those who helped, traded and supported us, like Dundorf, Baltusia, Xsampa and now hopefully Istalia. Tensions has never been as high as it is today, Hobrazia inviting the Ubercapitalist of Beiteynu in Artania, Malivia letting a Selayan nation into Artania. It's a disaster and one we will do everything in our power to stop them. 

R: What investments van we expect?
A: We will invest heavily in healthcare, Ikradun-island and the military. In these day of age, we need a stronger military, navy and airforce, will be one of the main things.

GROEN in Ikradon
One of the new parties of Ikradon, GROEN, is releasing a statement about the 5559 Ikradon December elections. President of the party Lana Van Der Eyden explains what GROEN is about and what their plans for the future of the nation are.

'GROEN is basically a very environmentalist party that prioritizes, of course the environment, but also strongly the civil rights. Notably, those have been at a low in Ikradon caused by the Nationale Democratische Partij (NDP). Their agenda is very restrictive to both our main priorities. Along with the Socialistische Arbeiderspartij (SAP), we hope to establish a left-leaning government in Ikradon, so the citizens can get what they have been asking for for years, and years. Cooperation with the Radicale Arbeiderspartij (RAP), is yet unsure. So far, their proposals are absolutely agreeing with our own standards.'

Out of this statement, we can see that the environmentalists hope to put a stop to the NDP-only government, and want to create a leftist Ikradon together with the socialists and possibly even the communists.

RAP-GROEN coalition?
Democracy was celebrated once again in December 5559, with the legislative and HoS elections! The Radicale Arbeiderspartij (RAP) was the elected biggest party, and is delivering the Head of State (Staatspresident), Arne Declercq, to Ikradon. The cabinet proposal of April 5560 shows that the new coalition will be with RAP and GROEN, the environmentalist party.

Below you can find the seats in parliament of Ikradon for the term 5559-5563.


This graph shows that the RAP, with their 41 seats, is the elected biggest party of Ikradon, followed by the previous government-delivering Nationale Democratische Partij (NDP). GROEN scores 19 seats, and the Socialist party of Ikradon has got 17 seats.

We were able to interview the possible new Head of Government, and GROEN party president Lana Van Der Eyden:
'Of course it is not the most usual thing to do to form a coalition with a radical party. This was not an easy decision, yet the beliefs of our party and the RAP for the upcoming 4 years are the same.

We both want to make Ikradon a place to live again, with more attention spent on the environment and civil rights.

If we did not agree to this coalition, we might not be getting change at all. After all, none of us, even not the socialist party, want the NDP to get back in the government.'

RAP is yet to release a public statement about the elections.

The upcoming leftist government of Ikradon is something to look forward to following!

Magrathea Arne Declerq came out as the winner of the elections of december 5559, he immediately started the negotiatons with the the SAP and GROEN, as the other 2 left-winged parties, he thought to have a shot of proving a unified left was possible. After the negotations where done, it was declared that the RAP and Groen would make a coalition. Arne Declerq gave a press conference to speak about the coalition:

We are very proud with the victory of the RAP and proud to see the other left parties found there way in parliament too. The SAP told us immediately that it won't cooperate with radical parties, wich shocked us, because what is radical about free healthcare, having a decent army and having a good relations with other nations? We had ofcourse to compromise to ensure a stable government, but we have to be honest the GROEN didn't let us compromise to much, so we found a consensus. We have agreed on several points that i will give to you right now. Free healthcare, to ensure our citizens our healthy and happy, also is making a network for doktersoffice and a campaign for cities who don't have enough to increase the motivation to open up doktersoffice's there. Defensebudget will increase and ikradon will start to invest in it army, navy and airforce, also a campaign will start to increase enlistments for those departments. Foreign policy will remain a priority. We will resharpen the relation with what we consider a dear ally, Dundorf. Investments into Ikradun-island, for state port and a new navalbase that will replace the one in Sudwe. Also will we invest together with Dundorf in a small city on the island where people who work on the island can live. We are also thinking on organising a conference for whole Artania, to start talking about more cooperation between Artanian nations and hopefully working towards more cohesion, so things like beiteynu and lodamnum can't happen again!

Margrathea The RAP said that if they would win they would host a conference for Artanian nations to talk about better cooperation between Artanian nations. It was one of their biggest reasons to compromise as heavily as they did to go into government. Luthori, Narikuton$Darnussia, Dundorf, and Dorvik, the big 4 have all agreed to join and will be added by Ikradon, Hobrazia, and Kundrati for the conference that will take place in het diplomatisch instituut van Ikradon (diplomatic institute of Ikradon), the conference will start January 5562.

Staatspresident Arne Declerq gave a press conference to elaborate on the subject:

The RAP has been known to advocate for a united Artania, but failed to do so, every time they bumped against some wall. Instead of forcing a union in others their throat, we wanted to open up talks for a better cooperation and hopefully a cohesion of Artania. Everyone has their way, opinion and history, but as we hope that we can find common ground and find a solution, diplomatically or practically, we will stand open to all proposals. We are grateful for the nations of Artania to do this effort and hopefully, it will lead to cohesion, which terra is so scared of.

 

Also, silent observers of nations outside Artania are permitted to attend, so will Lourenne, Kalistan, and Kanjor attend this conference.

Bierhal and Waffelhuis are set to expand to Likatonia, as well a educational cooperation and trade possibility for the augmented and virtual reality.

Magrathea Bierhal and Waffelhuis are confirmed to expand its operation towards northern Selaya, Likatonia to be exact. Its the second expansion, as they already expanded in 5540 to Malivia. Brent Verschaeren, former president of Ikradon and former chairman of the RAP, who is now chairman of the raad der staatsbedrijven, replied to our news agency.

We are very happy with this expansion, as it will improve finances for Ikradon and give people work there, the people there will be ensured on a above adequate salary, healthcare and every right for the workers. We are proud to distribute our beer and waffles onto Terra!

Also, in the agreement was a new educational cooperation between Likatonia and Ikradon, RAP has always found education a very important factor in any society and has retaken that responsebility.

Likatonia will also buy the Augmented and Virtual reality with the AI that has studied human behavior and set up a program that simulates situation that are delicate or hard on the ground, like that Likatonia hopes to ensure a decent formation for their police, military, doctor, teachers, etc... It is the first contact between both nations and already so productive. Likatonia is busy with an uprise after an responsible government has taken power.

RAP creating a union, to ensure worker rights are preserved and get what they deserve

Magrathea RAP is making a union for the workers, now the economy is 50% state and 50% private, RAP wants to ensure workers of the private companies remain having their rights and same salary. Even though they agreed on the new economy, they are still distrusting the private industries, so it appears. Arne Declerq, staatspresident and chairman of the RAP gave a little explanation:

I don't want to critique my own government, but we have to cautious with trusting companies in preserving rights if it costs them money. We want everyone to cooperate and thats why we are creating this union, to ensure everyone keeps their responsebility, it will also be called, the Arbeidersbond.

Lina Verhoeven, face of GROEN, to leave party and politics?
GROEN has announced this morning in the Ikradon Daily that miss Lina Verhoeven, state presidential candidate for the party, is to leave the party and politics if she does not win the pre elections within the party. GROEN-president and Ikradon Prime Minister (Premier) Lana Van Der Eyden states that she is sad to see this statement coming from Verhoeven and that she hopes the pre elections will make the right decision.

Lina Verhoeven has been within GROEN since the very start of the party in 5555. Since then, she has accomplished many environmentalist changes within Ikradon, for which she is very beloved within the government and people. Yet, Bram Verhaegen, GROEN candidate for State President, has decided to take a chance against Verhoeven in the pre elections.
Verhoeven:

'Mr. Verhaegen and I have never been friends, I can be honest with you about that, but I never saw this coming. Mr. Verhaegen has only just entered the party and already puts himself as candidate because he made a great first impression to my collegues. If he wins these pre elections, then I'm out. This can't be.'

Bookmakers predict that the chances of Verhoeven losing these pre elections are almost none. She is a beloved face within Ikradon and her party.

Ikradun-Island: Ikradon finally set to construct on it. New Naval Base and a new Port. Also new investments in Ikradons Navy.

Magrathea The government has finally decided to start constructing a new port onto Ikradun-Island, to improve trading and shipping. To give more room on the direct coast of Ikradon. The port will be a symbol for Ikradons renewed vision of trading and shipping, it will be called De Zeester. It is also expected that it will give furter international reputation towards Ikradon.

Also, it is announced that there will be build a new naval base on the island that will replace the one in Sudwe. as they have more room to operate from the island. One of the reason for the move is, strategically the island is more vulnerable then the mainland, so with the naval base there, defense is immidiately on sight.

The government also announced investments in the Navy to ensure Ikradon can take responsibility for naval defense, patrol its coast, and help Luthori and Kundrati. There also rumours of Ikradon and Dundorf talking about an Defense alliance, could be also on of the reason that Ikradon is investing in its navy. 

Ikradon has ordered 3 patrolboats, 3 missile boats, 2 corvettes and 1 frigate at Dorvik, an Artanian partner.

Arthur Lemmens, minister of defense gave a pressconference to elaborate on the subject.

We are happy with this project, the new naval base will help with the defense of Ikradun island and with the new ships that are ordered, we will be able to start taking responsebility in securing our continent, instead of depending on Luthori and Kundrati or non-Artanians. Like this we hope to lead as an example and other nations would follow the lead of uniting Artania.

Arne Declercq under fire within the RAP.
August 5563

Magrathea Arne Declerq chairman of the RAP and staatspresident is under fire. Some militants aren't happy with the last 5 years, they find the RAP has compromised itself by going into bed with capitalists who even support the uber capitalists of Beiteynu. They supported the government, in the hope of a succesfull Artanian conference, now it appears the conference would fail and the treaty withdrawals for beiteynu are going to fail, they are not happy that the RAP remains in government with those who didn't support them. The militant are happy with the resharpening relations of dundorf and the building of Ikradun-island, but are very angry about the rest of what this RAP has done in government.

Sam van Aken, who is challenging Arne Declercq in september for the chairman elections, has responded to our reporter:

We are happy with Dundorf, the RAP has a long history of trying to improve relations with Dundorf and we will never stop that. However, we can't be happy that this government is keeping its support for an uber-imperialist nation that wants to control others, we remain a communist party and we will never be happy with such events. The RAP has compromised its core principle for a failed conference, they sacrifised there core and went to bed with capitalists and imperialists. Never again, thats what we say to our current chairman. The RAP has to go back its core principle and think about the workers first! Arne Declercq has betrayed the workers and we will not allow it!
